This is a great video topic. I was wondering similarly because I have tattoos on my wrists, and I started locs during the pandemic because going to the salon became too much. I’m striving for a polished look no matter what. And nails too, I’m not wearing extensions for a while, I’m doing simple gel manicures now.
This is a fantastic topic. As a member who has been a part of her org for years, I recently had an experience that centered around this same topic. I won’t go into details, but I will tell interests to definitely present a more conservative version of yourself when starting and going through your intake process. Once you join, express yourself how you choose, whether hair tattoos or piercings. Just make sure to dress appropriately for sorority events and you should be fine.
Agreed. I recently became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, INC and toned down my colored braids, long bright nails and over the top lashes during the process. But now that I’m a member, I’m back to doing beauty how I like. Except more blue hair now instead of pink! 😂 I’d tell anyone trying to pursue membership to tone it down a bit and be more professional, but once you’re through, express yourself however you choose as long as you’re adhering to the guidelines and protocol for events.
@@KelsTells I meant to also add that I laughed about the pantyhose because not only would you wear them but also a slip if your dress was a little to sheer when speaking with your Grand Basileus! Decorum is still important. 🙂
My LS had numerous piercings and she had no issues while joining. Just be sure that you dress appropriately for meetings and events, and as Kells stated, you will need to wear pantyhose for certain things there’s no way around that.
@@KelsTells Can you please talk about acrylic nails? I wear extra long nails, will I have to cut them before showing interest? Thanks for all of your help!

Is it a good thing when the chapter of an organization, as well as members of that chapter request to follow you on social media? My insta is clean (no racy pics or slogans on my page).
Hey do you mind if I contact you privately with questions on IG maybe? I have so many and our NPHC is sort of put up I hardly see them unless at events and that’s not a good time to ask them questions honestly so if you have some time I would love that.

I have so many tattoos and I was invited to join Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. My chapter has majority of people who have tattoos. It shouldn’t matter.

Lol Listen, I don't want that "two finger tap" sis. So pantyhose it is! Great topic.
Can you please talk about piercings and joining D9?
What’s your question about them? It’s the same standards as for tattoos

The way my hair is blonde with pink and purple sections at the back😔😔
I don't like Tattoos 😞. U have the right to wear them. I am a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho. 😀🎶🎊🎉
That's fine. We all have different likes, Soror 😊. That's what makes us diverse!
