Amazing skill! I am on ng+8 now and still enjoy the game by testing various builds. The rock solid build is so much more fun than the tank or stun builds, but i am already struggling on some bosses. IF I manage to master this, i will try the combination with this immobilize setup. Keep these videos comming please. Really appreciate them... Thx
i just started ng+ to try rock solid build and im surprise its synergic with thrust stance, especially executioning heavy thrust lv 4 right after successful parry. its so good
Thank you! glad you like it. Rock solid pairing with immoblize is pretty crazy. It feels like you have 2 parry buttons that comes off cooldown one after another
yea I've seen some videos on that with Non-void predominantly, but I just don't like non-void that much :( I can try to think of something interesting tho. thanks for the suggestion!
I was an immobilize abuser my first playthrough and i can't do evanescence lmao. Btw, i still love that rock solid build. started a new journey and i can't stop rock solid > thrust. it's so satisfying lol. btw, is it possible for you to do a vid on what boss moves are best to use rock solid on like yin tiger or erlang? every time i use it i get staggered lmao. thanks for the vid man. keep up the awesome content!
Thank you! Glad you like the rock solid build haha. Unfortunately I won't have time to make boss specific guides.. but in general it's easier to remember which attack you can't parry than the other way around. For yin tiger it's mostly the attacks when his blades are red, and for erlang it's mostly his axe attack except for the one where he starts with dragging his axe on the ground.
Never connected evanescence with immobilization until watching your clip. Most efficient manual charge slam. Plenty of time for a l3 smash (first BMWk play through)--staggers every boss so far.
@@visic1 Destroyed non-white impersonator (Towers of Karma) with perfect immobilization. Stood next to him and casually charge up a l3 smash, followed by a combo, & then instinctive heavy-mash. Took him out easily under a minute. (Believe or not: this guy was taking 1/3 to 1/2 of my HP on many tests runs.) Fun!
Your videos help me understand my lucky moves and other aspects of strategies and fun plays. :D Partially responsible for defeating Venom Daoist with another perfect immobilization. I was trying to go into Cloud Step--pressed wrong button---fired off Red Tides who finished him. I don't really like immobilization on later chapters because too many bosses could break out of it right away. So far, I've gotten lucky on a L4 thrust on Tiger Vanguard exactly as you described, which for the life of me I couldn't understand perfectly until watching your videos on L4 the Thrust Stance. I rolled out of panic and then pressed Hail Mary heavy smash. However, somewhere in the fight, I switched to Thrust Stance already--started on the fight with a running L3 smash on him. The unplanned L4 instantly took him out (tough boss?!). Needless to say I was stunned a little. At the time I didn't understand the power of L4 at all and how it could be obtained. Now I understand I got it from all the light combos. And yes L4 thrust is different from all other heavy's, there's no click sound--still stunned--just watched recording again. (No pills either) Also finding being offensively aggressive serves me better. Always attacking because I really hate defense. Looking forward to completely abandon my semi "monastic" strategy and incorporating Rock Solid in boss fights. Use medicament to overcome Yellow Loong. My style of play is truly high risk & high reward as you stated. I don't like long fights where I need to dodge for hours. Incidentally, I feel the power of light combos is underestimated, finding many of my heavies are easily countered by bosses--at least in my style of fights--especially when I begin to incorporate Non-Able into some fights. Now I'm considering buying a two-piece golden armor for Rock Solid as you recommended in another video for early chapter 5. I'm just worried about spending all the fine gold threads where I'll miss out on better armors later in chapter 5. Spent quite a bit on the full insect armor and a three-piece Rock Solid armor.
@ glad my video helped! As for the golden armor it’s so good so you can’t really go wrong with that.. but if you have 3-piece rock solid already why didn’t you finish the 4 piece though? It’s also very good
Great video, definitely subscribing. I’ve been struggling with the immobilize timing. Have you tested doing the light combo finisher after the spirit? I kinda inconsistent with it when I do the non-able slam.
Thank you! for continuing the combo just smash the light attack button and it works every time, unless you used your spirit too late so that your finisher was already out before the spirit
im on my second cycle, and didnt realize i was pulling evanescence from time to time. Everytime it happened, it left me thinking :"huh? i didnt press the dodge button, so why did i do a perfect dodge right when i pressed immobilize", weird, and then i just moved on. Now I will use it more intentionally, thanks!
@@valour549 I feel like it depends on the attacks and hitboxes. The Jinchi attack I tested it barely does anything.. but for great sage I can definitely feel the difference when I was playing. Haven’t tested thoroughly tho
How do you trigger the black immobilization effect? Does it occur only when evanescence is successful, or do you have to upgrade the armor to mythical?
This is great! I have one issue physically: my left finger is on the R1 of my PS5 and my thumb is on the triangle so that I can charge and therefore I don’t know how I can hit the X button properly to do a dodge while I continue charging. I kind of have to roll my thumb down which is not very accurate. There are often cases where I would like to be able to dodge while charging and this has been quite frustrating. I guess I can put my middle finger on the R1 and my Peter pointer on the trigger which would allow me to use the thumb on the X button but that’s a bit convoluted and would probably only work for an initial boss attack.
You said in one of the comments that this is one of your favourite games. I agree, but what games do you think is on this level? Very curious to hear your opinion.
5:31 So many drinks though. I hardly use drinks. Maybe 1-5% of my fighting in first playthrough. And none in NG+ thus far. I'll have a load of drinks by the time I reach NG+3
yea it's definitely more annoying. An easier way to do it is to press R2 ahead of time and press square when the timing is right. You need to know what attack and when the attack is coming for evanescence anyway
Guy I have completed the NG+3 and entered NG+4 and rested at shrine location at forest wolves and turn off the next day while i opened the game it takes back to NG+3 at thunder clap temple shrine point have any of you faced this issue.
@ I think once in phase 1+2 and once in phase 3? Don’t quote me on that I could be wrong. If you do it more he will just break out and do a counter freeze.

the see-through attacks? those have a way more generous window
Crazy the precision this game requires.. I don't even land all my rock deflections
I‘m glad that they give you these talents that require precision but they are not necessary at all to beat the game.

1) pillar stance
2) cloud walk
3) spam immobilise with 0 cooldown
