Part of that place seems very old, and some seems not so old. Andrea, you don’t like SPAM ?!? 🥵🤢🤮

@@PinInTheAtlas I guess the reason I'm asking, is I'd darn near kill to see Bad Water again, and Lake Manly isn't going to be there for much longer. When I lived down there, my late husband, was an alcoholic and we didn't get to do the things I'd hoped to see, while down there. Things change, now it's just my sister and me, and if I had the money to stay in the Furnace Creek Inn for one night, I would get the chance to see at least a few things. Now, that would be fun.

For what it’s worth, I personally give you guys immense respect for taking the time to video the site.
So awesome you were able to document this before the mining company comes in and surely destroys everything, either through open pit operations, core drilling or "insurance reasons". Many thanks!
From what we can gather they seem to be quite respectful. Where they are drilling when we were there they were right by some cabins and they were doing everything to save them. At least that’s what it seemed like and what we were told. Fingers crossed eh?
One thing that really makes me wonder, is in the mine. How ever did all them metal items strewn around get so shredded? Not just a little either...but shredded literally!

It would have been nice to see y'all actually try to turn that engine over yeah it's probably stuck but she didn't try hard at all by the way they didn't make serpatien belts back then. Thanks for the awesome content
Strong Reliable Jeans were in busines at least from the 1930's, into the '60's, and, of course, are collectible now. That whole place is quite the find. Careful when you find baby rattlers: people often overlook the fact that the rest of the family may not be very far away.
If the land is BLM & has lode claims, you don't need permission. The surface is still public. If it's patented claims, they own the property & you should have permission..
And to think that ALL that stuff up there had to be brought in from who know where! Looked like a hard to get to place, hence the rather upspoiled situation it's still in. Cool! Would have loved if you could have shown a little more of the environment :-)
My dream video is Pin In The Atlas meets History Hunters and Mobile Instinct to go camping with WonderHussy and Steve Wallis at an abandoned ghost town.
This was a serious mining operation. Considering what you found and terrain was very difficult. I did notice the remains to a really old washing machine. When you consider the the terrain when it was started . Was still different from now. With the flashflood's over time making things more difficult. I personally wouldn't called the rattlesnake a baby. But instead youngling. Because you heard the rattle going. Don't get me wrong even a baby still do harm! In Florida we have the rattlesnake and pygmy rattlesnake. You don't take them lightly either. Sometimes can be found in the garage. Why people used the adhesive traps in the garage to catch them.
I wonder if the Mining Company is required to respect those 50 year old artifacts as we regular people have to, or are they gonna just wipe it all out and drag it down? You may have memorialized some real history there..
It is our understanding that under the antiquities act they aren’t legally allowed to tear them down, but we all know there are ways conglomerates get around those minor details. Hopefully they don’t, they were drilling around other cabins and said they are doing there best to stay clear of them so fingers crossed!
Surprise, Surprise. Never ever doubt a rattlesnake. If they want to be out and about ...they will .doesn't matter what time or if its cold. Always keep an eye out. Stay safe.@@PinInTheAtlas

Back in the day. If you were remote enough. It was easy to run an operation. With very little interference.
I guess but a long way to go for supplies!
At least two other channels have done a video on this mine, the people that let you up there are obviously aware of the mine.
The mining company let us up there. Don’t think they knew about the cabin.
Ripped metal? Sasquatch. Maybe thats why they got weird in the tunnel.
Anything is possible Marcia!
Just the look of that trail, made me tired. 😊
Took us a day to recover!
So nice to see something that isn't destroyed. You could spend hours looking at all the artifacts. Glad it's remote. Keeps the hooligans away.
It certainly does Lesley. The hike was hard work!
I’m glad you haven’t divulged the location, it won’t stay suspended in time if it gets out.
@TheRobinward yes exactly!
Wow awesome explore. Now i want me some spam
Thanks but no thanks!!! 🤣 enjoy your spam.
It would have been nice to see y'all actually try to turn that engine over yeah it's probably stuck but she didn't try hard at all by the way they didn't make serpatien belts back then. Thanks for the awesome content
🤣 glad you enjoyed it David.
Strong Reliable Jeans were in busines at least from the 1930's, into the '60's, and, of course, are collectible now.
That whole place is quite the find.
Careful when you find baby rattlers: people often overlook the fact that the rest of the family may not be very far away.
Wow. Thanks for the info about the jeans.
We were surprised to see the snake. It was cold and almost dusk!
Glad you enjoyed the explore Charles.
If the land is BLM & has lode claims, you don't need permission. The surface is still public. If it's patented claims, they own the property & you should have permission..
Thanks Jack. We did in fact have permission from the mining company to do this explore.
See you on our next adventure
And to think that ALL that stuff up there had to be brought in from who know where! Looked like a hard to get to place, hence the rather upspoiled situation it's still in. Cool! Would have loved if you could have shown a little more of the environment :-)
That hike was strenuous. Took us a day to get over it.
Happy New Year Peter.
@@PinInTheAtlas Many happy (and safe) trails for the two of you this new year :-)
@@pixelpeter3883 thanks Peter.
This mine has been the subject of several YT and website videos, but I don't remember its history.
We don’t know the history of this mining camp. Found it on google earth. We don’t think the mining operation knows there’s a cabin up there.
That tank had to be very heavy 6 gauge steel
Makes you wonder how they got that and all the equipment up there!
Makes you wonder what happened for them to abandon all that equipment/$
Maybe he passed or just to difficult to get it back out. It was way way out there and no road just a wash
My dream video is Pin In The Atlas meets History Hunters and Mobile Instinct to go camping with WonderHussy and Steve Wallis at an abandoned ghost town.
🤣 now that would be some video!
I say the Gatorade looks a bit newer.
Agree, could have been from another explorer.
Yes we were surprised by the rattler. It was cold and dusk!
@@PinInTheAtlas You were lucky with the cold. For it would make it slow.
Adhesive traps ..very cruel
Id say the last time it was most likely worked, and perhaps not even with a valid claim was early 70s. Neat place. There must be more to it though.
There was a portal further up but we couldn’t find any other buildings so not sure where the miners would have stayed.
Holy Avatar Bat Lady
🤣
It said you put this up 10 hours ago. This time of year your not going to see any snakes.
It was filmed a little while ago, we just posted yesterday.
C'mon, Andrea, SPAM is yummy! 😋🍽 My choice is SPAM Lite, in consideration of my GI tract's preference for a reduced fat diet.
🤣 spam is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever tasted. 🤮 Steve loves it!!!
I just tried the bacon spam and it's awesome
@edwardlapsley2556 🤮 still can’t tempt me Edward.
Have you tried it fried, Andrea? It's totally different than straight from the can.
@superdave1949 yes I have. That’s how Steve has it. Still disgusting 🤢
I'm curious if it's accessible with an off-road vehicle. Help to maintain stamina cause man, that's a hellova a hike, y'all got more energy than I do.
No not acceptable at all. The road was blocked. Don’t think they’ll be opening it until they start mining. Took us a day to recover!!
Isn't that water bottle in your back pocket REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE? From personal experience in a land far far away I can recommend a camel back!
🤣 I’m used to it. We do have a camel pack. We weren’t expecting the cabin to be so far. Live and learn eh?
Seeing modern garbage in old locations is just like seeing graffiti. Can't you guys Bing a bag to get rid of the modern garbage.
We do. Sometimes there’s just too much! And you are so right referring it to graffiti!
That may have been a pygmy rattlesnake
We were surprised to see it because it was cold and nearly dusk.
Surprise, Surprise. Never ever doubt a rattlesnake. If they want to be out and about ...they will .doesn't matter what time or if its cold. Always keep an eye out. Stay safe.@@PinInTheAtlas
@debbierowe1940 lesson learned Debbie. Thanks. Hope you keep enjoying our content. See you on the next adventure.
