Nietzsche said "He who has a WHY to live for, CAN BEAR almost any how". To want to help people is a great why and that's why we Get After It. Thanks Jocko and Echo

I think Jocko's case is a good example of getting operational objectives right as fundamentally more important than an overarching yet oddly specific strategic vision. He keeps saying, "it just happened..." but you know he put his heart and soul into each project, each day. Each project was a stepping stone to success but he didn't necessarily frame exactly what the success would look like. "I'm going to have a podcast in three years...!!!....etc." is less important than doing good work. Each day. He probably just thought I am going to help people so I can raise my kids to be good people and support my wife in her life goals.

Good evening fellow countrymen! I would like to recommend more of the short 3 to 12 minute motivational clips on different topics, they fire me up, and I dont always have the time to settle in to a 1.5 hr + podcast

That's the thing man.... the more you train martial arts and get fit, the less bad ppl screw with you. Like Jocko said, troublemakers instinctively know what's up... every now and then though, you get someone who challenges you, which is probs why that random guy went face to face with Jocko

A couple of guys were causing trouble at a sports bar, the owner called his buddy who was a police officer but off duty at the time. The young police officer ended up paralyzed for life and the Dept did not back him up due to him being off duty.

Suppose Charlie is a professional fighter, and one week before a major title fight, Charlie's out with Jodie busting out some cool jumps on his raptor big bore 700r and gets injured. Charlie can not fight, but still needs to get paid so he can to eat. Does he get paid for not fighting just because he is a fighter, or does he need to pay for not fighting, that is, did Charlie breach the contract of agreement or is it considered a breach if Charlie is not paid.

Hold on in the middle of the podcast 1:23:35 Jocko just casually brings out a Kakriri machete?
Have no idea what it's called, but stilled threw me for a tiny loop when I just casually saw it.
From little cool looking knife to a bloody machete. Wish every episode was like this

Is 55 to old to begin BJJ? And Jocko, do you do spiritual/religious training? I am on target with you on your answer on your first question. I am an Anglican priest, Benedictine and do a type of soul training that aids in peacemaking. I was a wrestled 175lb in high school and have trained in some martial arts, and have wanted to become more in control of my body as well.
