Watching this a second time gives me flashbacks to 2000. I was 17 years old, fresh out of high school. I had talked to a national guard recruiter. I needed to drop some weight before joining. I got a job with my pops working construction. Everything was going good, I was in the best shape of my life. Just got a raise. And things were amazing. December 19th 2000, walking across a scaffold board taking my pops a tape measure and the board snapped. I fell 16 feet landing on my head and neck. I fractured 2 vertebrae, broke my right hand almost completely off, and separated my shoulder. The worst was a tear across the Bronchus tube to my left lung. I dont remember much of what happened after. Just coughing up blood and not being able to breathe as air filled my chest cavity. After an emergency surgery I was in poor shape. Medically induced coma, on a ventilator on 100% o2. The doctors sat my parents down to tell them they should consider taking their 17 year old son off of life support. They said give me another 7 days. After 22 days in ICU, and almost 2 months in the hospital I walked out of riverside hospital in Newport News Virginia. You shared your story with us so I'm sharing mine with you. Survivors, keep those lines tight my brother. And happy fishing.

Turns out my mentor as a neurosurgery registrar was the same man that operated me all those years ago. Life has a curious way of setting us on our path. And my disease put the first stepping stone towards what would become my dream job. Yes, it's Indeed a really hard discipline but it's so rewarding seeing people getting better after going through this kind of procedures that I cannot depict myself doing anything different. Remember lads, we are here to improve people's quality of life, and some of us have gone through that daunting experience and made a living out of it. I have a friend that was only 16 when he passed from a brain tumor a little over a year ago. I knew him since elementary and everyone was very hurt. When he found out about it, it was too late and when he was on his way to surgery it ruptured something in his brain and he went brain dead. We all still miss him till this day, he would have graduated from high school this year 😔

Yes biology is an insanely fascinating subject. I’m a year one medical student and I feel like there exists no subject which is better than human biology and zoology . I’m glad we have all the technology and equipment’s to really dig deep into this intriguing subject . Thank god for all his myriad creations

I’m 17 and just found out I have a pituitary adenoma that is pushing on my optic nerve and it will have to be removed through transphenoidal surgery. My dad had the same surgery April 24th had a massive stroke after but Tirr is helping him. He had to have a craniotomy done he got his skull put back in today.

Watching this gives me flashbacks to 2017 a couple of days before Christmas having a brain surgery at 15 due to my shunt being completely broken. The headaches were awful and my family thought it was exam stress but it wasn’t. Hope I never have to go through that again, but I’m doing a lot better now! Thanks for reminding me that I’m not alone

I'm glad that the operation was successful! God has still a purpose for your life. My 13-year-old son Sean was diagnosed of having a Pineal gland tumor last December 2021. Although a brain operation was performed on him called ETV(Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy) which diverted the passage of water being blocked by the tumor, he passed away last April 2, 2022, or barely 4 months after the first manifestation of the symptoms like vomiting, nausea, headache, double vision, loss of balance and coordination, etc. In our place here in the Philippines, we still don't have that kind of surgery that will remove the Pineal gland tumor. We also learned that it was an aggressive type of tumor. I'm still grieving over my son's death but I'm comforted on the other hand knowing that he is now in heaven with Jesus, his Lord, and Savior.

I cried my eyes out when they wheeled you off to theatre. My baby grandson 4 years old had brain surgery on his cerebellum last year, he was as brave as you, but had no idea what was happening to him. I can’t image being wheeled into theatre knowing what was going to happen, you where amazing. Sending love and that you for making me have a good cry and getting it out of my system. The little man will probably need to go back for surgery when he hits his teens. And I hope this Nana is still able to go in with him again.
At the end of February 2021, I was hit in the forehead with 12000 lbs of force. My frontal lobe and skull were removed. Most of my skull was replaced with titanium. I'm blessed to be alive. The worst part was seeing my wife's face as she showed me the post operation pictures. Hope you are doing well. Every day is a blessing.

Justin, I just had brain surgery, 2 surgeries in 3 days actually since the post op CT scan found more problem spots behind the original spot. It’s been 3 weeks since the second surgery and everything is great. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience and most importantly thanks for being so positive through it all. I was very scared before surgery but I kept reminding myself that you had a way more intense procedure and you still stayed positive (and survived) and that helped me more than you can imagine! Had brain surgery for Trigeminal Neuralgia some 20 years ago. Had to wait my turn for the OT in the hospital surgical waiting room for six hours. It was the lowest and loneliest time of my life, much like French Revolution prisoners in the CONCIERGERIE, waiting for their names to be called to join the tumbrils to take them to the ‘national razor’.

I'm 12 and I had a right frontal lobe brain tumor removed 3 moths ago luckily it was a dnet soo no cancer after I woke up I realized they shaved my head a bit and it was sticky I was having excruciating pain it is definitely I had to go through 2 because they didn't fully get it the first time I was extremely scared buh my face never changed expression I was on the new in Topeka Kansas your hair where the incision was made may never grow back I am completely on your side and hope nothing goes bad for you I am with you.

I had my 8th brain surgery last year so I know what you're going through, Thankfully it was only surgery I actually remember happening once they told me my shunt wasn't working anymore, The doctors and nurses were so sweet to me the 2 days I spend there, Got 2 Thank you cards , One for the nurses and one for the surgeon
I was admitted to the hospital after someone attacked me with a crowbar and ended up having to have brain surgery to remove fragments of my skull from my brain. Your recovery moments are exactly what I went through. That walk, the eating, everything. I know exactly how that feels. I'll tell you the scariest part of the whole thing was when I had to sign papers for possibly needing a transfusion. When they gave those papers to me, I was like look, either I'm going to wake up after a successful surgery or I'm not. Once you put that anesthesia in me, I'm out. I'll wake up or I won't.
Had brain surgery for a golf ball sized tumour that had been crushing my brain. I had the same sense of humour based defence mechanism for confidence as you seemed to have before going in. All better now. Scary stuff though. Glad to see it went well for you man!

Watching this gives me flashbacks to 2017 a couple of days before Christmas having a brain surgery at 15 due to my shunt being completely broken. The headaches were awful and my family thought it was exam stress but it wasn’t. Hope I never have to go through that again, but I’m doing a lot better now! Thanks for reminding me that I’m not alone

I believe what you said I've had seizure's all my life and the doctor told my mom that she's not going to live. But I had my first surgery and it failed. So I'm going for my second one and I pray to god that it will be sucessful. Amen.

I'm glad that the operation was successful! God has still a purpose for your life. My 13-year-old son Sean was diagnosed of having a Pineal gland tumor last December 2021. Although a brain operation was performed on him called ETV(Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy) which diverted the passage of water being blocked by the tumor, he passed away last April 2, 2022, or barely 4 months after the first manifestation of the symptoms like vomiting, nausea, headache, double vision, loss of balance and coordination, etc. In our place here in the Philippines, we still don't have that kind of surgery that will remove the Pineal gland tumor. We also learned that it was an aggressive type of tumor. I'm still grieving over my son's death but I'm comforted on the other hand knowing that he is now in heaven with Jesus, his Lord, and Savior.

I cried my eyes out when they wheeled you off to theatre. My baby grandson 4 years old had brain surgery on his cerebellum last year, he was as brave as you, but had no idea what was happening to him. I can’t image being wheeled into theatre knowing what was going to happen, you where amazing. Sending love and that you for making me have a good cry and getting it out of my system. The little man will probably need to go back for surgery when he hits his teens. And I hope this Nana is still able to go in with him again.

At the end of February 2021, I was hit in the forehead with 12000 lbs of force. My frontal lobe and skull were removed. Most of my skull was replaced with titanium.
I'm blessed to be alive. The worst part was seeing my wife's face as she showed me the post operation pictures.

Justin, I just had brain surgery, 2 surgeries in 3 days actually since the post op CT scan found more problem spots behind the original spot. It’s been 3 weeks since the second surgery and everything is great. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience and most importantly thanks for being so positive through it all. I was very scared before surgery but I kept reminding myself that you had a way more intense procedure and you still stayed positive (and survived) and that helped me more than you can imagine! I know this video is a few years old but I hope all is well!! Thank you again!

It was the lowest and loneliest time of my life, much like French Revolution prisoners in the CONCIERGERIE, waiting for their names to be called to join the tumbrils to take them to the ‘national razor’.

I'm 12 and I had a right frontal lobe brain tumor removed 3 moths ago luckily it was a dnet soo no cancer after I woke up I realized they shaved my head a bit and it was sticky I was having excruciating pain it is definitely I had to go through 2 because they didn't fully get it the first time I was extremely scared buh my face never changed expression I was on the new in Topeka Kansas your hair where the incision was made may never grow back I am completely on your side and hope nothing goes bad for you I am with you.

I had my 8th brain surgery last year so I know what you're going through, Thankfully it was only surgery I actually remember happening once they told me my shunt wasn't working anymore, The doctors and nurses were so sweet to me the 2 days I spend there, Got 2 Thank you cards , One for the nurses and one for the surgeon

I was admitted to the hospital after someone attacked me with a crowbar and ended up having to have brain surgery to remove fragments of my skull from my brain. Your recovery moments are exactly what I went through. That walk, the eating, everything. I know exactly how that feels. I'll tell you the scariest part of the whole thing was when I had to sign papers for possibly needing a transfusion. When they gave those papers to me, I was like look, either I'm going to wake up after a successful surgery or I'm not. Once you put that anesthesia in me, I'm out. I'll wake up or I won't.
Had brain surgery for a golf ball sized tumour that had been crushing my brain. I had the same sense of humour based defence mechanism for confidence as you seemed to have before going in. All better now. Scary stuff though. Glad to see it went well for you man!
