when people shit on KH, or anything entertainment wise, I just want to show them the door and be like, "please leave, I'm eating and you're shitting on my food."
"Sora! Dinner's ready! ... Sora?" It's been 3 years since I last called out for my son... my precious dim witted but always smiling and happy boy. The darkness that took his place in my heart drove me to tears every night, as I stared at that moldy 3 year old plate, unable to throw it out, imagining my beautiful child eating, saying, "thanks mom! my dinner is my power!"
When I say “make it more like KH2” I don’t mean rip out the flow motion and shotlocks and keyblade transformations, KEEP ALL OF THAT 🔥🔥🔥 Those are things that were added since KH2 that aimed to level up the experience and actually did a good job - What they should NOT continue to do is use HANDHELD GAMES as EXCUSES to justify: -destroying their best received combat system of all time -less worlds -less enemies -shorter campaign than PS2 predecessors -no Colosseum trials -no sephiroth fight -half of twilight town, no seven wonders, no tower, no inside mansion -no hollow bastion (have we strayed this far?…) etc. - all of THAT stuff is that spinoff energy.
This game gotta come out in 2023 reasons I say why is because the Xehanort saga has been dealt with in kh3 which means kh4 is a fresh beginning because now we might get to explore final fantasy worlds! 😀😀 hopefully no confusing plots
I make fun of KH as much as the next person, but the people that repeat the same 3 overdone and stale jokes/memes do so only to bait fans and be killjoys, that's the only reason why they keep doing it. As if long time hardcore fans haven't already joked or complained about the labyrinthian plot and overall campiness KH has had since day 1.
5:24 you know what would be cool? If we got Dearly Beloved as like a little nod or Easter egg like… Sora could be walking around Quadratum, maybe he walks into a bar or restaurant and there’s a musician playing it softly on a piano in the corner or something
I don't blame people for leaving Kingdom Hearts after KH3. My brother who introduced me to the series did just that and I don't blame him. He never really got into the mobile games so as far as he was concerned KH3 was his closure to the series. But then there's people like me who really get into it and will not stop even if nothing makes sense to me. I'm still going to the very end because I LOVE KINGDOM HEARTS!
I don't blame people disappointed, but holy crap reddit comments are something else. You'd think KH3 was Sonic 06 with how many comments there claim to just be turned off from the series due to Kh3. Disappointinig =/= bad per se. But hey, it's reddit. I'm sure half those people will also buy the game on release anyway when they get caught on the hype wave.
@@raze2012_ I completely agree I was waiting for KH3 since it got announced and I think it's a solid game especially with the DLC. It was definitely disappointing considering the wait but people act like it's the worst game ever made
I loved kh3, and still do. But honestly the way that the 2fm fans have been treating me and everyone else who likes kh3, it's been ruining my enjoyment of kh2fm. Went from my 2nd favorite game in the series to the 4th
If you look at the history of the intro music of all the games, you'll notice that the 1st game was more upbeat because of a start of a new adventure. The sequel was more depressing because of friends being separated and worlds being destroyed. The 3rd game was more about facing your fears and facing The big final obstacle. I'm pretty sure they are probably going to make Kingdom Hearts 4 a theme that is both upbeat for a start of a new Adventure And probably a little depressing as well, Since sora needs rescuing.
It’s always funny to me how riled up people can get about Kingdom Hearts’ story being “confusing & convoluted”, whereas the original KH for me was one of the very first Disney things I was introduced to at the very young age of 4! I’ve since followed along each and every game release with the different systems. I think DDD was the only one that made me go “WTF?” with the plot, but even then it didn’t sour my love for this series to such an insane degree! 😂
Same here DDD was kind of a mind fuck for me too KH3 kind of was to a lesser extent but overall the series is really not a complicated as ppl make it out to be
It’s like Metal Gear: it may seem confusing to people looking at it from the outside but those who actually play the games don’t have nearly as hard of a time following along. And both are overwhelming to explain to newcomers.
Although I don't blame them, there are some parts of the game where people couldn't comprehend it (mostly on Union X plot) but I always tell them to wait because it will be explained or revealed later on in the next stories.
@@redstreak9430 If people... ahem, normies... confused with KH, I don't know if they can handle franchise like Metal Gear Solid, Zero Escape, Steins;Gate, etc.
I wish people would grasp the idea that “campy” is a quality, series like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Doctor Who thrive on that appeal. Kingdom Hearts is no different.
I think you guys are just coping, like c'mon you're telling me you have 0 issues with the story? And I'm not talking about it being convoluted I liked the story of KH and made sense even with the retcons until DDD it was from 0.2 onwards that the story dipped mostly in terms of characters and pacing, not to mention not a lot of fans played X/unchained X/union X/Dark Road nor want to because it was a "phone" so it's kinda unfair that KH4 and the next saga is focused on something not everyone played nor can play
@@Rex13013 That’s a fair criticism. I was referring to “critics” who don’t get campiness. Some will instead point to moments like “Mickey! It’s Riku! They put bugs in him!”, “You’re stupid!”, “Did somebody mention the Door to Darkness?”, and the entirety of Goofy’s “death” moment. Those moments prime for those “out of context” comps make Kingdom Hearts appealing to so many, a storyteller who isn’t the strongest but puts their absolute heart into their story and will take criticism is great to see. I know Nomura takes criticism considering FF7R has way more human-feeling dialogue, and KH3 will make fun of itself a whole lot.
@@Rex13013 unchainedx, union cross and dark road were confirmed to be part of the series and canon a long time ago. For a fan who focused on story than gameplay I think it is on them not following even after confirmation (I don't mean this in a mean way). While I understand the cons of mobile gaming. I also believe that the mobile is good for those that don't have consoles, it is actually more accessible.
@@corrinflakes9659 If you're referring to that kind of campiness then I agree, the one that bothers me is when people point the the "me? I'm already half Xehanort" one when that pretty well hinted at in BBS (along with Saix being there) with the close up to his new golden eye in the keyblade graveyard, and Saix because he had blue eyes but golden eyes and a change of personality in days/kh2 so that was an "I knew it" moment for me. KH has always been kinda campy so I don't really mind those moments
Its funny how 90% of the people that saw the trailer has no idea at all who Strelitzia is. When i saw her i literally jumped on my chair 🤣 But im still waiting for a 3D model of Skuld, i will not be happy until this happens.
unfortunately, i dont follow the UCX lore, may have to check it out someday. But im sure she's related to that game. Also, probably nothing with the girl they kept mentioning in KH3?
Seeing as how Ventus is my favorite Kh character strelitza is very important to me, because I want them to meet again. In general, I want Ventus to get his own game soon
What I’ll say about the “Kingdom hearts is convoluted” discussion is, it was for a while because we didn’t have all of the pieces to the puzzle. And although we technically don’t now, by dream drop distance we had enough puzzle pieces to at least sort of understand the plot clearly, and then dream drop distance happened and made everything fucky wucky again, But we’ve also kind of got it back now with Kingdom Hearts III
Really all of the game plots are fine except for DDD. It has some awesome moments and is a fun game but Sora is so flanderized and all the retcons are frustrating. The time travel stuff and nobodies indeed having hearts makes no sense and is just complicated, not complex.
Here's the thing... Kingdom Hearts isn't convoluted or confusing... it's just a ton to remember... and if you play the games in the correct order you get all the information you need to understand the bare minimum... if you get all the secret reports and take the time to read them in order you learn everything you will ever need to know... the difficulty comes in how to explain the series to someone who hasn't played the games since most people are trying to do things chronologically within the games when they really should try explaining things over time in order you get the information from the games themselves... the most complicated part is the mobile stuff, but that can be summarized really well because the first game in the series has Kairi's grandmother talks about how there was one world with light (Daybreak Town), how people loved the light then fought for it (Keyblade War) and darkness grew in their hearts, destroying that world, but the light survived through the hearts of children who rebuilt the worlds (Dandelions)... plus in the Ansem Reports there are legends about the Keyblade where in one it destroyed the world and in one it saved it and once again the mobile game proves both are correct through that war... if the most complicated part was already summed up in the very first game, there's no reason to think anything about this series is complicated
Try to explain to someone who never played any KH game why Ventus and Roxas look so similar and see what happens. Lol It’s confusing to people who don’t play these games. Just because it’s not to you doesn’t mean it’s not to others.
@@AlonzoTompkins But like op said, if you actually go through from start to finish and read the important reports, it's not convoluted or confusing at all. Each game entry itself is contained enough to make sense on it's own. It is just a lot of information and concepts to wrap your head around. Trying to explain 20 year old franchise to a person that's never played a single entry, yeah that person is going to be hella confused. It's like with comic books, try to explain DC or Marvel's universe and they're going to get confused because you're not going to understand the concepts being talked about straight away.
@@AlonzoTompkins Ventus's heart which is more akin to a soul in the KH series was injured in his final battle, it took refuge within Sora's heart to recover and when Sora became a Heartless, his Nobody took inspiration from Ventus instead of Sora... that's how you explain it to a non-player
@@helko1 love your explanation, just got a friend to play the series and I'm explaining things along the way, he's not going to play the mobile game since nobody has the time to go from the beginning to do all of that when even if you skip the game play of it, the cutscenes are way too many hours and it would take a year real time to go through everything so I'm summarizing events of the game whenever they become relevant and he's following along greatly
Kingdom Hearts definitely has a convoluted plot to some extent but I think that’s what I’ve always loved about it. It gave me something to occupy my brain with by watching explanation and theory videos lol. I feel like if my 3 braincells can keep up with what’s going on than surely other ppl can to if they tried lmao
I really don't believe it's that convoluted at all. It no more complicated that the plot of Harry Potter, or Lord of the rings. Any multipart epic really. And thats essentially what kh is: an epic. An odd disney themed epic but its really not hard to track
It's not convoluted. It's just that people aren't always able to get all the pieces for themselves. It's way easier now with every game being in one place now so now really all you have to worry about are the mobile games.
that's the best part... it's not that complicated if you just play the games and read the secret reports when you have them all... it's a lot of information that's difficult to explain without context and that's what makes it seem convoluted but really the only convoluted thing in the entire series is whatever the heck the Master of Masters was planning with his crazy nonsense of a plan that somehow worked but not really... no I will not give context to this because I reasonably couldn't in a single comment
I'm one of those weirdoes that loved every single KH release to pieces (except KH UX) and ate up the story in each one. Right there with ya in enjoying the "confusing dogshit" writing
Look at gameranx with there video on the trailer and they laughable points on it and expecting the four installments talking less about the darkness which we all know that's not going to happen cuz that's part of the series regardless and the dude sounds very confused and little and interested in the game except for the graphics and gameplay they showed 😗
people are so weird about this series like... yeah its a bit conplex sometimes but ive never had that hard of a time understanding what was going on overall. i think some people really just thrive on being negative without even stopping to learn anything about the media theyre being negative about. i 100% guarantee half the people bitching about KH have never even played past the first one. theyre complaining that they dont understand a story theyve never attempted to understand.
I've always imagined it'd be cool for Sora to swing around his keyblade by the chain or incorporate the chain into attacks. I'm really excited he's doing that now!
The level one views Kingdom Hearts convoluted nonsense depends on what they're used to. I'm a fan of the Fate franchise, so I'm used to even more convoluted nonsense. Especially as an F/GO player.
Imagine in this game to get different keyblades, you walk into your local 7-11 or family mart and just buy a Keychain. Also I don't know about this but what if each different Keychain/keyblade has a different ability, the kingdom key is the grapple but what if say a star wars world like people are theorizing is in the game, that world's keyblade will do something different with its keychain
To me The kh story is confusing and convoluted meme is like Gohan's real father is Piccolo meme it was funny like seven years ago but everytime I see it now I just roll my eyes
Really? The truth of Piccolo being Gohan's daddy makes you roll your eyes? Ironic coming from a man named for one the deadest cringy memes in Internet history.
Nah man. Heres the KH story summed up for everyone who thinks it too convoluted. It all begins and ends with an old man trying to be cool and Sora and co just ruin his day for 8 games. And the phone game is just a world war with children. Boom.
My biggest worry for kh4 is that they are going to backload the plot again. You get a bit of story at the start, then nothing in the middle, and just all the plot at the last world. They have done that for majority of the kh games.
It's basically kh2 that has that problem. I think they fixed that for the rest of the game forward on. And before you say anything, no, KH3 does not count because there is story in the middle of the plot with all of these Disney worlds and Sora takes in the information within those Disney worlds. Like, Sora knows about the organization's plan for the new Seven Hearts. And Sora learning about Ventus living in his heart. Not to mention Sora learning lessons throughout those worlds.
On the topic of Kingdom Hearts III, I can understand people's frustrations with how it turned out and I can also understand why it may have caused some to lose interest. However, some of these comments are overreacting and not giving enough grace for the series. The game does not deserve complete hatred unless there is something extremely, objectively terrible or unforgivable. As for those wanting a "Final Fantasy" Kingdom Hearts, just go play Final Fantasy. Personally, I still haven't fully processed my thoughts on Kingdom Hearts III. There was a lot that I did and did not love about the game. Right now, I would rate it about middle of the road. The only way this series would make me lose interest is if Kingdom Hearts loses its identity and becomes something that does not align.
I find that "make final fantasy with kingdom hearts gameplay" funny, because Final Fantasy plot is also confusing at some parts, and I also blame myself to think that way since I never had the motivation to understand deeper with the stories, but I don't go around hating on the games just because I can't keep up, that's my fault entirely. Heck, there's plenty of kingdom hearts summary that makes sense, those definitely helped me when I was just beginning my Kingdom Hearts journey and right now I have no problem with the plot so far, but then again, everyone has their own tastes.
I agree with this definitely. KH3 had it's fair share of problems but imo isn't even the worse kh game. People mainly have a problem with it due to the wait which is understandable but makes people biased towards disliking it or thinking it's worse than it really is. The only serious serious problems with the game was the pacing and it didn't answer as many questions as people had hoped.
16:50 I just find that comment to be bait. Because there is no way that a KH fan would want a KH game to NOT be a KH game. Other than that, yeah, I agree with you here. I'm tired of these FF fans saying that KH should have Disney to be less involved and have more FF characters in it. Just go play FF if you want to see FF. Y'all just want KH to be another FF game.
@@lazyvoid7107 yeah. Especially bloody bizkiz (pancake dude) to the point that I couldn't watch his videos anymore because In every single speed run he'd just kinda randomly start going "kh3 was horrible" or "kh3 was dog shit"
as someone who first played KH when they came out on pc and have been playing them for the past few years. and as a semi newcomer in my opinion the story isn't that hard to understand. there is just so much info to keep up with. Like who came from whos heart and Why they were there in the first place. and who turned who into a nobody and a heartless after character X fell into the darkness because character X wants to do thing Y. so the story is still quite straight foward but it's hard to keep up with what is everyones motivations
I've watched Everglows 5hour Unionx cutscene video in one sitting along with what we have so far with dark road. im happy to have at least a good general since of what the freak is going on and I can't wait to lose my mind playing KH4. still just need that DR finale though, i can wait. if you don't or can't get the game, I definitely suggest watching Atriley's "movie" videos. that's how I kept up with the series when i was younger and only had a DS playing Days and Re:coded.
What's cool about the KH community is that back in late 2019 when a random guy managed to get his hands on early KH3 discs, everyone worked together to warn the fans and stay away as much as possible from leaks One of the best things a united community gaming can ever do
When I say “make it more like KH2” I don’t mean rip out the flow motion and shotlocks and keyblade transformations, KEEP ALL OF THAT 🔥🔥🔥 Those are things that were added since KH2 that aimed to level up the experience and actually did a good job - What they should NOT continue to do is use past HANDHELD GAMES as EXCUSES to justify: -destroying their best received combat system of all time (floatiness) -less worlds -less enemies -shorter campaign than PS2 predecessors -no Colosseum trials -no sephiroth fight -half of twilight town, no seven wonders, no tower, no inside mansion -no hollow bastion (have we strayed this far?…) etc. - all of THAT stuff is that spinoff energy.
I got properly introduced to the series as a wee 12yo through youtube, 2 or 3 years before KH3 was announced. As a result, I didnt have the expectations everyone else had and pretty much enjoy the entire series. KH3 is my favorite game in the series even though I could point out numerous flaws with the game off the top of my head (some of which have been mended by ReMind), and I was already big into gacha games, so I didnt mind Union-χ (Though I didnt like how there were so many fluff story quests). What Im trying to say is, I was in the perfect position to enjoy every part of this series, and Im glad for it. I was born around the time KH1 came out (over 2 years after) and I played a bit of the first game with my cousin. I grew up with this series and by the time KH4 comes out, Ill be a grown adult. This series means a lot to me, and I cant wait to see where it goes next. Side Note: Cynical, you Buns and Soraalam1 got me into this mess, so thank uou and this is your fault.
Ever since I discovered the series back in 2009 I've been absolutely in love. However, I did have to take breaks from it because I sometimes could not deal with the gameplay. KH was the first, and for a long time ONLY, RPG that I played, being used to things like Jak & Daxter, so I was so confused about how I was supposed to play these. It wasn't until relatively recently, like, about a year or so before KH3's release, that I tried out other RPGs like FF and I actually learned how to manage the games since then. I did a full playthrough of the series on my YT channel and you can actually see me process how to deal with RPGs around partway through CoM.
This reminds me that it took me an year to play Kingdom Hearts 3, it was a long journey, played through all of the games and recently played Melody of Memory. EDIT: I didn't beat DDD though, played it but wasn't finding it fun so I watched the cutscenes, I might "speedrun" it one day just like what I did with Chain of Memories.
I while I can agree that Kingdom heart's story and be a brain twister sometimes... I'm also the guy that says: "If you can keep up with it, you'll understand it."
For me it's not about it being complicated, it's more how they suddenly brought up entire new plot points (apparently, a whole new arc) in a gacha mobile game just to shamelessly drag out the series, to the point where it just feels awkward, artificial and an absolute cashgrab in pure square enix fashion.
Going back and replaying the old games, I would not mind if they cut down on the number of Disney worlds to expand on a few key ones. For instance, if they do include Star Wars, I would love to see full-scale Mos Eisley with some desert areas with Kenobi's home, Luke's home, Jabba's palace, etc. Just take a few worlds and increase their time from 2 hours to 6-8. Let us explore with all our cool movement tech!
Something to say about the stale jokes that are around because of KH3 is that back in 2013 Square Enix was in financial turmoil because of Final Fantasy 14 Online 1.0. They were not only updating that version of the game but also building an entirely different game on top of that in the form of FF14: A Realm Reborn. The swap from Luminous to Unreal 4 delayed it as well due to the progress that has already been made on KH3 getting scrapped when it was, I’d say, about halfway done at the time? Which was about a year and a half or so from when they started development. It takes a long time to make a game without killing yourself over it, even longer to make it *good* as well if you’re new to an engine, but I have a good feeling about KH4’s release, especially seeing where Square is at now.
I personally never cared much about the plot of kingdom hearts. to me, it's just _a fun game to play._ I like going around beating up jittery bugs and suits of armor with disney characters yelling nonsense around me. I like running through disney worlds smacking monsters around with a glorified metal baseball bat! it's _fun!_ you don't have to take the story seriously to enjoy playing the games!
On the subject of the person who hated KH3 compared to 2, I get it. I wouldn't say I hated KH3 (Critical Mode kept me busy, that's for sure), but it felt off to me. KH2's main plot felt connected even minimally in the worlds we went to, but the main plot in 3 kinda kicks in after you finish the last Disney world. Old man Xehanort doesn't even appear until the beginning of the end. It's hard to describe, the story just fell lacking in some aspects. Still a great game though.
honestly all they had to do was sprinkle a few organization members in each world a bit more and had more in-between segments with other characters or cutscene and most of the pacing would probably be fixed.
@@calebgoodman3028 it had hella meddling, nomura being put on versus 13 and kh3, being taken off of versus 13, disney disrupting the story for some worlds like arendel and ,from interviews, multiple re written scripts.
Can't wait for that 2050 release date! Jkjk I'm honestly hoping for it to release next year holiday season or 2024 spring. Cant wait to be reunited with all my friends from KH Union Cross
Every new KH game announcement is both exciting and annoying due to all dumb takes and broken records telling you for the 1000th time how much KHIII was terrible and how they gave up on the series. It gets me like :"Ok cool, bye, leave it and let me enjoy it, I don't care.". It's incredible to see the amount of energy these guys waste on something they are supposed to not care about.
The story of kh summed up: it's a story about a kid that wished to leave his home. Because of the strength of his heart he was able to but at terrible cost. Now he searches ever more to get home and stop an encroaching darkness that may require the help of some unusual characters.
something to note about the keychain part, Xehanort does use his keyblades keychain in his data form, so the fact Sora can use them gives me a lot of excitement of what's to come in the combat.
Idk why Sora’s look is hated so much. As a one off for this game/this world I like it quite a lot. I will admit I hated it for a solid 2 seconds when the trailer started and i saw Sora move and I got used to and actually started to like it immediately after. It was a slap that I realized didn’t hurt just as I was about to complain
I was just watching your old Evie-bot videos and I was thinking it'd be fun and nostalgic to do something like "Asking GPT-3 when Kingdom Hearts IV is coming out?" (If you don't get access to GPT-3, you could also try using DungeonAI and start a quest for the release date of KH4)
15:55 this is basically me Until i saw KH4 trailer, i'm invested again in this series, so excited and can't wait ! And yeah I hope Halloween Town is back!
My only strong, negative opinion of Kingdom Hearts 3, is that the world of Frozen felt forced and it did nothing to the story. I also don't like Frozen, so idk if is that or the weird castle Larxene made out of nowhere. Also to many cutscenes put together. The game still make me cry in some parts, when the trios got together again. I still love Kingdom Hearts, it is dear to my heart. Let's hope KH4 does a better job! I will buy it regardless... 🤣
@@calebgoodman3028 I do know that Disney was extra difficult that time around and had a lot of restrictions. I just feel that the world felt bland, they should've chosen a franchise that Disney wasn't so strict with. Unless Disney wanted them to use the world, which the restrictions wouldn't make sense then. Maybe is my dislike towards Frozen talking. Tangled felt way better!
@@jaim8147 I agree, Disney could’ve done so much more with Frozen. Prepare yourself because this rant will be a bit long. Frozen was okay but the they changed the story a bit too much for me. They made a big deal with Anna having a rushed romance and Elsa struggling with her powers which is fine and is a good premise for a story, however the adventure is mostly focused on that. There’s nothing wrong with a story revolving around feelings and emotions and The Snow Queen does have that but the main appeal to me was the journey along the way. The Snow Queen mostly focuses on the journey of a young girl Gerda to save her friend Kai, gaining the help of royalty, robbers, a deer a Finnish woman and *God’s holy army of angels* to help her. Gerda also has the power to talk to plants and animals but it’s shown to be normal in the story for some reason. There have been plenty of stories that do this well, The second Narnia book (first one released though), The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe does that well with the Pevensie children gathering an army of magical creatures led by a lion named Aslan (who is implied to be God himself)t o save their brainwashed brother Edmund from the White Witch Jadis and freeing the land from eternal winter. Another example is the first His Dark Materials book, The Golden Compass, which shows Lyra traveling her universe’s version of Earth to the North Pole to save her best friend, gathering an army of Gypsies, Polar Bear warriors and more to stop a religious government from kidnapping and experimenting on children trying to harness the power of the Northern Lights to destroy Original Sin. I guess Disney didn’t want to put many Christian references in the film since it is a common theme.
I started KH in 2004 and stuck with it till today its kinda NUTS. also about people saying that KH story and lore is insane. TRY FATE LORE. That lore and story make KH crazy story look like child's play
I remember playing the 1st one as a kid and never imagined that the story would get so damn deep but here we are 13 titles in 😂 p.s. keep it up Jared! Been watching you for a good 5 years now my friend, love the content brother
Did people really hate KH3 that much? There was a lot to like there. I understand the hype from years of waiting, and I can certainly see the flaws. But it was... just fine? I will say, it IS a conclusion of a sort, and if people want to stop there, that's fair. But then again, KH2 was a conclusion as well.
Honestly i think most of the hate comes from just how easy the game is. Even on Critical, the game can't really be considered much of a challenge (compared to the other games anyway.) unless you purposely don't use the attraction attacks. Honestly i was surprised because KH1 and KH2's critical mode kicked my ass six ways from Sunday. I hope with 4 they make it kinda like KH2 where you and the enemies are on more equal footing. If sora can do sick flips and fly about the place then the enemies should be able to counter that in some way so you can't just press X to win
@Oliver's 50th Account i had no idea that you never played beyond the beginner difficulty in any of the games! Because your argument is on the level of a grade-schooler's. Even normal mode on KH1/2 is more difficult than KH3's hard mode. It doesn't need to be as hard as a fromsoft game (and i never claimed it had to be either.) But it *does* need to not be an unsatisfying cake-walk and have *some* challenge. Beating a boss you died/came close to dying to once or twice, is much more satisfying than steam-rolling enemies left and right without a care. If people wanted that they'd play Dynasty Warriors instead.
@@ohmygawd601 Honestly, I fucking hate KH3's critical mode. I find it to be a frustrating slog. And the main problems people have with KH3 is the pacing of the story and the overall feel and flow of combat.
The one issue I have with the more realistic world argument is pirates of the Caribbean it'll be weird to have like Star wars look more realistic than it
I know that you cover kingdom hearts cameos and other shows. But if you look at the new Chippendale trailer, they have a key blade where they’re looking at multiple different pieces of evidence. I think that’s something to go over!
I can't wait for a spin-off/side game for a canon reason as why Sora is wearing normal shoes. They did it with Mickey's shirt and now it is time for Sora's shoes.
I think something that could be interesting for KH4’s title theme, is that it could be a theme that mixes elements that characterize Sora and Yozora, since they’re obviously gonna be the two biggest characters in this game. I think the main melody of this should be something more Verum Rex related, with small bits of Dearly Beloved playing as either a counter melody or somewhere in the background or something
But what would they do with it? We've covered the plot of the movie already and killed the main villain of it... twice. Anything more would just be a retread of what we did already.
Honestly, I'd bet it's hard enough threading through your own comments, but to even hop on Reddit and specifically search out the negativity without succumbing to it is top notch. Cudos! Comments and people's opinions; especially regarding something you love and are faithful to, can be an overwhelming wave to surf, and this man's not only hanging 10, but feeding the sharks underneath. That's dedication.
Imagine if Donald and Goofy go to all the worlds as we tour Quadratum, and they make a reference to the TraverseTown segment where they kept showing up through other doors when we entered one.
For the "theme song" comment, I think she was referring to an Utada Hikaru song. Of course, that's just my guess. I don't know what the replies discussed. In terms of KH being convoluted: I am able to understand the plot and lore pretty well. Whatever isn't readily clear, I can fill in the blanks with what I think are decent headcanons. So it isn't _utterly_ convoluted. There are points, however, that I cannot properly understand, such as Ansem's plan in light of everything to do with Master Xehanort; also, the Keyblade War no longer makes a lick of sense with what we learned from the Master's conversation with Luxu.
Tbh I’m actually more excited for Missing Link than IV because I know (honestly we all know) that IV is gonna be really really good but Missing Link does have potential, I really want to sign up for the beta tests when it opens up
Okay so for the new theme of KH4 I think it would be cool to have a Final Fantasy like music, have KH4 have it's own FF prelude BUT with a hint of Dearly Beloved. Now that would be amazing ngl. I know it's a huge stretch but that would be honestly nice.
I think the only time I was truly confused by the story was when I played DDD before playing Days and BBS. Part of it is the obvious skip of entries, but it was mostly because of the plot twist.
8:38 Cynical, you just described the hookshot from the Zelda series. But yeah, it'd be cool if the keychain was like the hookshot. That'd be really cool.
I think a big reason why people think Kingdom Hearts is so convoluted is because of the order. Like, KH1 > CoM > 2 makes a lot of sense, but then we start getting stuff like 358 which is supposed to be before 2, BBS which is before all of those, 2.8 which is in a weird spot between BBS and 1, Union X which is way before all of that, etc. All of the plot twist kinda things where it's like "Hey, here's a hooded character," and then they're explained a few games later is what makes people go "wait who, what?" I feel like if people experienced the story in canonical timeline order it would be a lot less confusing. Like, literally just watch some sort of lore recap on YT and you'll be mostly good.
I wonder if Donald and Goofy are going to be playable this time. I highly doubt so but... a really small part of me wants these two Disney characters to be playable characters in KH4.
I was watching a VFX artists react to various VFX scenes and they had a moment where they covered the new Space Jam movie, I can honestly see Goofy and Donald animated close to how the ACME cartoons were done for that film. 🤔
I figured it out! If Quadratum, according to Striliza (no clue if I spelled that right, didn't play Unchained much), is an "afterlife," then Yozora is trying to send Sora back by "killing" him. I'm not sure why, or how he would know this is the way to send him back, but it's my best guess by far. Consider: when a person is split into a Heartless and Nobody, destroying those two halves will restore the person to their original self (usually). Perhaps the same logic applies to crossing over into Quadratum/afterlife. If you are removed from the realm/state you are found in entirely, you move to the other. However, I'm suspecting that being poofed out of one world doesn't guarantee which one you'll poof back into. Quadratum and KH's "reality" may not be two sides to the same coin, but may actually be two possibilities in a Multiverse of sorts. This could also explain why the robed figures (one likely being the Master of Masters) at the end of the KH4 reveal told Sora not to expect to return to his original world. Worlds like the Avengers, Star Wars, and Verum Rex (which I'm just going to consider to be within the same world as Final Fantasy) seem to have different sorts of metaphysical motifs. The Force, light and darkness, chaos and harmony; all different magical-esque systems that run the worlds. As such, moving into one of those realms from another is a very dramatic change. Similarly, we can consider how FF characters ended up in Kingdom Hearts worlds, which would be considered the Disney meta; because their world was destroyed by a dark force, which I believe is where Heartless also originated, beyond the meta of Kingdom Hearts/Disney. If any of this is accurate, we might be seeing a pretty wild new multiverse in KH4.
if you ask me, I do believe they are doing a great job so far. With exception of KH3 slightly slipping with certain worlds, they have done fairly good work. I only hope it will not take a long time to come out. In terms of the different platforms...well I guess this is why they have included the movies in the games :D
been a long time fan of the series since vanilla KH2, the only problem i had with the series was the side titles that didnt have the command menu combat like how it was in the main games along with them dropping so much good storylines in portable games 😪 BBS, 358, DDD literally deserve a whole new revamp for their games. Also with the storytelling, what makes KH unique is how artistically is told and shown. I say KH lore is just complex to understand rather than convoluted since there’s so much lore to be invested in each game along with now the mobile games 😭 Mobile games that have this huge lore dump and are not accessible to other platforms is currently the main issue i actually have for the series.
When MollyShine20 Brown mentioned a new theme song for Kingdom Hearts 4, I don't think she was suggesting a possible change to the Dearly Beloved menu theme. I'm pretty sure she was referring to the possibility of a new Utada Hikaru song for the game.
Hey Jared! Have you ever seen Kingdom hearts rewrite by Cryptonix? If you haven't you should definitely check it out. Its pretty good and would love to see your reaction to it.
Thank you so much for this video and all your other content, you always make my day better! ^^ People who are confused about the story really need to watch Everglows Timeline Videos, magnificent work and it helps understanding everything.
I feel like most of my love for kingdom hearts died after kh3 mainly because how much of a chore it was to play. I find it hard to get exited after experiencing kh3 I really enjoyed melody of memories and liked it way more than kh3 but at this point I'm just disappointed and sad. But I still love watching these vids, love the energy.
Here's how we get everyone caught up to speed easily: S-E releases a free content for whatever latest KH title might work for it (as of now would be MoM) that is literally an in-depth look at the story in the clearest explanation possible
I had fun woth KH3 but I didn't find it like ground breaking or anything I still kinda preferred 2 but I'm sure 4 will be great just gotta wait to see what else they show off to see if the hype is gonna get even crazier or not.
I was thinking that the trailer music itself would be a great candidate as the main menu theme. It's a little more bombastic than Dearly Beloved, but would really get players amped up in epic fashion 🤩.
when people shit on KH, or anything entertainment wise, I just want to show them the door and be like, "please leave, I'm eating and you're shitting on my food."
Sora needs to get his behind home for that cold ass dinner, STILL WAITING FOR HIM.
He did go home KH 2, hopefully he ate the dinner then if not there might be mold already if it didn’t already grow
Some say she still calls his name "Sora?"
The dinner 20 years ago if he didn't eat it,the dinner is gonna become the true villain of the series
The fandom wants our boy to die of food poisoning by having him eat 2 year old leftovers.
I love how all the negative and confusing comments for kh 4 was all mostly on Reddit. I find that hilarious to me for some reason 🤣
Well yea only neckbeards use reddit 💀
When I say “make it more like KH2” I don’t mean rip out the flow motion and shotlocks and keyblade transformations, KEEP ALL OF THAT 🔥🔥🔥 Those are things that were added since KH2 that aimed to level up the experience and actually did a good job -

-half of twilight town, no seven wonders, no tower, no inside mansion
-no hollow bastion (have we strayed this far?…)

This game gotta come out in 2023 reasons I say why is because the Xehanort saga has been dealt with in kh3 which means kh4 is a fresh beginning because now we might get to explore final fantasy worlds! 😀😀 hopefully no confusing plots
And here I thought Twitter X was bad enough...
Oh my god yes.
"Dur hur KH4 is never commin out"
"Donald never heals"
"Sora still ain't eat his dinner"
So played out
5:24 you know what would be cool? If we got Dearly Beloved as like a little nod or Easter egg like… Sora could be walking around Quadratum, maybe he walks into a bar or restaurant and there’s a musician playing it softly on a piano in the corner or something

I'm in my 40s and KH is my comfort series. Every time I'm too stressed kr down, I run one of the games. Good for the soul (and heart lol)
It was definitely disappointing considering the wait but people act like it's the worst game ever made
The hate is WAY overblown! So much so that people are making $h!t up to justify their hate for this game.
I loved kh3, and still do.
But honestly the way that the 2fm fans have been treating me and everyone else who likes kh3, it's been ruining my enjoyment of kh2fm. Went from my 2nd favorite game in the series to the 4th
Clap 👏 clap 👏 clap 👏 cringe
If you look at the history of the intro music of all the games, you'll notice that the 1st game was more upbeat because of a start of a new adventure. The sequel was more depressing because of friends being separated and worlds being destroyed.
The 3rd game was more about facing your fears and facing The big final obstacle.
I'm pretty sure they are probably going to make Kingdom Hearts 4 a theme that is both upbeat for a start of a new Adventure And probably a little depressing as well, Since sora needs rescuing.
Eyyy, was glad someone else noticed that too! Especially since KH 3's theme at first was Don't Think Twice and then Face My Fears

I can’t believe I never even realized KH4 meant a new Utada song
No matter what version, Dearly Beloved always makes me tear up with nostalgia
Being able to follow the story doesn’t mean it’s not convoluted. I can follow the story but it is a poorly written mess.
My dude I’ve been watching you for 7 years now and it’s crazy how we’re now waiting for Kh4! Keep it up
By themes I think they meant Simple and Clean, Sanctuary, Face My Fears that kinda stuff
I wish people would grasp the idea that “campy” is a quality, series like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Doctor Who thrive on that appeal. Kingdom Hearts is no different.
right, my friend won't watch jojo because he says it's too dramatic... like that's the whole point lol
When i saw her i literally jumped on my chair 🤣
But im still waiting for a 3D model of Skuld, i will not be happy until this happens.
That was me. I was like who tf is she??? 😂😂😂
All I know about her is that she "died" and has a brother
unfortunately, i dont follow the UCX lore, may have to check it out someday. But im sure she's related to that game. Also, probably nothing with the girl they kept mentioning in KH3?
@@Noelfriday Strelitzia is Lauriam aka Marluxia's sister.
Lol
It’s confusing to people who don’t play these games.
@@tektonik4616 But WHY would you explain it to someone who isn’t playing it? Just give them KH1 and say Donald Duck is in it.
Ik sometimes u can even come up with your own beliefs N It Will Become A Concept to everyone

@@yagirlmayalazarus6713 man i like kh but the mobile games are like a curse to me, they are not fun to play at all xD
that's the best part... it's not that complicated if you just play the games and read the secret reports when you have them all... it's a lot of information that's difficult to explain without context and that's what makes it seem convoluted but really the only convoluted thing in the entire series is whatever the heck the Master of Masters was planning with his crazy nonsense of a plan that somehow worked but not really... no I will not give context to this because I reasonably couldn't in a single comment
Same.
so you think kh vcast is a masterpiece?
people are so weird about this series like... yeah its a bit conplex sometimes but ive never had that hard of a time understanding what was going on overall. i think some people really just thrive on being negative without even stopping to learn anything about the media theyre being negative about. i 100% guarantee half the people bitching about KH have never even played past the first one. theyre complaining that they dont understand a story theyve never attempted to understand.

People complain that kh is confusing, then complain when the games take time to explain things to them.
I would'nt mind if they kept this realistic style through the entire game. I mean, I thought they tried to achieve this in all KH openings/endings?!

My biggest worry for kh4 is that they are going to backload the plot again. You get a bit of story at the start, then nothing in the middle, and just all the plot at the last world. They have done that for majority of the kh games.
Ya I feel that will happen again. KH3 was the biggest on that. Most of the worlds had no story really. Until going to the graveyard.
@@resolvedfate1295 That was one of my many problems with KH3
It's basically kh2 that has that problem. I think they fixed that for the rest of the game forward on.
And before you say anything, no, KH3 does not count because there is story in the middle of the plot with all of these Disney worlds and Sora takes in the information within those Disney worlds. Like, Sora knows about the organization's plan for the new Seven Hearts. And Sora learning about Ventus living in his heart. Not to mention Sora learning lessons throughout those worlds.
I only felt that way with KH2.
That's always been a problem with the KH series as a whole. I do agree that the games could use some better pacing.
People criticize the hell out of KH calling it confusing and convoluted and yet they watch and follow the MCU.
Yeah ok

I just glad we go be using the new design a lot can’t wait to see how Riku go look. The new design definitely take my fav look of Sora
People saying KH4 has no color in it, yeah, but since he's in basically Japan, take Sora's ass to Harajuku and you'll get your color back.
I fully expected to celebrate my kid's 10th birthday before KH4... I don't have any kids yet.
2 was in development the same time as Chain of Memories was if I recall correctly so it makes sense. Meanwhile 3 had a lot of meddling.
Facts. The KH fandom is getting as bad as the Star Wars fandom these days.
@@Drums_of_Liberation Ehh I would'nt say their at that level just yet, but their veering too close to that level for my liking.
I was just watching your old Evie-bot videos and I was thinking it'd be fun and nostalgic to do something like "Asking GPT-3 when Kingdom Hearts IV is coming out?"
(If you don't get access to GPT-3, you could also try using DungeonAI and start a quest for the release date of KH4)
15:55 this is basically me
Until i saw KH4 trailer, i'm invested again in this series, so excited and can't wait !
I believe it was originally meant to be different than what we’ve seen. I heard Disney had a *lot* of restrictions.
The fact that it’s only a portion of the larger Nasuverse with every timeline being canon makes it even more so.
BlazBlue is another one. Or the cursed series that is Homestuck.
Honestly if they do different art styles for different realities and kh is in the perfect position to create the square avengers!
I think the main melody of this should be something more Verum Rex related, with small bits of Dearly Beloved playing as either a counter melody or somewhere in the background or something
omg imagine if they did bring back halloween town!
These bots need to be deleted
@@jonahabenhaim1223 i have blocked so many bots these past few months
But what would they do with it? We've covered the plot of the movie already and killed the main villain of it... twice. Anything more would just be a retread of what we did already.
@@MythicMachina they could do something related to the games of the movies or the comics
Your reaction to someone saying “kingdom of hearts” had me laughing for minutes😂😂
All of the plot twist kinda things where it's like "Hey, here's a hooded character," and then they're explained a few games later is what makes people go "wait who, what?"
I feel like if people experienced the story in canonical timeline order it would be a lot less confusing. Like, literally just watch some sort of lore recap on YT and you'll be mostly good.
I wonder if Donald and Goofy are going to be playable this time. I highly doubt so but... a really small part of me wants these two Disney characters to be playable characters in KH4.
Report Thot Bot
Imagine if Riku is a playable character in the game like DDD. He might actually party with Donald and Goofy too HAHAHA
What's with the shitty bots on this goddamn channel?
I was watching a VFX artists react to various VFX scenes and they had a moment where they covered the new Space Jam movie, I can honestly see Goofy and Donald animated close to how the ACME cartoons were done for that film. 🤔
We get only one trailer for KH4 and they already hating on the game
Reading comments is ALWAYS funny. Great video idea!
I will be ok with pretty much everything overall……unless we have that FUCKING COOKING EGG MINI GAME…..then i will bring out the paddle
If kingdom hearts gets any more confusing I am going to be out of brain cells
People are seriously nitpicking over realism?
Fucks sake, it's like the Sonic fanbase all over again...
been a long time fan of the series since vanilla KH2, the only problem i had with the series was the side titles that didnt have the command menu combat like how it was in the main games along with them dropping so much good storylines in portable games 😪 BBS, 358, DDD literally deserve a whole new revamp for their games.
Also with the storytelling, what makes KH unique is how artistically is told and shown. I say KH lore is just complex to understand rather than convoluted since there’s so much lore to be invested in each game along with now the mobile games 😭
Mobile games that have this huge lore dump and are not accessible to other platforms is currently the main issue i actually have for the series.
When MollyShine20 Brown mentioned a new theme song for Kingdom Hearts 4, I don't think she was suggesting a possible change to the Dearly Beloved menu theme. I'm pretty sure she was referring to the possibility of a new Utada Hikaru song for the game.
I bet I’ll be featured in one of these videos long before KH4 comes out!
Hey Jared! Have you ever seen Kingdom hearts rewrite by Cryptonix? If you haven't you should definitely check it out. Its pretty good and would love to see your reaction to it.
“Nomura’s Revenge Arc” haha I love it
Thank you so much for this video and all your other content, you always make my day better! ^^ People who are confused about the story really need to watch Everglows Timeline Videos, magnificent work and it helps understanding everything.
Sora really got a sword, universal master key, laser gun and hookshot all in one. And that's just its base Kingdom Key form.
The “it makes since it’s in real world since it’s Disney latest property “ took me outtttt 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What’s the background music used for this video
i think they need kingdom hearts movie that explains everytbing from beggining to end
I was thinking that the trailer music itself would be a great candidate as the main menu theme. It's a little more bombastic than Dearly Beloved, but would really get players amped up in epic fashion 🤩.
Regardless I'm still excited to play KH4♥️
