Played it 4 years ago on my trip and playing it again in 2 months! Conditions are amazing, layout is unique and loved it the first time. Cant wait to play it again first week of October!
I am part of a group that has gone on trips to MB for over 20 years. We heard of Caledonia about year 5. We have played it every year since! Our favorite course in MB. From the entrance to the approach shot at 18 and a brew in the clubhouse. Just a great day at a magnificent course.
Played it a couple of years ago with my daughter and we both hated it. Maybe because the starter was such a dick and yelled at us for "playing too fast". They of course were running split tees and we were like the second group off and turned too fast and we had to wait like an hour to play the back then it also took forever. Probably wouldn't go back.
The video turned out great! The Battle for the Bracelet guys had a blast that day, and thanks to Golficity we get to re-live it! Hope to run into y’all again someday. Cheers boys…
Caledonia is a real treat! I played it again earlier this year. Best round was an 82. For my game, I was on 🔥 that day. Great content as always fellas, keep up the great work!
Another Great vid...the play from you both, was Awesome, 36 is a long day!...MB,SC is the place to do it!!! Amazing finish on 17 &18...way to come thru, like getting paid!...Love the format w/ the commentary! But, come on Mikey long pants...gotta break out the shorts...LOL! 😂❤🎉😅 looking forward to the next one! 😊
Played Tobacco Road in 2013! What a gem of a course. We played 36 holes that day and my buddy shot +1 for 36 holes! I on the other hand just tried to survive
Another great course vlog by the GC boys. I felt like I was there with them. You guys need to host a tournament in the Northeast for subscribers! Centennial GC in Carmel, NY would be a perfect track 👍
Can confirm Pace of Play issues... however, we had a 740AM tee time and we still played in 5:15 minutes. We started playing weird games just to keep ourselves occupied. Waited on every single hole.
If you go back to Tobacco Road you need to hit Tot Hill Farm golf course. It is about an hour NW of Pinehurst and about a thousand miles away in feel. It in the Uwharrie national forrest and is a mountain course. I prefer it to any of the other Stranz courses but Caledonia is close. Tot Hill shows what Stranz could do on a property with a lot of elevation changes.
In 2007 golf digest rated Tot Hill the 7th hardest course in the US even though for the tips it plays less than 6700 yards. It has been softened but it is still way harder than Tobacco Road, which is very playable once you know the course. Tot Hill plays hard no matter how often you play it.@@Golficity
@@GolficityI bet! Sadly when I go down there, I get out by myself without the boys, get pairs with some randos. Been trying to get the guys to take a trip down there without the wives and kids.
It's been a while since I played Caledonia, and when I did, it was in February. My impression was that because the course goes so dormant in the winter, it was highly overrated, especially given its premium greens fee. I should give it a couple more tries in-season, ad I also seem to remember that course knowledge was paramount for good scoring.
I've played here a couple times now. Last time out we were the first tee time of the day on a Saturday and the round took 5 hours. Yes, first tee time and still 5 hours. They stack up the back while you play the front. Pretty stupid. It sucks because this really is a great, fun course. But to me a course of this caliber should care a little more about pace of play.
Have you played Caledonia in Myrtle Beach? Let us know about your experience! ⬇
Yes, what an amazing course, True Blue across the street is special too, but Caladonia is heaven!

@@Golficity 💪💪💪let’s go!!
I can play Tobacco Road as much as I want for school at Campbell, and believe me I will play all of his designs.
Next Monday I’m there can’t wait!
Lets go!
I've played it, what a GEM, loved it, one of my favorite courses I have ever played. It's like a little Augusta.
It was a treat for sure. One I would put on my list to replay!

im 70 yrs old. played a lot of great courses in my life. this is my favorite. tough, but playable. it's got everything
Man that’s probably the closest experience to pro/scottsdale’s 16th you’d ever get when you play there. That’s awesome

Dude, we totally have to check this out!!!!! Thanks for the tip.

Love playing True Blue there.
When we go back we're gonna tackle that one!
@@Golficity To me, it feels like a tobacco road with water.
Royal New Kent near Williamsburg is a great Strantz design as well
You guys should play Bulls Bay in Charleston, another Stranz course.
Caledonia is THAT PLACE! Would love to tear up the Dirty Myrtle with the boys
That was epic on the 17 and 18th!
So much fun!
@@GolficityI bet! Sadly when I go down there, I get out by myself without the boys, get pairs with some randos. Been trying to get the guys to take a trip down there without the wives and kids.
My favorite course in myrtle and possibly of all time
It’s a special place for sure!
I have a dear friend that lives around the corner from this place. Looks like I’m paying a visit.
Book it!

Heading back to Myrtle in a few weeks.

one reason for slow play is ppl who play from the back tees who shouldn't. remind you of anyone. i know it's an ego thing.
Course will be empty on summer afternoons because of the heat.
Good course, but I'm not a fan of #18
i give you guys a break on this because the course is not long
Yes it is.
