Nah this is actually something they have been doing for like 20+ years with Nobunagas Ambtion and RoTK, when starting a new game you go through the game settings and 1 of the options is to allow female officers or have them just appear in events.
It's been a thing since the PS2 era man. Chill. Heck, you can forge entire harems of female generals with created officers, or switch it on with the settings.
Now I see why Motochika has come to be known as the Little Demon

seriously siege battle in this game is too much if you are the invader.
