I absolutely love wii party. It’s the perfect game to play with people and is great even for playing with people who don’t know anything about video games. Aside from that there are so many games that I never could get bored of it.
My sisters used to play it when I was born I broke when I became 7 in 2021 I got Wii Party pal so it did not work then I got one again and it worked love you Wii party 👍♥️♥️♥️🫶
me and my sister did the same thing, but it was 2014. We would look back on our old wii consoles to see what weird miis weve made and what songs we made in wii music. we even used the nonexistent note posts in the wii menu 🤭
True story: my cousins and siblings have played Wii Party almost every Thanksgiving/holiday since it came out. I don’t know why (the mini games are objectively not that great), but the gameplay of that mode is actually very fun and strategic and has served as the perfect annual competition for holiday get togethers for more than a decade. Dunk on Wii Party all you want (and it deserves it) but Swap Meet is an 11/10 when playing with four people.
Ive had this strange desire to replay a lot of the Wii games recently and Ive only played Sports and most of Resort but theyre just such great games that have dozens of games within them
I've been playing Wii Sports a lot recently and just cannot get over how good it is. I thought it was just gonna be "durr hurr nostalgia" but no it's actually really freaking good and I'm hooked
@Safwaan You only had it that long? I still have my Wii from 2006, the front cover is clean off but it still works to this day. I got it for my 10th birthday.
@Safwaan Ah, Homebrew my friend. It’s easy, and you can use anything from an sd card to a flash drive to a external hard drive, and you can play any wii or GameCube games. As well as consoles like PS1. Or use it like a media player. Some people may have ethical issues, but the store and the Wii line by extension are discontinued. So there’s no way to get repairs, and all the Wii games on the Wii store that’s now closed are only available through home brew means. It’s the only possible way to play Wii as it was intended at this point. But I did it early on which gave my Wii a very long shelf life since it’s my best all around console for crt’s.
As a reviewer it's hard for me to categorize Wii Play Motion as it is almost unanimously considered better than the original but for some reason the majority (including myself) also agree that it's more fun to replay the original. After playing Motion for the video I feel little incentive to replay any of the games but the original has things like Tanks, Billards, and even Fishing that can warrant a replay every once in a while.
Me, my friends and family absolutely loved wii party. It was really fun, and probably our favourite wii game we owned until the day when we inserted the disc in a wrong angle and broke it.
Wii Party had one of my favorite modes: Snitch. You had to unlock it but essentially, one person secretly had an advantage in the minigames and the other players had to figure out who it was. It was fun, especially when you managed to trick your friends hehe
I still go back to Wii Sports Resort a lot, just the games were so fun. But as a kid, I had a weird obsession with the jogging game in Wii Fit, just cause haha running around Wii Sports Island n stuff was just fun for me.
My ranking from best to worst: Wii Sports Resort (Amazing theming, very Nintendo-like, and made the original Wii Sports 10 times better! A CLASSIC!) Wii Fit U (It's actually pretty great! Some of the most unique uses of the Wii U GamePad and it even uses the camera pretty well! An alright fitness trainer, but an even better game!) Wii Fit Plus (Doesn't use Wuhu Island as much as the Wii U version and the games aren't as good as the sequel but is still a solid game!) Wii Sports (Innovative and fun and works well, but a little redundant because of Resort. It should still be high on my list because of its legacy and that sweet, generous price of $0!) Wii Party U (It's a pretty fun party game, with new modes and GamePad uses that make it standout more.) Wii Party (It's fun for a bit, but the sequel is better. Sorry for repeating that, but Nintendo kept making better versions of these Wii games!) Wii Fit (It's unnecessary because of the better sequels, but it's still not bad and might be better than Wii Party if I am being honest.) Wii Play Motion (A little more complex than Wii Play, but still... it's Wii Play) Wii Play (Very simple, but okay minigame collection. It was pretty much $10, so nothing too unexpected here. Could have done much better though.) Wii Sports Club (The most redundant game ever because it turned a free game into a slightly improved experience for $40! Not worth it!) Wii Music (One of the worst Nintendo games I've ever played. Had some potential... I guess.)
@@BottledPoe Yeah! That was an amazing touch! It’s probably one of the best ways of experiencing Wuhu Island in my opinion, with the gorgeous visuals and plenty of interesting mini games and exercises there! The Wii U gamepad was extremely cool and perhaps some of the best gamepad minigames ever were in Wii Fit U! It really is a Wii U hidden gem!
@@ericwijaya2119 I honestly have no clue. Unlike literally every Wii game, this feels like an adventure with some sort of story and motive. It’s so different! If I were to squeeze it on to this list somewhere... I would probably put it below Wii Sports maybe??? It has a load of personality, but it’s not always constant. Another problem is that the gameplay is a tad too repetitive and does not have much depth or challenge . Aside for that, it is great! The uses of Miis is cool, but the gameplay isn’t stimulating enough unfortunately. That’s just me though.
Great vid, but I personally disagree that the Wii Party soundtrack is "generic" dude lol. "Globe Trot" has some of the smoothest music I've heard in a party game
I had no idea Wii Sports Club even existed... Wii Play was actually good considering it came out before Resort and we didn't really have a lot of other things that used motion controls decently. I only played the originals (minus party) and Resort, other than Wii Fit U because it was basically free. I really wanted a Wii Paint one, like a remake of Mario Paint, which would have been a great addition to the otherwise rather similar lineup. Wii Music was really good once everything was unlocked, but it was so hard to unlock some of them. I loved the Animal Crossing songs in it, as as a kid who would often play some of these with friends, it was good. And oddly enough, my Wii from 2006 still works and my Wii U doesn't even boot up properly (gets stuck on the logo screen), so it's nice that some of the Wii games still hold up.
Fun Fact: The Wii Fit U pedometer is actually just a reskin of of the Pokewalker. (Just a pokemon themed pedometer that came with heart gold and soul silver.) So yeah, Nintendo probably didn't even make it.
Another fun fact: a research on pedometers at the time concluded that the pokewalker was one of, if not the best pedometer out at the time in terms of accuracy and tracking
I love this video, the comedic timing is often on point, not all of the jokes land for me but the ones that do REALLY do. The only thing I didn't like about the video were the random song sections at the start of each game's review, they just didn't work with the pacing and felt a lot more irritating than funny to me.
He said in a comment that the singing was meant to be bad as it’s part of the joke but having to explain that means the joke was bad too. I agree, the singing sections were so annoying and also weren’t that funny to me too. Hopefully this guy is able to work on his comedic abilities some more, I couldn’t help but think that he was trying to imitate Scott the Woz.
Good video! Only nitpick though, the motion plus is not an accelerometer, that was already built into the regular wii remote. The motion plus added a gyroscope which allowed the motions of the controller in the game to be identical to how you moved the wii remote in real life.
What I don’t like when people talk about Wii Party, is that too many of them think about Mario Party at the same, even though Wii Party isn’t trying to be like that at all. Quite literally the only similarity between the two is the genre they are in. Other than that, it’s really its own thing.
I played a ton of the Wii series. Here are my personals takes on them. Wii Sports: Loved it. Me and my family had fun every time we booted it up. Wii Fit: My mom used this a lot. I played the minigames once and then never again. Wii Party: So much nostalgia from this game. Wii Party U: Equal amount of nostalgia from this game too. Switch Sports: Pretty cool, but why the new characters?
I have to say actually I have so many fun memories with wii party! I have a group of friend that I invite to my house every once in a while and we play the dice island game and it’s always fun :))
This is your daily PSA saying that Miis are not gone completely from Nintendo Switch Sports, they just didn’t let you use them in the demo for whatever reason.
