  • Today we answer the question why international house hunters love Montenegro. We had the pleasure of house hunting with Montenegro Prospects for properties in or near Kotor Stari Grad (Old Town) which is located in the country of Montenegro.     We bought our home in Kotor Montenegro in 2016, we were enchanted by this medieval city from first sight. With the low cost of living, Mediterranean climate, UNESCO Heritage designation, and it's popularity as a tourist destination for Eastern Europeans and the British it made perfect sense to buy here. As we travel Europe over the next 5 to 10 years we will be using our home in Montenegro as our home base, rest assured our journey is not ending.

      We would have bought the stone house if we had known the market was going to go up so much. It was sold a few months before we were looking for a place. It was a great deal
      That couple are good friends of ours and they are lovely 😊

      The prices have increased a lot over the past two years, they may be stabilizing a bit. Politics, Covid, and the war have brought a lot of buyers. Escaping Ukraine, Russia, and EU taxes and strict Covid policies have boosted the housing market.

    Great content. My wife and I are planning early retirement/slow travel in 2025 with a base in Belgrade, but after watching some of your videos Montenegro is inching up in desirability.
