So many of you had asked me in the comments section about How to get Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK! So in this video, we will be discussing the Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK and the process for getting this through the Skilled visa(Tier 2 visa).
I will be covering a list of documents needed for both the main applicant and dependent, the total cost, and my tips at the end.
All tips included within this application are based on my own personal experience of successfully obtaining my ILR application and helped me immensely.

Please note that the minimum salary requirement doesn't apply to people who are on Tier 5 visas like Ancestry Visa. It is only for those on Tier 2 etc.

(should it be last 6 months of 5 years or UKVI would see/need the whole 5 years tax history to be attached?)

I have a question- Me and my family will be completing our 5 year stay in UK (Skilled Worker) in June 2024, Our BRPs expire in July 2024. So technically we have to start the ILR application in June 2024.
I have changed my job, and have a new BRP which has an extended expiry in Dec 2024 and my family's BRP still expires in July 2024.
Can I apply the ILR application for all in June 2024?
Hi Sarika. Is my spouse required to give an English language test for ILR even if she hasn't given it as a dependent before?
I am the main applicant. And only I had to give IELTS while applying for job here. Later, there was no need to give the test while renewing the visa. It's the same that works for me even for ILR, but just worried if wife has to give for ILR.

Thank you @sarika. I got a doubt kindly advise. What will happen if i enter uk 1 month after the actual entry date pproved by immigration. My entry clearance sticker got validity from 8th may 22 to 8th july 22. I will enter uk on 9th june. My question is from when should i calculate the qualified calander days? Is it from date of entry into uk or entry clearance date. Pls clarify thanks in advavnce

The estimated cost for each applicant is around £3000. Therefore, if there is a main applicant and a dependent candidate, the cost would be £3000 for each individual?

Thanks for making this informative video. I have a few questions.
Absence letter from past employers:
- Do I need to get an absence letter from all past employers?
- What if I am not able to get the letters from past employers (in case they disagree to provide them, my ex employer doesn't do it because its against their policy)?
- Does my dependent also need to submit an absence letter from her employer or is this required only for the main applicant?
- If I have left my job, should I get the absence letter from my EX-employer now, or wait till I am eligible for PR in 4 years and then apply for the absence letter? Is there a validity of the absence letter?
Q. For dependent living together proof:
- Do I have to show proof of living together for the entire 5 years? Do I have to submit utility bills for the whole 5 years (60 months) which is 60 bills?

@@Waqas_093 Yes, I did from other sources after this “so-called TH-camr” ghosted me. The absence letter is not a mandatory document anymore. I talked to some people who got ILR without submitting this doc.

I have very serious questions to ask? I have my husband living in UK, and I am legally married to him. How would I apply or join my husband in England, he has settled status right now. my company is asking for IELTS 6.5 band to prove it to get a certificate of sponsorship from the home office, is it required by the home office to have 6.5 bands to give a certificate of sponsorship.???

I only use my bank statements and stamps in my passport to show I wasn't absent . Used p60s and whatever wageslip i could find.

I know it costs £2408 for the ILR. I don't think you have to pay the international healthcare surcharge again.

Hi Sarika, I am applying for ILR and didn't see the option to choose Priority or Super Priority at the payment page. What should I do? Will a solicitor be able to help? Thank you
There is a quota on the priority service and it is not available always. I suggest trying to check from time to time to find an available slot.
Hi Sarika can you please explain this line “You must have spent no more than 180 days outside the UK in any 12 months.” What I understood is that I am allowed to spend less than 180 days outside of uk each year until 5 years, is that right? I am on partner dependent visa, I had to travel India for emergency and I may have exceeded more than 180 days in total until now, we should be eligible for ILR next year in November. @@PearlUK11 "No more than 180 days' absences are allowed in a consecutive 12-month period." Which means it is a moving time period, there is no specific start and end date. For example from 12 March 2021 to 12 March 2022, or 1 April 2021 to 1April 2022.

You can use your NARIC certificate but make sure you got it by following the red route, because blue route will not be accepted for settlement.

Hey u can switch . Your clock doesn’t start from zero again . So rule is u need to be on Skilled visa for 5 years where u can work for either one employer or more than one .

1. U can change sponsor as many times as u want
2. Doesn’t matter as long as it’s total 5 years on Skilled visa .

Hello...we can apply ILR the 28 days before 5 years, so that will be counted from BRP issue date ? Or COS date ? I have COS starting from 21st April 2022 , BRP issue date is 30th March 2022 so which date I should consider for 5 years completion ?

Can u expand what is HSMP as I don’t think there is any U.K. visa which exists like this . Old name of Skilled visa in 90’s was HSMP , later it was changed to Tier 2 general & now it is called Skilled visa .

Yes you can. Once you get your ILR you can apply for British citizenship for your kids

I am going to apply for settlement ILR under the tier2 scheme and I know the earliest I can apply is 28 days before my 5 years fills & also before my current visa expires. Is it acceptable if I pay extra for a fast decision (means 28 days earlier plus requesting for super fast priority service) or is it too risky & my application may be refused ? sorry- I hope it makes sense. thanks again anyway.
