While you can get onto May River it typically is a private golf course. just want to preface if you stay at the Montage at palmetto bluff it will allow you to play here. that being said, you're looking at $1,000 room and most of the year it's a minimum of two nights stay and the Greens fee when I last got on was 3 to 400 bucks. so you're looking at thousands of dollars? FYI
The best kept secret on public golf courses is "Monticello Golf Course" in McCormick, SC. A Tom Jackson design. Not a bad hole on the course. Can be very easy or very difficult, depending on which tee you play. If you are a low handicapper who like a challenge, play the "tips" (black tees). If you are a mid handicapper, I recommend the White tees. If you are ego driven and like to shoot a low score , the gold tees are for you.
So you think 4-10 all in Myrtle Beach are the best courses? Just shows you jhave mo clue about Santer Cooper area and western SC courses. You should rank hotel pillows.
The World is big Garry. And people pronounce words differently in other areas on that world. If you have any concerns, I would get away from your area and travel. Goff or Golf. IDK.
Just my 2 cents here... I highly recommend staying away from Myrtle beach courses. Too many horror stories. If you are in Myrtle beach for a vacation, stop in to the PGA Superstore and ask around for a avid golfer. Ask him for advice.
pretty difficult when most of the best public golf courses in the state are in this area. South Carolina is a phenomenal Gulf state, but most of its best courses outside of a few resorts are all private. Myrtle Beach AKA redneck Riviera dirty Myrtle definitely has its drawbacks but there are some phenomenal courses on the south side and the extreme north side. people often forget courses like river's edge that is right on the North Carolina, South Carolina border. it is a gem! Pawleys Plantation is another public course that should easily be on this list IMO it's better than half the courses that were listed, especially after the recent renovation. it's easily right there with true blue and Caledonia. Prestwick another really good course in Myrtle. Believe me like a lot of people. I don't care for the town just go and play golf. simply put if that's all you're looking for then you will be pleased

Great comment. Thanks
@@parfessor Greens were just aerated(5/2/23) and top dressed. Still on the mend from back to back bad rainstorms
Thanks for the updates. The Channel needs this.
Greens have healed. 6/27/23 Course is in good shape now

The purpose of this comment should be to add information but this must be your go to move. You seem like a winner lol
Come Back Dan we have so much to tell you
you are a nasty troll.
May river, but you are showing myrtlewood???
We fired the whole crew and hired AI
True Blue AND Caledonia are Mike Strantz golf courses, no?
Lets look into it on our end Mr Connolly
Yes they are
This dude is clueless. He is looking online at ratings and mever played any.
@@DanWessonSpecialist he is drawing in "boots on the ground" reviewers with up to date comments like mine. End result is very valuable.
Title of this video should be renamed "10 golf courses I visited while driving down the South Carolina coastline"
I sadly agree, we need to target east. Any courses?
The dunes is private...
Ok we made a mistake
it's actually semi-private. there are numerous ways to get on here, not that challenging@@parfessor
inaccurate architect on true blue and Caledonia that is a Mike strantz golf course. make no mistake.
TPC Myrtle has fallen far from what she once was. Horrible staff, lacking upkeep just to begin. Myrtle Beach National King's North is better
Noted we will update soon, thank you
I heard the same exact thing from an employee at the PGA Superstore in Myrtle Beach.
Goff 😂

Yeah but I used to live in south carolina and they pronounced golf with an L in it. Where are you from?
@@parfessor Funny thing I have travelled. Americans laugh at how people talk all the time. So I do it to Americans.
South Jersey
Its not worries, just we wont change that. Everyone is different and pronounce word differently, Goff or Golf, we will learn

I like this, thank you sir

Those are just courses on the coast. There are many in the state better than those.
Name some
