Hi Jake, I just wanted to thank you for posting this video and giving us a detailed step-by-step guide on how to apply for ILR. I followed your instructions down to the letter, and I'm happy to say that a few days ago, I received an email from the Home Office confirming that my ILR application has been successful! I submitted my online application in early Feb, went for biometrics earlier this month, and got the email 12 days after that. Thank you again and stay safe! Cheers from a fellow Filipino nurse in Manchester. x
Hi Jake , if one changes employer. How is the person to get the documents and the rota from the former employer? Does it mean one has to collect all this before leaving for another employer. I really need to change employer but l feel it may be more difficult to get the documents required for ILR application or might affect my application in some other ways. Please advise
I am my wife’s sponsor and was born in the U.K. What happened the the App the Home Office trialed during the Pandemic.Previously we went to a fast-track centre, but it seemed easier and quicker. I have filled out the form for I.L.R on the family route/10 year track. I need to get the information from Human Resources, regarding my proof of income and employment as a matter of urgency. So glad you have posted this instructional video, as it’s such a stressful time and expensive if applicants have to pay twice!
Hi there! It's my pleasure to help by sharing information. They no longer use the app. Post pandemic, it's back to the usual face to face appointment at UKVCAS centres.
@@nursejakeUK yes, this is what I’ve gathered from uploading supporting documents today and seeing the options. I guessing a Fast Track face to face is another additional cost to the I.D.L application?
Hi Jake, interesting video. I am applying ILR as Spouse and thus SET M application. Just wondered if you can help me with the below questions: I am applying for ILR VISA as Spouse of my husband who is a British citizen. He purchased a house in December 2020 and I live with him. I have been living with him since December 2017. I got my BRP on 23rd of November and Entry clearance on 29th of November, I first arrived in UK on 6th of December 2017. There are three questions which I need help from you to answer Question 1 Do you own or rent your home? Options are Own Rent Neither own or rent How much mortgage you pay each month? If you do not have mortgage enter 0 Because of the matrimonial rights I have, should I answer I own the house. My husband pays all the mortgage and council tax bills. I do not pay the mortgage, so should I enter the mortgage amount my husband pays or should I enter 0. The third question I need help is How long have you lived in UK The answer option is as below Years_____ months______ For Set M ILR application of spouse the period required is 5 years. However you can apply the application 28 days before the date. I had BRP issued on 23rd of November 2017, entry clearance on 29th of November 2017 and arrived UK on 6th of December 2017. So which date should I consider for 5 years? As it will be 4 years 11 months + 2weeks by the time I apply should I answer the question as below; How long you have lived in UK as 5 years and 0 months or 4 years and 11 months. Greatly appreciate if you can help answer these questions.
Hello Jake! First I want to say thank you so much for this video! It is a life saver (best one I have seen!!!) especially with an application like this that no one would want to mess up 😊 We will take all the help we can get! And of course for answering as many comments as possible even 2 years later after the video is posted!! You are an angel! I just got two questions in case you know and got some time, 1. I got in the UK as a Tier 4 then moved to Tier 2. I am assuming all the requirements e.g. travel history, flight confirmations and when I entered the UK, only starts when I actually got my Tier 2? (ILR Applying after 5 years on Tier 2) 2. I had multiple employers in the last 5 years. I believe I should ask for an Absence Calendar from each of them, but only the certificate of employment on the recent one? Also I had to travel for work and/or work remotely mixing it up with the holiday, how can I specify this along with the absence calendar? Very much appreciate any help or advice you can impart 😊
Hi Aeriel! Thank you for your appreciation 😊 1. Since you are using the Tier 2 pathway for ILR application, then you only need to provide travel history etc for the last 5 years. 2. Yes certificate of employment for your current employer to basically prove they still need you. With regards to the mixed work/holiday dates, just use one category. So if your remote working fell on a day you were out of the country, my advice is just count them as holiday dates to avoid confusion. They will not be digging into your remote working days specifically. All they want to see is that your dates outside UK are legitimate. When you put in these dates, there will be a free-text box where you can say this was an annual leave. Hope this helps. Good luck! Let us know when you get ILR approved 😊.
@@nursejakeUK thank you for your reply my wife is the main applicant , she is a filipina nurse and i came to the UK , 5 months after she did so she will be eligible for ILR before me in this case i will have to apply for a short extension of visa right , for those 5 months (further leave to remain) where is that option in uk home office website, further leave to remain for pbs dependent only i really appreciate your answer kuya , sorry that its very long
Hi Jake, with this question on the ILR application: "Problems with immigration to countries other than the UK Have you ever been: refused a visa for any country other than the UK deported from any country other than the UK removed from any country other than the UK required to leave any country other than the UK refused entry at the border of any country other than the UK" Should I click yes or no? I had been refused for my USA nonimmigrant visa/tourist visa application back in 2017, that was before I came to UK in 2018. I am not sure if I should say Yes or No? hope you can help me. Thank you and hoping you're having a nice day.
Hi Kaira, since it specifically asks for "immigration" (moving to live and work) to other countries and not visitor/tourist visas, then it would be a NO to all of these. Apologies for the delayed response.
Hello Jake. Good content. Just wondering so I switched from student to work visa. Not counting the time ive spent on student visa. Do I start counting from when my work brp was issued or when? Thanks
Hi Jake, Thanks for your video. This is really helpful to understand the process. One question - I am currently in the process of filling out my online ILR application (Set O, 5-Year Route) but i haven't been prompted to include my 'Uniques Application Number' (previous BRP letter details you discussed at 7.34 Sec of the video) when i started the online ILR application. I am not sure if i have missed anything so appreciate if you can share any insights. Many thanks.
Hi Jake. Thank you for all the informations. I will be applying for my ILR soon. I just want to double check coz you mentioned that you need to scan all the pages of your passport. Do I need to do that with all my old/expired passport? Thanking you in advance.
Hello 👋 Thank you for watching. Glad you found it helpful. Do this for all passports that cover your period of working in the UK. If you have the 10-year passport then it should only be one passport to scan all pages.
Hi Oisheen. If this is the ILR then it should really be for 10 years. It's probably worth calling the home office or emailing their enquiries email address. There might have been a mistake.
Hi Jake! This is a very informative video :) I'm currently processing my ILR application, can I ask about the certificate of employment, does it have to have the SOC code? My employer did not include it in the letter so I'm wondering if I need to ask for a new one. Thank you!
Hi Rai! Thank you for watching. The COE does not need to write the SOC code. As long as it says "nurse". You will need to enter the code in the online application form itself.
Hi Gray. ILR application po? No need po. You need 5 years of stay in the UK before you can apply and that's the period they will be looking at, not in other countries before that.
Hi Rasul. Thank you for watching. Birth certificate is NOT part of the documents to upload. Please see latter part of video for full list of docs I uploaded. All the best.
Hi Jake. Thanks for the detailed video. Just had a question on the SET (O) Form. Do we have to download and carry/submit a paper copy of the form to the UKVCAS? I was looking at a sample form and it has sections for Signature. If it's online submission only, do we just have to type in our name there? If they need the proper official signature of the applicant, does the form allow carrying an image? e.g. Declaration (to allow checking utility, banks) Part 1.
Hi there! Good morning. What I did was I printed it and then scanned it. I uploaded the scanned copy to the UKVCAS account. Just make sure it is scanned properly. As a general precaution because I did face to face appointment, I brought all originals with me in case the officers says one document is not clear after upload. Hope this helps!
Hi Ken! Yes you can just use your passport or TIN ID. My friend just used her passport for the National Identification and there was no problem at all.
Hi there! You should have an email to that tells you what to bring. As far as when this video was made, I brought all my passports and BRP card. All the rest they are happy with the uploaded versions.
Hi Flurin yes you need 3 months bank statement showing your monthly pay going into your account. This proves that you are indeed employed in the last 3 months before your application.
@@nursejakeUK Ok, thanks! Does the same apply for the Global Talent Visa? In is it important that the bank is located in the UK or can I still use my bank from my home country?
Hi@@flurinjenal374 since you are employed in the UK, it should go to a UK bank account. I believe employers don't deposit into foreign bank accounts for monthly salaries. So this is like a standard expectation.
Hi, thanks for the detailed video!! I have a quick question. I'm currently getting all my documents prepared for the ILR - but can I only get an appointment for the priority service once I submit my set(O) form?
@@natashathottacherry2452 If online: 1. finish the online form 2. You will be directed to UKVCAS account creation. 3. From the UKVCAS account you can book your face to face appointment. Until that day, you can keep uploading your documents.
Hi Jake, thank you for this useful video. Its really helpful and informative. Just a question 1. Since I moved from NHS to a private hospital, do I need to ask an absence calendar from my previous employment? If I can't what other documents can I provide as a proof? 2. I'm changing my maiden surname to my husband's surname on application so that in my ILR it will reflect my husband's surname. Is it possible? Thank you so much and God bless
Hi Drizz 👋 Thank you for watching my video and for appreciating. With regards to your question: 1. Your passport containing your exit and entry stamps for every trip outside UK should be okay as a minimum. Just explain in the box provided the purpose of your trip. I was just being obsessive compulsive to provide every evidence I could give 😅. 2. You have to make sure that your documents match the name in your application. If all of your documents now have your husband's surname then that's fine. BUT if your BRP, passport, etc are all in your maiden name, then you will have to submit your marriage certificate as part of your evidence uploads and make sure to put in your application that you have recently married and have not had the chance to change them. Good luck!
Hello @Drizz We have the same situation. I just want to ask when you applied for your ILR, is your surname in your passport your husband's surname or yours?
@@cristinatherese6719 hello! My passport is my husband's surname but my brp still in my maiden name. Someone told me to just do a cover letter explaining the situation.
Hi Jake, I hope you can help me. I am due to apply for ILR, my problem is my COS. The passport number where mistakenly put in the COS, instead of P567 it is P657 I have asked the HR to edit but they said they can only edit/amend the 1st CoS that they gave me (I was given two because the 1st one expired before my start date) but the 2nd COS is what is connected to my BRP. Any advise? Should I ask for a letter or affidavit from the HR stating the problem and include it to the application? I hope you can give insights. Thanks happy new year
Hi Mae. No one seems to have had this before. But maybe (1) provide both COS in your evidence uploads and (2) have a written statement from HR to say that there was a wrong entry and declare the right passport number. What they will be looking at is the COS number if it is valid. Really, you might even get away with just uploading what you already have. But for you peace of mind, I think the HR letter should be okay. They will message you if anything is missing or they have any query. It won't be a rejection straight away.
Hi jake. I can see other videos saying that the certificate of employment should be dated 1 month before the application date. Is 3months still the maximum? My coe is gonna be 2mos old from my application date. Thanks
Hi Paolo. There has been no changes with regards to this so that should be fine. Anyways your bank statement will show your salary coming in for the latest 3 months to show you are still employed with them. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Hi Jake,. I enter in the UK 12/10/2018 when can i start sending my online application application. My plan is to send it now 10/09/23 then do the biometrics past the date of 12/10/23@@nursejakeUK . Thank you
Hi there! It was surprisingly fast! I had my appointment for biometrics with UKVCAS on 23rd January then got the email saying it was approved from Home Office on the 24th January! Just one day after appointment. But I submitted my actual online application around 4 weeks before. I was just waiting for a free appointment and that was the nearest one.
Why do we need Absence Calendar and/or Employee Online Screenshot to show you are outside of the uk? Annual leaves doesn't mean you are outside the country.
Hi Mr. Celso! Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. This is not specified requirement but I just included it as supporting document to show that during those times I was outside the UK, I was still employed and being paid as those where annual leaves. You do not need to include this if you prefer not to. This is just me being extra cautious 😅. Hope this clarifies.
Hi Jake, Thanks for the information. It’s really useful. I have a query about CoS? So do I need a new CoS from my employer for ILR application or I use my last CoS information for license number? I would really appreciate your response.
Thanks the info. Just a question, what documents did you provide for evidence of residence in the UK? Did it cover your whole 5 years of stay or just your current year of stay? Thank you again!
Hi. Your BRP, Passports showing all the stamps for any outside UK trip and when coming back to UK all show your residence in UK. You have to provide all passports and all BRP (if you have been issued more than 1).
Hi! I have applied for ILR last Aug 4. ILR approved yesterday! Thank you for your help especially with the document preparation. It really helped me a lot!
@@nursejakeUK hi jake, follow up lang sa question n ate, for 5 years residence here in UK need po ba ang prove of address? Like me mag 5 years here in UK i was 3 areas where i was living, so every area ba na tirahan need ng prove of address? Thanks
@@maarouffdimaucom Hi there. No need for proof of address naman for every address. It's just the latest which goes with the address in your payslip and bank statement.
Hi Jake, Thanks fkr the great video. I have a question, what happens if I submit my application +28 days of my Tier 2 expiry date? My visa expires on 14 July 2026, so is it compulsory to submit my application on 16 June 2026??? Or I can do it any time within 28 days?
Hi Haneen! Thanks for watching. You must not apply more than 28 days before your "qualifying period". That is, meeting the 5 years stay. Even if your visa is not expiring, you can apply for ILR once you've reached the 5 year qualifying period. Visa expiry is not the basis for ILR application.
Hi there Nika. Thanks for dropping by. Guernsey is a crown dependency and is autonomous. Although it has exactly the same process of application for ILR, you can only apply for Guernsey ILR if your current visa is issued by Guernsey government. If you had a UK visa, you can work in or visit Guernsey and that is NOT counted as days outside the UK for ILR purposed. When you reach 5 years on a UK visa, then you can apply for UK ILR.
Hi Sir Jake, quick question, I have 2 employers on my 5 year stay here in the UK, do I need to provide certificate of employment from my 2 employers or just the current employer I have?
Hi there Scott! The payslip is the latest one you currently have. Let's say you log in your application on the second week of October and you are paid monthly. Your latest pay slip will be the September payslip. The bank statement must show that amount deposited to your account. So get a bank statement that covers the date when you get paid. Hope that helps!
Hi Jake, I'm on maternity leave now and my payslip before the leave does not reflect my actual in-hand salary. This is because I was off sick due to pregnancy related sickness. Would it be okay to submit those payslips. Or should I also submit the sick note .Also, can I apply for my dependents" visa extension along with my application and with single appointment Thanks in advance
Hello. If you prefer you can upload more payslips to include the 3 months before your maternity leave that shows your usual salary. At the start of the online application, there is a question of how many people you are applying for but it should be the same application (for example 2 ILR, or 2 citizenship application in one online application). I don't think you can do 2 different visas in one application as they go to different departments.
Hi Jake, Is there a part where you have to declare your dependents? I will be delivering my baby in a few months here in the UK just before I apply for my ILR. There are talks that once I get my ILR, baby can immediately be registered as a british citizen. However, I was wondering If I have to declare him and apply for his ILR so that’s an additional pay again.
Hi there! You can apply for his ILR once he's born and has the necessary identification documents. If you apply for your ILR whilst still pregnant then you only need to apply for yourself. He/she is not a dependent yet until born. And yes it will be another payment once you do apply for him. Congratulations on your pregnancy and all the best for your application!
Hi Jake, very well explained, I have a query, 5 years will start from landing date or the date of visa issued? Another thing is the bank statement, is it necessary to stamp the bank statement or just online statement in pdf format is enough ?
Hi Waqar! Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. 👋 The 5 years is from landing and not the issue date. For bank statement, if you receive by post monthly straight from the bank that is okay. If you print it, it needs to be stamped at branch for authenticity.
Thanks for your prompt response, any advise on submitting employer contract signed copies with COS (certificate of sponsorship), is it important to submit ? As I am already submitting scanned copies of BRP Card & Home office letters.
Mr Jake, I really appreciate the way you are progressing in your channel and in this difficult time of Pandemic it’s very difficult to arrange a huge ILR cost and at this time no body afford to hire an immigration lawyer and i think with the help of each other we can survive in this time and I really appreciate you are helping the community who are in process of ILR or any other VISA. Great efforts 👍🏼. Do you mind if I can message you here if I need any other advise from you ?
Hi Fillisa. Not necessarily. If I remember correctly, it is not required to upload council tax bill as well. But make sure the address on your bank statement matches that of your application details.
Hi Jake, thanks for the video! I'm currently applying for ILR after 5 years on Tier 2/Skilled Worker visa. I am currently completing the application however when it got to the sponsor license number, I inputed my current sponsor and it comes up as 'Sponsor license cannot be found'. I have checked with my employer's HR and they said I have the correct number and they are currently on the list of UK sponsors. Should I proceed with the application without inputing the sponsor license number? Need some help. Thanks!
Hi Jessie. This should be the number that is in the COS. Try it again, in case there was one character missing or in the wrong order. Otherwise does it allow you to still proceed with the number even if it says not found? If yes, then write the number in the form and proceed. You will be uploading your COS anyway so that will be your proof.
Hi Flurin. No you don't need to show evidence of accommodation. The bank statement will serve as your proof of address. They don't need to know what accommodation you had. They only need to know that you were really living and working in the UK suring the claimed period.
Hello Jake, For the Home Office Consent. Do I just sign part 1? Do I leave part 2 and part 3 blank if they're not applicable? Part 3 is not for the employer right? thanks so much!
Hi there. Apologies for the late reply. I hope this was sorted already. If not, yes you only need to upload those that are applicable. I hope your application is successful.
Hi po, need po ba nila physical card ng previous BRPs kasi yung sa akin ay pinutol ko na and sent it back to home office as instructed dun sa letter na pinadala nila. I only have scanned copies
Hi there. So what do you currently have to prove your right to work in the UK? That's the one you need to show along with your passport. Yung luma or first na BRP na expired hindi na hahanapin yun.
Hi Adeola, it will depend on the visa tier but it will be exact same requirements including the English test and LITUK test. See more info here: www.gov.uk/indefinite-leave-to-remain-family/partner-dependant-work-visa
Hi, Jake! I've been watching your vlogs about the ILR application and they have been so informative. Good job! :) I just wanted to ask, my current BRP will be expiring on May 2022. And, I am already planning to apply for ILR around 2nd to the last week of April 2022 (according to the 28-day rule that you've mentioned in one of your vlogs as well). I know it would take at least 6 months for the Home Office to come up with a decision on my application (if I don't get it fast-tracked). What will happen if within those 6 months of waiting time, my current visa expires? Do I need to renew my current visa before it expires while I'm waiting? Thank you in advance. :)
Hi Maeh! Thank you for kind comments 😊. Some of my colleagues were able to continue working even when their visa was expired but they provided their proof of application for the ILR. I am not sure if this is the same with your employer but it would be wise to ask your HR department specifically for your situation as they may have a different policy.
Hi Jake, How many days before i can open online profile. I know i can apply 28days before to fill 5 years in UK. I was thinking if i can open online form two months early, it could help to find appointment easily and checking the uploaded file sizes. Does the appointment can be book before clicking the final submit button of the application form?
Hi Delwar. If I recall correctly, you can only get to the appointments page once you've completed the form. But you can continue to add or modify your uploaded documents on UKVCAS account until your face to face appointment or your virtual upload of biometrics. So yes within 28 days before, you can complete your form and look for a suitable appointment.
Hi Tab. Thank you for watching. Are you referring to the Certificate of Employment? Each company or employer will have it's own format. There is no generic template. They should be the one to make it for you.
Hi... jake when I finish fill the application, I should summit it with the document Or application first , then document . when to pay the fee? How if I want to have super priority? Thanks
Hi there. On the last part of the application you will be able to choose if priority or standard and pay. Then as soon as you submit the application, it will automatically direct you to UKVCAS where you will upload your documents and book a face to face appointment.
Yes the consent is signed by the applicant as per my experience unless there is a change? Please read the consent form carefully or if you want send me a screenshot of the empty consent form on my FB page.
Hi Jo! No you have to make sure you upload it before your appointment. You still bring everything with you though during the appointment just in case it comes back blurred or not clear in their system. But they will not upload everything for you on the appointment day. That day is for your biometrics basically.
Hi Jan! Thanks for watching. No need to provide any tenancy agreements at all. Your passport will show the dates you've been in or out of the country. Good luck with the application!
Thank you, I am preparing for my ILR visa and just gathering my documents that needed to be uploaded. Thank you again for this video, it really helped clarify things for me. One last question, when you upload documents, can you upload one document at a time and go back a few days to upload more or can you just upload once only?
@@karenorayan4027 You can upload multiple times, not just once in the UKVCAS account. If you do the biometrics by phone and not in person that will be a one off chance to take photo and fingerprint. Once submitted you cannot redo it.
Another question: Can we also lose ILR status if we are not staying in the UK anymore after getting it? If yes, how long after not staying in the UK anymore would cause us to lose the ILR?
Hi Jake, Thanks for this video. Just wanted to ask about sa part asking for the dates of absences in the UK. It asks for the dates I left the uk and returned in the uk. If I had travelled 2 countries in Europe magkasunod for a holiday, would I need to put it as one entry lang and just explain that I went to country A for a few days then from there went to country B, and flew back to UK from country B? Would it make more sense kc date I left UK is when i left for A, then date returned to UK is from country B na? Sorry, its a bit confusing. Thank youuuuu!
Yes that would be fine. You can put them as one episode (entry) of travel outside UK. What they are looking for are the dates out of UK and not really where you went anyway. Thank you for watching and I hope you get your successful application in no time. 😊
Hi, thanks for made this video, why they asking a lot for exact date of everything!? Is it because they don’t know those date ? Or they want to test our memories!?
Hi Nick! I believe it the info that will help them do a background check and confirm that no illegal entry etc has been done. It's all part of the process I'm afraid.
Hi there. I had a friend with a similar situation. It was even longer (I think 2 months). She provided a document issued by the town or local government declaring that the area is in lockdown and no flights are available etc. She was approved.
Hello Jake. I just passed my life in the uk test few days ago and thank you for your video about the tips. :) I just got married recently and I am applying for a new passport to have my surname changed. Hopefully, hindi matagal ang process sa philippine embassy london with regards sa pagrelease ng passport. I have some questions and hopefully you know someone na same ng situation ko. 1. Once I receive my new passport using my husband's surname..need ko pa ba magchange ng skilled worker brp reflecting my husband's surname OR ok lang ba na dumeretso na ako magapply for ILR using my skilled worker brp using my old surname? I will just provide my marriage certificate and my new passport reflecting my husband's surname. 2. My brp will expire on August 2024. Is it ok to apply for ILR as early as this year 2023? 3. I transferred to a new employer/NHS hospital last 2021. In total, I worked in 2 NHS trusts for my 5 yrs of stay in the UK. Ung absence calendar ok lang ba na sa recent NHS trust lang maiprovide? 4. Nadispose ko na ung flight confirmations ko and wala nadin sa emails ko. Anong ok na alternative dito? Hoping for your reply. Thank you.
Hi Cristina! I'm glad the tips for the LITUK test were helpful and well-done for passing the test. For your questions: 1. No need to change BRP just for married family name. Yes please upload marriage certificate and passport with new surname. 2. Regardless of when your BRP expires, as long as you have reached the 5 year period with acceptable number of days outside UK then you can apply now. 3. Yes. The absence calendar would be more useful for long periods outside UK. If you can get hold of it, that would be better. If not, just explain in the free-text box what the purpose of the trip was. The dates are reflected in your passport anyway. 4. Again these are supporting docs but not must upload docs like passport or BRP. So that would be fine. Hope this helps!
@@nursejakeUK Thank you, Jake. Another question, I have total of 5 passports since I started to have one when I was in highschool. Do I need to scan lahat talaga?
Hi Jake can I reduce my working hrs from 37.5 to 34.5 so I could only do 3 shifts a week? Will it still be considered full time working and will not affect my application for IRL in the future? Salamat
Hi Amanda 👋. No that is no longer full time. But if you are a nurse, you are on the shortage occupation list so you don't have to meet the salary requirement that can only be met by full time work. As long as it shows you've got salary coming in per month and you have a COE that shows you are still employed and will continue to be employed after ILR, that should be fine.
Hi. Part 1 dapat ma sign mo. Part 2 fill mo if may documents ka na may joint name like say joint bank account with the partner. If may financial sponsor ka na magbabayad ng visa mo e fill yung part 3. So in short if you are doing the application by your own, using your own money and no joint accounts, sign only part 1.

Hi Stephen! Yes this video is based on Tier 2 visa. Most requirements are applicable though. You will need more documents for spouse visa route like your marriage certificate, etc.
Hi Esther, just put exactly what it is. Like if you scan your passport just name it as "Passport Esther Priya"; Barclays Bank Statement November, or "Certificate of Employment 2020"; etc.
Hi jake I want to apply ILR 10 yr Uk residency route but I lost my old passport what I can do ?plz answer if you know anything can help me out thanks 🙏
Hi Ali. In this case you do a "Subject Access Request" for free. This will give you all the records that would have been in your old passport that relates to your arrival or leaving the UK for holidays, etc. You can read more and how to do this on this website: www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=c0776c68-aebc-4bef-9c0e-6d010e05ec6a

Hello po! Thank you for this video! I have a question, I live with my boyfriend po sa flat and we have a joint utility bill sa Council tax. Does he need to sign the Home office consent form in Part 2? (It says joint account or joint utility bill)? and sa part 3 po, kailangan po ba to ng signature from our employer?
Hello Vee. Apologies this was at the bottom of the list in creator studio. Has you managed to apply? If your boyfriend is not part of the application, there is no need for his signature. You can use a council tax bill even if there are several names on it, as long as your name is on it. What did you mean when you said part 3?
Hi Colins. Thanks for watching. The decision may take up to 6 months in non-covid conditions. At the moment some have experienced ILR decision beyond 6 months after submitting the application. So, the sooner you apply, the better.

Hi Anika! Thank you for watching. Yes the certificate of employment is sufficient to prove that you are still needed for work purposes. I submitted the same. Just make sure it contains your job title, salary per annum, and the start date. I wish you a successful application. 👍

Hi Jake thanks for the video.... I am busy using set O online forms but my one daughter has gotten married to a British man in the 5 years. She is 20. Now it seems she cannot get ILR on mine... How does she apply. Please help I am so stressed... Thank you
Hi Bev. Thank you for watching. If your daughter is married to a British citizen then she can apply for ILR via the spouse/family visa she currently has. See full guidance here in gov website: www.gov.uk/indefinite-leave-to-remain-family/partner-family-visa. Hi Jake, interesting video. I am applying ILR as Spouse and thus SET M application. Just wondered if you can help me with the below questions:
I am applying for ILR VISA as Spouse of my husband who is a British citizen. He purchased a house in December 2020 and I live with him. I have been living with him since December 2017.
I got my BRP on 23rd of November and Entry clearance on 29th of November, I first arrived in UK on 6th of December 2017.
There are three questions which I need help from you to answer
Question 1
Do you own or rent your home?
Options are
Own
Rent
Neither own or rent
How much mortgage you pay each month?
If you do not have mortgage enter 0
Because of the matrimonial rights I have, should I answer I own the house. My husband pays all the mortgage and council tax bills. I do not pay the mortgage, so should I enter the mortgage amount my husband pays or should I enter 0.
The third question I need help is
How long have you lived in UK
The answer option is as below
Years_____ months______
For Set M ILR application of spouse the period required is 5 years. However you can apply the application 28 days before the date.
I had BRP issued on 23rd of November 2017, entry clearance on 29th of November 2017 and arrived UK on 6th of December 2017.
So which date should I consider for 5 years?
As it will be 4 years 11 months + 2weeks by the time I apply should I answer the question as below;
How long you have lived in UK as
5 years and 0 months
or
4 years and 11 months.
I just got two questions in case you know and got some time,
1. I got in the UK as a Tier 4 then moved to Tier 2. I am assuming all the requirements e.g. travel history, flight confirmations and when I entered the UK, only starts when I actually got my Tier 2? (ILR Applying after 5 years on Tier 2)
Hi Aeriel! Thank you for your appreciation 😊
Good luck! Let us know when you get ILR approved 😊.
thanks for the video jake , really helpful , do you think we would need a solicitor to apply for ILR ? in your opinion ?

2. I'm changing my maiden surname to my husband's surname on application so that in my ILR it will reflect my husband's surname. Is it possible?
Thank you so much and God bless
Hi Drizz 👋 Thank you for watching my video and for appreciating. With regards to your question:
Good luck!

Why do we need Absence Calendar and/or
Employee Online Screenshot to show you are outside
of the uk? Annual leaves doesn't mean you are outside
the country.
Hi Mr.
Hi Jake,
Thanks for the information. It’s really useful. I have a query about CoS? So do I need a new CoS from my employer for ILR application or I use my last CoS information for license number? I would really appreciate your response.
Hi Aman, I used the same COS number from when I was first deployed to UK. No need for new COS. Good luck with your application. 👍

Hi Jake,
Thanks fkr the great video.
Hello Jake. Regarding the payslip and bank statement, is it only required na latest lang? Or 3 mos?
Hi Cristina 👋 Thanks for watching.1 bank statement showing 3 months if possible. Last 3 months of payslip din po.
Thanks for sharing! Stay safe and connected! Keep in touch!
Thank you sir Aries.
Hi Jake! I would like to ask if I can apply for an ILR for UK while working in Channel Island- Guernsey? Thanks
Thanks for the support. Supporting back. Keep safe
Hi Sir Jake, quick question, I have 2 employers on my 5 year stay here in the UK, do I need to provide certificate of employment from my 2 employers or just the current employer I have?
Hi Leen! Just the current one po to show ongoing employment, that you are still needed here in UK.
Thank you for watching and leaving a question by the way. Much appreciated.
Hi just a question, does the payslip and bank needs to be less than a month or not earlier than a calendar month?
Hi there Scott! The payslip is the latest one you currently have. Let's say you log in your application on the second week of October and you are paid monthly. Your latest pay slip will be the September payslip. The bank statement must show that amount deposited to your account. So get a bank statement that covers the date when you get paid.
Hope that helps!
@@nursejakeUK thank you!
Hi Jake, I'm on maternity leave now and my payslip before the leave does not reflect my actual in-hand salary. This is because I was off sick due to pregnancy related sickness. Would it be okay to submit those payslips.
Or should I also submit the sick note .Also, can I apply for my dependents" visa extension along with my application and with single appointment
Thanks in advance
@@nursejakeUK thank you
Thank you! This is very helpful!
Hi Jake,
Is there a part where you have to declare your dependents?
Maraming salamat po sa pag share nang iyong video po. From wog po pala.
The 5 years is from landing and not the issue date.
@@makuwala1 There was no need to include the contract. Just the COE and Certificate of Sponsorship was enough.

Hi Jake. Do I need to be registered or paying council tax to be able to be granted ILR?
Another question: Do we need to show evidence of the accomodation we lived at during our stay in the UK?
Hi Flurin. No you don't need to show evidence of accommodation. The bank statement will serve as your proof of address. They don't need to know what accommodation you had. They only need to know that you were really living and working in the UK suring the claimed period.
@@nursejakeUK Thanks for helping!

Thank you very much. How does one apply for dependants
Hi Adeola, it will depend on the visa tier but it will be exact same requirements including the English test and LITUK test. See more info here: www.gov.uk/indefinite-leave-to-remain-family/partner-dependant-work-visa
Hi, Jake! I've been watching your vlogs about the ILR application and they have been so informative. Good job! :)
I just wanted to ask, my current BRP will be expiring on May 2022.
Will do. Thank you for your quick reply, Jake! More power to you! 😊
Hi Jake. Very informative and helpful video. Could you please share a template for the employer letter?
Hi Tab. Thank you for watching. Are you referring to the Certificate of Employment? Each company or employer will have it's own format. There is no generic template. They should be the one to make it for you.
@@nursejakeUK Does the Certificate of Employment has a standard template required by the Home Office?
@@tabishwasti No. It can be any as per individual employer. Make sure it has start date and salary.
Hi... jake when I finish fill the application, I should summit it with the document Or application first , then document . when to pay the fee? How if I want to have super priority? Thanks
Hi there. On the last part of the application you will be able to choose if priority or standard and pay. Then as soon as you submit the application, it will automatically direct you to UKVCAS where you will upload your documents and book a face to face appointment.
Hi jake, i wanted to ask that am I (the applicant) signing all 3 parts of the Home office Consent form as I do not have any other person as sponsor?
Yes the consent is signed by the applicant as per my experience unless there is a change? Please read the consent form carefully or if you want send me a screenshot of the empty consent form on my FB page.
Do we need DBS for ILR application
Hi Anu. No it is not needed for uploading as evidence.
Hi Jake, can I submit pdf or electronic documents on the date of appointment?
Hi Jo! No you have to make sure you upload it before your appointment. You still bring everything with you though during the appointment just in case it comes back blurred or not clear in their system. But they will not upload everything for you on the appointment day. That day is for your biometrics basically.
Hi sir! Regarding proof of continuous stay in UK, do we need to provide all the tenancy agreements from the beginning of stay in UK?
Hi Jan! Thanks for watching. No need to provide any tenancy agreements at all. Your passport will show the dates you've been in or out of the country.
Good luck with the application!
Hello sir, can I ask, did you scan all the pages of your passport, the expired and the new?
Yes. You need to scan all pages from front to back cover of all your passports that cover your stay in UK.
Even if the pages are blank.
That would be 2 years continuous stay outside of UK.

Hi Jake,
Thanks for this video.

What if I have 20 days of unauthorized leave(had to extend the holiday due to covid and flight cancellation)
Will it affect my ILR application
For your questions:

Hi sir,
May question ulit. Sa consent form sa home office. Did you scan, signed and upload part 1 only or kasali part 2 and 3?

Hi Emjae. The permanent residents/ILR in Channel Islands is not equivalent to being ILR in UK. You can travel to visit UK without a need for visa but in terms of working in the UK, you would need to apply for a separate and applicable UK visa.
Hi Jake, I had question on proof of accommodation. I am living with my friend and my name is on the council tax, but I do not have a contract with him. What are the documents I would need to prove my accommodation?
Hi Amith. The council tax bill would be okay. How about your bank statements? You can request for printed statement showing your address that would also be acceptable.
@@nursejakeUK Thanks Jake, but Do I fill the form as "others" and provide a free statement that I am living with my friend? Or shall i fill it as "Renting"?I am very confused.
@@amithr7664 It is not your house right? So yes, it is renting.
@@nursejakeUK Thanks again for the reply Jake. But as I mentioned I do not have an agreement as proof to attach to my application. Would that be a problem?
@@amithr7664 I don't think that would be a problem. I wasn't asked for a tenancy agreement. I used bank statement as proof of address and it was fine. If they do ask later on (which I don't think they will), you can draft one up with your friend and have both signatures. Let me know if you need this later on. I can send you draft format. Follow me on my FB page and I can get your private details there.
hi. Currently I am on my post study work Visa. I want to apply for my work permit visa. My company told me to pay the Ihs fee. I want to borrow some money from my friend. Does it going to affect my IlR application in a long run? Also I am going to pay back those money. Thanks
Hi Nabila, borrowing money is not grounds for rejection for ILR unless it becomes a legal matter (becomes a case or there is a formal complaint against you for not paying it back). If you make sure you pay it back then it should not be a problem.
@@nursejakeUK thank you so much!!!
Hi Jake. Thanks for d video; so helpful. Which IELTS report form did use? I have mine that I used for my first visa when entering the UK in 2015. It is IELTS Life Skills A1 Speaking and Listening Test Report Form. Can I use this???
Hi there. What type of visa do you currently have so I can just double check. Is it Tier 2?
Hi. Just checked the list. Yes you can use the IELTS Life Skills A1 Speaking and Listening 👍
Spouse visa and am applying for indefinite leave to remain. Thanks
@@nursejakeUK Thanks Jake.
Hi Jake ask lng kung ok lng bah ung A1 pag apply ng ILR ung Visa ko kay SPOUSE/PARTNER LEAVE TO REMAIN thanks Jake
Hello. I am a nurse and i have a query about when to apply for my ILR. My entry date into the UK was 22/3/2017 on a tier 2 visa. This was cancelled by my sponsor in June on grounds of not fulfiling the NMC requirement. But I applied for another Tier 2 visa in August 2017 with the same sponsor. This was granted in October 2017. My query is that when do I start counting my 5 years continuous residency? Is it starting from my entry date or from the date of my second tier 2 visa? I have been receiving conflicting responses. Hoping to hear from you. Many thanks.
Hi Fola! Have you been in UK since 22nd March? You did not have to leave UK and come back in August?
@@nursejakeUK Yes, I have not travelled outside the UK till present.
@@folakemi2708 So all that time until the new visa, it was a valid working visa. Basically it was just changed to a different one. So the counting should be the first date you arrived in the UK.
@@nursejakeUK You are quite helpful. I thought so too. Thank you so much.
@@folakemi2708 You're welcome! Good luck with your application. I will be doing one video for citizenship application soon. Will be helpful for you as well a year after you get your ILR. So stay connected 😊.
Hi Jake, thank you very much for your effort to made this video, i have few questions, my visa was Spouse Visa so still need the certificate of sponsorship from the employer? Or COE would be enough? much appreciate your reply, thanks
Hi Maarouff. If you have your old COS and that is still the same employer then yes include it. If you changed employer, COE should be fine.
Thanks a lot sir jake for your replied!
How long can u save filled online application in the system before you submit it
Hi Ruth. Honestly I do not know this one. For me as soon as everything was complete I submitted it so it can be processed immediately. There wasn't any notification or message when I created the account regarding this.

Hi there!
If I am a British citizen, is it possible to apply ILR directly for my spouse (who is in birth country) to get her directly to the UK?
Hi Shanmugan, thank you for watching and leaving question. The spouse has to live in the UK first. Full set of eligibility criteria on UK gov page on this link: www.gov.uk/indefinite-leave-to-remain-family/partner-family-visa
@@nursejakeUK For how long she has to stay in UK for ILR with being married to a British citizen?
And...
Firstly how can I get her to the UK from her birth country if I am a British citizen?
Hi Jake, Ask ko lang may certain amount bang money dapat magreflect sa bank statement? because most of my money, I transfer in my savings account.
Thank you. God bless!
Hi Kaycee! No there is no specific amount needed. They just need to see that there is a monthly salary coming in from your employer to your bank account.
thankyou 😊
Hii,thank u for ur information. Can u tell me how many month's bank statement i show? Can i show recent 5 month statement? Plzzz answer me 🙏
Hi. 3 months is okay. As long as it shows the your monthly salary going into your account every month.
Thank u.can u know this situation time where submit document? Is it post office when finger print? And another my baby due on april so can i stop my work. Is it problem for ILR?
Please is someone who is paid 10.62/hr under health and care visa meet the minimum wage requirement for ILR?
Hi there. No most healthcare workers don't reach the minimum wage but we are exempted as we are in the shortage occupation list. Check the link in the video description that goes to this list to check if you are eligible.
Hi Jake , Thanks for the Video I have a question . I went out of UK for 50 days in a year , as per annual holidays 30 days but it is more than 30 days how I need to mention remaining 20 for this holiday Is I need to provide any evidence from employer for these 50 days
Hi Praveen? Were the 20 days authorised /unpaid leave? This should be okay. As long as for the 5 years, you don't exceed the time limit outside UK.
@@nursejakeUKThanks for the reply Jake. Actually that 20 days I worked from india. As employer agreed he knows it.

Why uk ilr process take to much time?
Hi I believe they are still processing the backlog applications before and during last year's pandemic time. I applied before the pandemic and I got my ILR in less than 3 weeks at that time.
