    Question, I noticed that it has a max capacity mah cut off feature that you can set up. By default its off, but since I have a 4000mAh lipo, is it safe to set it at 4000mAh? I'm assuming that when you plug it in and set it up it can read how much mAh is in there when you go to charge it.

    Hi Captain Drone. Thank you for sharing this awesome video. Came across your channel while searching for a budget rc smart charger. I am a beginner with rc car. Question for you... should I or can I use my rc car charger that came with the car to charge up the newly made 18650 2s pack (it uses the balance port to charge the battery) or should I get this Imars III charger (thinking of buying it base on your recommendation) to charge with it? As I dont understand why or if there is a benefit to choosing Charge rather than Balance?

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhh... you must be from the old school of battery chargers. When you select CHARGE it also always balances the cells to max voltage. When you select BALANCE, it balances the cells at whatever voltage the battery is currently at. When you select STORAGE, it reduces the voltage to a storage voltage and balances the cells. When you select DISCHARGE it reduces the voltage to a much lower voltage so that you can recycle the battery, it also balances the cells.

      Please do NOT ask me where that 2,238 volt came from! I STILL don't know why that was there.
      Now I have to try to figure out why this charger charged my 11.1 V battery to 12.4 V.
      I THOUGHT it would automatically shut off once it reached 11.1 V, but NOOOooooo...., it was STILL charging when I noticed it was 12.4 showing on the dial. And the manual is a joke.

      @@longbowshooter5291I see your confusion now. A lipo battery has anywhere from one to eight cells in the RC hobby, which means you can buy one cell up to eight cell rc hobby battery chargers. Your charger is an entry level six cell charger, hence the price. Lipo batteries all have battery cells that are charged up to 4.2 volts. So if you have a 3 cell battery it becomes 4.2 volts x 3 which equals 12.6 volts fully charged which is what your charger did, so all is correct.

    I'm sorry but I don't think that this is a great deal to be honest... I mean, it's basically the same as an imax b6 charger, except for this one having a 100w rating instead of 80w for the Imax, but that isn't an issue, since this one has a 5 amp limit, so you won't even reach above 80 watts if you are charging 4s battery's... And a knock off b6 can be had for $20 on banggood... Yes, they might be a knock off, but they really work great, I've used them for years and their accuracy have been great... I think those are the real steal of a deal... Otherwise it's a great review though!
