That first play happened sometime after the Kenny Bell block that got penalized. I know Nebraska was losing big in this game, but if that doesn't demonstrate that refs DO have favorites then I don't know what does.

as cool as they look, the belly to back suplex is dangerous in cleats. Having your feet sunk in like that and having that much weight overhead could end very badly. Especially with other players inevitably joining in on the tackle.

I understand protecting players. But how else are you supposed to tackle on some of these plays.
Exactly as long as you throw them on their side or back it should be fine.
Suplex's you just need to bring him to the side like the Clemson dude at 4:30 did which was clean. Not flip him onto his head.

I don’t understand why some of these are penalties. So, in order to avoid a penalty for an unnecessary roughness, you should just let go of the player and let him score? Tackles are rough and part of the sport. Are we going to start penalising boxers for throwing punches that are “unnecessarily hard”?
How is it a penalty to dump someone like they are Literally trying to get them on the ground. I guess if they throw themselves onto them but it just seems like if the offensive guy is going to churn forward that this can happen.
Though I think a lot of these should be penalties, I just don't like Verne and Gary.
Most of these are just dirty, and there are some slams that pick the guy up and just let him drop but throwing him over your head on his head and neck that’s a bit too much…..
The refs and the people who make these rules need to grow up. There grown men let them go out at hit them as hard as they can. Let them play

Suplex city
Picking them up and slamming them on their back should be legal if it's before the whistle is blown. The grab from behind and then planting them on their head, not so much. If you have that position and are able to get that leverage, you can just as easily go to your left or right side. Over backwards move is just flexing and very dangerous.

So it's usually just a suplex, which usually isn't called a foul.
In all reality wrestlers make great football players
