For me I’m doing the gym in order because without matching levels I don’t care. And also I’m doing each storyline separately three starters and three storylines. One for each.

I'm hoping the wild Pokémon level scale like the Wild Area in Sword and Shield. I would like to build my team early and not risk running into level 30 - 35 wild Pokémon with my level 10 Quaxly.

I personally want a Vaporeon with an Electric Tera Type as a sweeper for the Water Type Gym.

The uniforms we wear was such a creative cop out 💔 But I guess it’s a small detail. But why would they backtrack from the good customizations we had in sword/shield ?
Unfortunately gliding on Koraidon or Miraidon probably won't be available when you start the game, as you unlock movement and abilities for your chosen legendary by completing quests in game.

I do hope they get rid of trade evolutions or have other ways of obtaining them. My friends don't have a switch, so I can't trade with them and don't want to trade with strangers, cause of anxiety
I feel the same way, I always want my same Pokémon back and you never know what other people will do.
It'd be nice if it worked as it did in Pokemon Legends where you can use a special item to evolve the pokes that normally require trading.
I remember wanting to catch certian pokemon first in other games, yet having to wait impatiently to reach an area to catch that specific mon..might be nice to figure out some spawn areas, and grabbing some awesome mons for my 2 teams (I always go for the double pack). So that will be a nice change.
Regarding character customization, I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, leaks show the customization is from the start, so I can avoid the immersion break of always starting with one of eight characters for the first few hours of the game. On the other hand, being limited to four uniforms sucks. In real life, most kids hate school uniforms. Why would they make a fantasy adventure that limits us to four uniforms? Also, no age customization? “It’s a game for kids” they say… when the lore in universe has adult students! WTF 😐
Hopefully they have free DLC that has new outfits

I understand that it’s a school setting but again kids hate uniforms like you said I hated my uniform when I was in high school.
I definitely wouldn’t wear it going out somewhere with friends so it’s the same thing if you’re a Pokémon trainer going on some adventure.
Seriously that’s just beyond stupid on game freaks part.
That would be like the fantastic Hogwarts legacy game coming out next year if you always had to just wear Hogwarts robes despite it being an open world RPG game.. Oh yeah they didn’t do that because I’m not stupid like game freak.

I can’t decide if I want to start scarlet or violet first, on one point I really like the prehistoric look of scarlet but love the motorbike look of violet legendary (I don’t remember the names😅😅😅)
Imma be honest, I haven't remember pokemon names since gen 4. I remember a few from each generation that stand out now and that's it lol
unfortunately you wont get very far gliding of the tallest area on the map, as sadly you can only glide about 10 seconds before you go almost straight down
I know, a big missed opertunity to add flying. Even Lets Go Eve/Pika let you fly on a mons back after the E4, lol.

Do you know type matchups?
There are a lot of different kinds of Pokémon, so don't worry too much about trying to rush completing your whole collection right out of the gate. Take your time, find some Pokémon you can call your favorites, and use them on your team.
Speaking of your team, you can only have a maximum of 6 Pokémon with you at any given time. Each species of Pokémon has an elemental Type, and it's helpful if the Pokémon you keep with you most often have a balanced variety of Types.
Also, if you happen to find a Pokémon that isn't the same color as the rest of its species, that's not a glitch, it's a rare occurrence known as a Shiny Pokémon. Feel free to catch the Shiny if you can; there's not really anything special about Shiny Pokémon other than looks, but some Pokémon players put a lot of effort into obtaining Shinies just because they're rare.

My thoughts going into this game and now a day of playing. I have never had a quicker 180 in my life. Loving it. The ONLY thing id change in the next game is them hopefully being able to add scaling, im terrified incase i explore and level up too much and it becomes too easy

Honestly i'm excited and hyped for the Let's go mode, I also enjoyed the let's go pokemon games. I feel like anyway the way this game is set up, the fans who hates let's go eevee/pikachu and/or Pokemon Legends Arceus will not even bother with this game anyway. And honestly no big loss there, the true fans will play the pokemon games irregardless of what is different.
Well, I didn't like Pokemon Let's Go at all and wouldn't buy it at all if I could turn back time, but Pokemon Legends was great. I'll just have to see how good this game will be.
For me Let's Go was a remake that (aside for no fights with wild Pokemon) simply has less content that the original 1st gen games. No abilities, no held items, no cassino (well, the building is there, but the games are not), no safari zone (replaced with a thing for moving games from Pokemon Go), the seven islands added in the older remake don't exist there as well...
Being able to fly above the road and the expert trainers were a good addition, but that's it.
Yeah except the gyms don't scale which makes the whole challenge gyms in whatever order oof.

Every other source I've seen says that let's go mode can actually KO shinies, it just can't KO special Terra pokemon. So now I don't know what to believe
One thing I will say, no spoilers. Yes, you can go where you want, do things in any order you want, however, things are not level scaled. So if you go to the ice area right off the bat, you're gonna run into high level Pokemon. If you try and take on a gym that's further away, they're gonna have high level Pokemon, same with titans and Team Star. So while you technically CAN do things in any order, you probably SHOULDN'T, as there is a set order based on levels.

Buy question, if you battle any gym in different order. Does that mean if I do the thunder gym first, will they use only two Pokémons. Or instead if I go to the thunder as my fourth stop. Will they use 3-4 Pokémons against me?
Well there are things you've got wrong in this video, the early demo version that some people got to play compared to gameplay of the latest version, well the latest version looks totally better and another thing is if you have your Pokémon out in let's go mode it can go and knock out a wild Shiny Pokémon.
Yesterday a video appeared of a pokemon in lets go refusing to kill a shiny , it is not possible in auto battle

I tested it myself, Let's Go mode will not kill your shiny, I tried to make my pokemon faint it, 5 times, it refused to, shook it's head and just stood there.
I feel if me and my friend sees a shiny together we are having an all out battle for it lol
The best thing to do is to just go play and enjoy it!
Let's go won't cause trainers to kill wild shiny pokemon...however it also enables co-op players to steal your well earned shiny pokemon. Good luck to finders keepers, from what I least know of this should be true.

I just got the switch and pokemon sword is my pokemon game in years and I don't have friends to play with when I get Scarlett on Friday other then that I definitely can't wait to jump in.

My plan is First Gym, Titan and Team Star. Then 2 gym, Titan and Team Star and so on.
You can't fly with Koraidon/Miraidon from the beginning. You need to do the Spice hunt first. The spices give the dragons the abilities. The first ability is running, the second is swimming. The world however does look terrible from afar. A lot of stutterings, pop ins and repeating textures.
Terastalization isn't really important. You only need it against strong opponents which is rarely the case. And you have to fill it up evertime you used it on a Pokémon Center.
Gimmighoulds cheast form hide on towers and can be caught. The roaming form hide all over Paldea and can be heard.
So the Gymleaders and general bosses are supposed to be done in a certain order. I finished Gym 2 before Gym 1. So the Gymleaders do not scale. Leaader 2 was on level 18. Leader 1 on level 14. But you can't get to certain areas as long as your ride Pokémon doesn't have certain abilities. The game is not as open world as people might expect.
The let's go mode makes battles faster, but they also grant less EXP.
The performance is really terrible. A lot of pop ins, stutters and slowdowns. It's rare that the game holds 30fps. The reduced framerate is also easily noticable as it happens very close to you. The first time in the class room is a prime example of that. Textures are blurry and very low rez on objects outdoors. Indoors is better and the Pokémon received the best textures. The water still has this white border and you can see cliff sides with repetitive textures.
How do i know? I have played Scarlet for 10 hours already.
Has there been any confirmation on whether or not couch co op will be a thing? I'm guessing probably not, lol. I haven't been watching much about the games since I want to go in fresh.
We can only find (chest form) gimmighoul and Roaming form in Pokémon go

Everyone gets an early purchase bonus if you play before the end of February. The early purchase is a Pikachu with a flying tera-type, you just have to accept the mystery gift and you can start your adventure with a Pikachu.

You'll need to be in multi-player mode to evolve the new dolphin pokemon. So you'll need to connect with friends at least for that.

Poppin is not a feature that's the excuse that Gamefreak used for pokemon sword and shield those games had horrible poppin and ps2 levels textures and those games were 60$ each
Yep, GF always gets a free pass to be lazy because pokemon is so beloved. GF sells the same game 2x at AAA prices and always delivers a CCC game. Hate on the BotW cell shading all you want, but that game holds up in visuals today because they build a game that was designed for the switches limited hardware.
It doesn’t really make sense to skip gyms because you still have to fight the ones you missed

Gym badges still give you the ability to have pokemon of a certain level listen/obey you...
First thing I'm doing is finding a Mankey. And hopefully one with a steel terratype.
Steel type has a lot of resistances to it. Plus I like the element along with ice and ground.
I feel like Anihilape will be very strong in the long run which I why I want to get him asap.

Performance wise - way worse than PLA. Especially when its snowing, or during a sandstorm.
Some parts like finding that coin pokemon got me excited but a lot of it is just a joke
Wait wtf u taling about windmills not moving at all or having bugs here and there. This just means that this is pretty bad from a computer dev perspective. If you have already found bugs just without looking for them it means the quality of this game is blantly bad. I can live with pop in since the ram and loading features are difficult to manage on the switch even though it has been done by zelda botw but none the less I can live with it. But how can you speak so lightly about bugs and showing gameplay that has framedrops into the single digits. I really love pokemon and I will buy one the games but to be honest if those things are just accepted as "well its just game freak and their bad coding lol" then we have come a long way down hill.
The biggest issue is the game is leaked, and GF rushed it out to get it into stores for the holiday rush, and is relying heavily on a day 1 patch. Half the music is just a 3sec placeholder loop. Now its is GF, they always cut corners so expect things to be pertty sub par even after the day 1. I feel GF is still programing like they are limited to the gameboy tbh.
It lags really bad before you even leave your home town. Its pretty terrible :/

It's battle gym leaders, battle evil team, battle strong pokemon. That's the exact same formula as literally every other game and we never considered that three stories. It's one story, one side quest and one fetch quest.
Also the fight Mon to get items to make tms... I mean if I wanted to play monster hunter I would. I already don't use tms because I don't play competitively, so basically my inventory is going to be full of trash crafting items.
Now hearing that the let's go feature is required in certain parts... This just doesn't feel worth it. I honestly don't want to play it but my fiance wants to lay it (although he also needs doesn't want to be spoiled so doesn't know anything about it) if he didn't insist on buying the dual pack I don't think I would play it at all. When Arceus came out I was legit excited with everything I heard, with this game however, almost every new bit of info is either bad or it's good but includes something annoying.
Like their a lot of customization but you really can't change your outfit at all. The box starts are cool dragons but they are also ordinary bikes that are probably given to you (team up not beat up) and not earned so they aren't special in any way, might as well be regular generic ride pokemon like Tauros or Corvonite.
Exactly. Its not "three different stories".... Its one story with two side missions. We've had totems, alphas, dynamax, gigantamax and raid dens before...its not anything new, they're just calling it something different this time.
"Let's Go" mode is only required when you fight team star - its not forced outside of that.
And the ride mon is given to you at the beginning - but you still have to "unlock/earn" his abilities, so effort is required... making it feel "special"

Terastalize is awesome? Nah you’re crazy, nothing beats mega evolutions…
The overworld is huge. But the graphics details are really bland and sometimes off. The Roaming pokemons most are quite hard to see due its small size that sometimes gets blend together with the background. But i like they do swim and fly. Aiming the pokemon to the open world is hard. Theres no cursor or anything. It just automatically face the pokemon thats nearest. Quite slow and the dialogue sucks. Still no VA!!!

You can catch gimmighoul early in the game...no need to collect 1000 coins or whatever. They're in the wild in chest form.

Agreed, no idea why peopel want level scaling so bad. That would remove the need to ever level your mons.
@@lordfrz9339 instead of level scaling they could base the gym challenge level based on how many badges you already have. So essentially every gym would have eight different teams they use to properly challenge people taking on the gym challenge.

You can go in some store. Several building you can enter. Just most item shops are a kiosk, which isnt that bad. However, the clothing options are terrible. Each store has 1 type of item, hat store, shoe store, accessory store, bag store, phone case store. And they are just in a row, so why not just do 1 store?
And shop UI is litteraly like they thought theyr were still using gameboy hardware. List a long list of Hat1 blue, Hat1 green, Hat1 red, Hat2 blue, Hat2 Green. Instead of a modern UI were you pick the Hat1 then choose a color from a color picker. GF is terrible at UI and 3d tbh.
