Why on earth was Barnes starting that game? What did the Utah coaching staff see in him over Johnson? If Johnson plays that game it's not close. Johnson has a much better arm and was willing to throw on time. Barnes sat around and missed open guys all day. You've gotta be willing to pull the trigger!
Defense played great. Held them to one touchdown. Offense on the other hand was pathetic with Barnes. He couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn and held the ball too long every play which impacted the running game. Johnson should have taken over well before the 4th quarter. He could throw and run.
The other option was to let Utah burn the clock from inside the 5 then get a near automatic field goal for the win. They were trying to let Utah score and leave some time on the clock for a final drive.
