Exactly! She made very bad and dangerous decisions! Now she's crying about her just consequences! That's what's wrong with this country. People think they can do whatever they want and not have consequences 😢

Clear, valuable comments from Rep. Moran. He made two excellent points: that a university has to be, first and foremost, a place of learning which ensures safety and a climate of civil discourse to all its members, students and staff, without harassment. Secondly, a person's actions (or lack of them) has consequences. Claudine Gay did not take a strong moral stance on pro-terror rallies on campus and heckling Jewish students in class. She should have made the policy statement that one violation would entail a serious warning which would be noted on the student's record, a second violation expulsion from the university.

Have you seen the side by side comparisons of her work to the publications they were taken from? As the leader of the preeminent university in America - she has to be an example of academic rigor. She said she believes in that ethic - but her actions belies her words.

I agree that the plagiarism charge was a smokescreen to get rid of Ms. Gay. That being said, her primary role as leader of Harvard was to establish a safe school environment... something she either couldn't or wouldn't do! She allowed Pro-Hamas students to rampage throughout the school, bringing fear in the hearts of Jewish students. When these students complained (repeatedly), she did nothing! Now, I'm not implying that Ms. Gay should have lost her job... but I'm saying that Ms. Gay should have LOOKED PAST ideology and race and treated ALL students with respect. The fact that she couldn't created a mess. May this serve as a warning to other institutions of higher learning... students, no matter what their ideology or faith, deserve to feel safe, heard, and respected.

All of thé faculty that signed a letter backing her should have also received thé same. Close thé school down for a year and hire thé best people that you Can for each position, not people based on what théy look liké. Barrack Obama should also bé exposed for campaigning to keep her After she made her feelings known about that it is ok to talk about genociding an ethnicity of people simply because of their ethnicity and actions would only be taken against these perpetrators after they started actually doing it..

I personally feel sure that the only reason Harvard’s Gay had to resign was because Harvatd saw how they would lose donations and have more negative publicity that would hinder their student enrollmennt.
I also feel pretty darn sure that no way a new and inexperienced president of Harvard would’ve been so bold as to ignore calls for genocide on students, unless she felt real confident that the administration shared her views.
How upset could they be with her? They simply moved her to a position as a professor, with a very high salary.
They should be gotten rid of too.

How encouraging to see a public figure with the wisdom and courage to uphold objective truth and the values which are the bedrock of Western Civilization, insidiously eroded since the sixties.
I have witnessed in UK and Australia a similar erosion by an increasingly aggressive radical left but in general our consevatives have acted and spoken with less conviction than, for example, Republicans in Congress.
For the sake of the American people and the world I hope the coming election might be a radical turning point.

Because any criticism or accountability is ALWAYS, 100% of the time, called racist. No black has EVER done ANYTHING wrong or sub par...it's ALWAYS just simple racism, 100% of the time. So, enough. You are playing word games. Nobody said that the president or the students couldn’t have their own political views.
If you had a child in school, who was being bullied for race or gender or whatever, would you just shrug your shoulders and tell the kid to suck it up, because everbody needs to have free speech?
If you were a principal in a school and students were talking about genocide for a particular group in a way that intimidated and menaced any child, would you just say suck it up, we have free speech?
If so, like Gay, you would need to be requested to resign. Really you would need to be fired and not be put in a lower position in the school as a teacher or whatever. Because you are hostile to human beings who are
      different from you.
Students are to be protected from bullying and harassment. If you can’t see the difference between bullying and menacing harassment and political views, it’s because you don’t want to.
