    UPDATE - New version board as from 11.2015 has slightly different calibration procedure, THX to David in the comments below:
    "push both sticks down and into the outside corners of the TX while the heli is powered on, the light will blink rapidly then stop".

    Does anyone know how to set the ESC throttle endpoints for the XK 110/120, etc?

      @MicroRCFiend  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This may help you. th-cam.com/video/myPFeL7ykII/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=MicroRCFiend
      You must set mid stick collective and zero pitch via subtrim first. Only then set 1st and last pitch curve entry to give you even pitch both ways. Then you can do 3G calibration. Then you can do 6G calibration. Doing calibrations before pitch setup is useless

      Thanks, but this appears to be transmitter/receiver calibration. Somehow, I've managed to mess up the low end throttle point setting in the ESC itself, and I cannot figure out how to reset it...

    • @MicroRCFiend
      @MicroRCFiend  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only way I know to adjust throttle is that channel directly in the transmitter.
      I am not aware of anyway to adjust the throttle without the transmitter - nothing is saved on the FC unless something fundamental changed from v1 I have.
      Can you demonstrate your problem clearly in a video with more details about how you altered it? I'm not sure I totally follow what state your heli is in.
      It could be a number of things but throttle curve out of whack woudl be my first guess if nothing is actually damaged.
      Have you created a new model in TX and tried with that?

    • @ExSkyCyclePilot
      @ExSkyCyclePilot 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've tried everything, including a hard radio reset... I fully understand calibration, throttle curves, pitch curves, trims, etc. They have nothing to do with this issue. Here's the problem: My main motor does not start turning until the throttle is moved to at least 35%. And this is regardless of pitch curve settings, or any other settings for that matter. Until the display on the radio says "35%" throttle, the main motor stays off. Cyclic works. Tail rotor starts... Just not the main motor.
      I was told that, somehow, I've told the ESC that 35% is the bottom end of my throttle. I know the problem is in the ESC, because I have a second helicopter, and I temporarily plugged the ESC in question into the other helicopter, and had the same problem. This isn't a setting, radio, or receiver problem. It's an ESC problem. I'm stumped on how to fix it...

      Unless it lest you calibrate ESC manually which I was not at all aware of I really have no idea.
      Manual calibration on any normal ESC setup is power with throttle at max, wait for beeps and then power to min although I was under the impression these XK were locked. It certainly never worked on any of their brushless stuff for me that way from quads to helis but I've always had early releases and they do love to change stuff from 1 version to another.
      If throttle curve has zero impact on the actual throttle produced I got nothing bud. ESC swap you confirmed it's a board issue so unless it can actually be calibrated manually, it may be faulty. Sorry I can't help or point you in the right direction even. If you do get resolve i'd be curious how you sorted it.

    that's a good idea to hold it while u do it I always feel like it gets to crazy and I didn't calibrate it right. but to hold it steady is a great idea.

    • @MicroRCFiend
      @MicroRCFiend  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it would calibrate properly if you hold it, in fact i'm sure it won't. I literally couldn't fly it here as I mashed servo gears and was waiting for spares.

    hello again, i thought i read somewhere that you can save multiple models on this transmitter? I hate having to change all my pitch and throttle curves when i switch between my k120 and x350. Is this possible? Thanks in advance for the help

    • @MicroRCFiend
      @MicroRCFiend  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, press the two far left buttons together for a couple seconds and a second menu will pop up that allows you to change models, subtrim etc.
      Model 0 is first
      1 is your second and so on. 10 models in total but you can't add a name of any sort.
      This vid shows that menu at the start but the audio is low

    ☠BLACK BARON☠ 0:16 Is there a way to reset the motherboards on XKs back to factory defaults using the binding button?

    • @MicroRCFiend
      @MicroRCFiend  ปีที่แล้ว

      From memory I think you hold the 'mode' and 'back' buttons down for 5 seconds while powering on the system. You may need a third hand :) Of that's not correct, it is in the manual in chinglish for the X6

      @@MicroRCFiend ☠BLACK BARON☠ It hits your Heli hard to the right while trying to "Fly-In" the RC Heli in 6G mode. It's way too aggressive and complicated on my opinion. No good Engineering.

    Hello sir, do you have a process of calibration using jumper t12 in this helicopter

    • @MicroRCFiend
      @MicroRCFiend  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No as I did not need to do any calibrations beyond subtrim to ensure mid pitch and even pitch both ways (basic mechanical setup required for setup with any transmitter). If you T12 is setup correctly, the procedure should be identical to the stock TX though.

    • @youtubeyoutube-mv3mg

      @@MicroRCFiend ok with this sir, anyway can you help me on how to setup pitch curve on jumper t12? Im having a hard time to set up it..

    • @MicroRCFiend
      @MicroRCFiend  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@youtubeyoutube-mv3mg Open TX has a tab for curves where you can create whatever you need and then those are applied in the previous tabs where you need them such as the mixer tab in this case. I used a diagonal 0 - 100 for normal when setting mine up and a 100 flat for idle up.
      Since I only ever used normal for more gentle spool up or reduce speed before landing, I now just use both as idle up so I can have 2 headspeeds instead. Here's some pics of my setup that shows what I tried to describe. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1irfe27S1_MLhmwawd7GzicUEYB-h-x_6

    Hello. Is the throttle on the tx that comes with it a ratcheting throttle or smooth?

    • @MicroRCFiend
      @MicroRCFiend  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +HvPman Smooth but not sprung to centre on collective, only rudder. You have tension adjustments inside if you want but ratcheting is not a good choice for 3D.

    Does this procedure works for WLtoys K123 AS350 as well?

    • @MicroRCFiend
      @MicroRCFiend  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd guess the K123 is the same as the K120 so yes but they made a V2 that's apparently different so if that's not working for you try holding both stick down AND to the outside corners.
      All my XK helis work with just holding down but they are all first version I think.

    hello friend , what is this procedure exactly?? tnks

    • @MicroRCFiend
      @MicroRCFiend  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Niw PL Depends on your version, I only have 1st one with extra board on the rx. I can pull down on both sticks after binding and hold till lights flash (heli must be in 6G, normal mode only). When lights flash you are in calibration mode so must hover smoothly and level for a few seconds - 5 seems plenty. Then land heli and hold both sticks straight down again to exit calibration mode for 6G. It works on K120, K110, X350 and just tried on X251 with success too.

  • @MicroRCFiend
    @MicroRCFiend  8 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is the last step of calibrations. You must set mid stick collective and zero pitch via subtrim first. Only then set 1st and last pitch curve entry to give you even pitch both ways. Then you can do 3G calibration. Then you can do 6G calibration. Doing calibrations before pitch setup is useless.
