Attended the Friday 13th. evening tour with private reading. Made a believer out of my husband as the medium was correct on so many areas. Love the house, thanks for opening it up .
Glad the extravaganza went well. In this video you could really see the rooms and flooring as you walked through and although rough they look great. Even the yard looked expansive and beautiful.
Everything is coming along. The yard is so different than when I bought it. It's an incredible transformation. And the house being clean makes a big difference.
Janie... Wow..The porch seemed like a lot of work. Especially with the power tools that you had. I’ve always liked plug-in power tools when possible. Many ( not all) seem to have that little extra, when you need it.. There’s no quit in you! 🙂 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The eclipse shadows were cool..😎
It was a lot of work. When I did the other side I remembered to bring the corded circular saw and I had some help to move the plywood around. It went much quicker. I think the plug-ins definitely have more power. The eclipse was really fun.

Galveston is very well know for it's ghostly happenings. It was the site of the nations largest natural disaster - the great 1900 hurricane, where between 8,000 and 9,000 died in one night. Kathleen Macca, who did the cemetary tour for us, has written a book of Galveston's ghost stories. You can find it on Amazon or her website.
Sorry to be pernickety, but I would have put the short arc of the benches backed up towards the tree trunks- at least on that first one they set down- but that’s just me! They do look great and definitely suit the stature/ weight of the house as a whole. :)

We talked about that. It would take a lot of sand but we may end up doing that if this has to stay in place for a very long time.

They can go either way so that's a thought.
Shouldn't that bench be turned around the opposite so it gives the sitter more space or possibly an additional person?
I wondered about that too, but it's designed for two people so that they slightly face each other for easier conversation.
