    There is a reason most bush planes are tail draggers. You can see it in the video of the trike. The prop tends to hit things. Tail dragger once the tail is down the prop is up out of range of most stuff.

      Japan is a small island country. It is also a collection of many islands. So, I think the demand for waterplanes is great, but I think there are fewer waterplanes. The comfort of Japan's unique high-speed rail (Shinkansen) is the best.

    Some errors made in the specs for The Revelaero Voodoo aircraft. These planes come in 3 different models:
    1. Talon - will have a piston engine 80 HP
    2. Stryker - will have a piston engine 150 HP
    3. Voodoo - will have a jet engine. This is the only model that can be fitted with a jet engine.
    We’ll have an in-depth look on the prototype this weekend. Leave your comments below.

    • @donaldgrant9067
      @donaldgrant9067 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      The best part Tyler is they want it to train people in. So with the charge time every time you get done with your first student, how many students can you train in a day? I mean if it runs for 45 minutes and it takes 8 hours to charge it, you can only train maybe 2 people in a day.

    Please do a follow up next year with prices and which airplanes were actually produced. On the electri plane I was on a lesson with my instructor in the airport area and a plane crashed on the runway and the airport was closed so even though we had been up for and hour w just did some more airwork for a half hour or so and could have gone to another airport as we had 4 hours worth of fuel. 45 min nope.

    • @bigemugamer
      @bigemugamer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I doubt their drop tanks, I mean... where would you drop them, over enemy territory, over a farmers field, some random unoccupied landscape, water? and then what... send a car or boat to retrieve them or just forget about them? 1 it's littering and 2 I doubt they would survive impact. Then what, do you have 20 pairs of these things stacked on the wall cause they only cost $5 a drop tank when you buy in bulk???
      Edit: after thinking about it a bit, they could be removable tanks for maintenance, refueling or replacing when on the ground.

  • @brianb-p6586
    @brianb-p6586 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I watched this to see if any of the promised aircraft arrived - in 2022, two years after they were due - because the teaser image didn't.
    *Bristell H55* : no, delayed to mid-2022 (which means maybe never)
    *Darkaero 1* : no, manufacturer still offers only "reservations"
    *X-Project Revelaero* : this company doesn't even have a website, but from their Facebook page they seem to be working on a prototype... even though it's just yet another variation on the VariEze
    *Sling TSi Highwing* : the first flight of the prototype was in December 2020, so even if you can buy the kit now, it didn't make the promised schedule
    *Cubcrafters NX* : this is just tricycle version of an existing aircraft
    So as usual, none of the "this is what you can buy in year XXXX" products actually appeared, except for a trivial variant of an existing product.

    • @CurbSlayers
      @CurbSlayers 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any performance numbers in the experimental and light sport market need to be taken with a big grain of salt, at least until the plane’s actually been released and has some real world hours in owner hands.

    I can only consider 2 of these 5 as the other 3 are still only prototypes...the NXCub is legitimate, already seen the details around that one, the electric really isn't that great, overall, and I wouldn't use it as a trainer as you can't simulate piston engine problems in training and 45min -1hr just isn't good enough for training time per flight...all in all, only the Cub is what I would consider recommending...

    Some of these seem at the very early concept, they are showing CAD pictures. Mike, will they really be flying by 2020?

      The X-Project will probably roll out by Reno next year, they're looking to basically jumpstart a new Class of Sport Jet, with the success of the Sonex Jet the last couple of years they think thete will be enough interest. In reality? I doubt well see one in the wild before laye 2021 or 22. There's a Lot of innovation going on with these tiny Turbines though, theres a load of potential

      He wouldnt know. A lot of his vids are copied from manufacturers ad material and he probably reads from it too, so he has no inside information of his own.

      @@simonwatts9150, Yeah but common sense tells you that light aircraft don't go from CAD to flight in 1 year.
      I'm finding his videos increasingly flaky, with lack of detail and errors

    Could you at least put the knots as text on the screen when you mention the speeds? I have no idea about mph, and it's hard to compare it with other airplane since knots is usually the unit used in aviation.

      So if you are asking that kind of info you are not a pilot.

      Daniel Lebron I am but it doesn’t matter, nobody outside the US is using mph in aviation, we adopted to the imperial knots already from the much more logical metric system. Not willing to learn a third unit of reference.

      The aviation in the US has adopted the knots as the standard way of measuring speed, but Mike tries to talk to the rest of the US who are not yet pilots. 1.15 MPH = 1 knot. Just take the MPH and divide it by 1.15. Good luck!

      A agree I would prefer to hear the speed in knots not MPH.

    Mike at 1:17 you made a statement that does not compute; you don't use gasoline for the Bristell but you use batteries and the power density of battery is 40 times less than that of gasoline. In airplanes weight control is the king. And how many hours does it take to recharge the batteries and electricity is not cheap.
    Also $150.000 airplane that has a flight time of 45 minutes is totally uneconomical no matter how you butter it.

      considering the cost you can prolly take a 6 month flying course.... 100 times before having enough money to actually buy one so for now just focus on leisurely acquiring your pilots license and in 50 years when you may be able to afford it these types of aircraft will still be on the market.
