The Metropolitan was bought for that purpose but was waaaay too rough. The project would be a big part of the channel and just don't know if a foreign mini truck fits the part. Seems like he had two of them. One of them was pretty dominant showed in the background about 38 episodes ago. They are easy folks to get along with. I'd be glad to put you in touch with them. So you can talk with them no strings attached. If I remember right the truck is pretty straight and rust free but it's been a while since I've seen it. He is many many hours from me. There's another one that another guy has. It's identical to this one on this episode. Great body, but no windshield. He recently commented on this episode. I believe the trucks for sale. It's a hobby of mine just connecting people. Those windshields are hard to find without having them made. People have suggested using LEXAN. Hey thanks for sharing the story. Tow truck conversion sounds great. Remember these titles from the mid to late seventies and they had campers on them and they had duals? Have a great day.
In the mid-nineties I moved to Colona BC Canada. I was going to college I picked up a 1973 Datsun pick up truck. I drove it for a couple of years it was old then but was quite reliable. I didn't see many vehicles like that in Ontario because the salt rots our vehicles out and honestly if they last 20 years you're very lucky.

That has soaked his project and he's moving on to something else. His truck is essentially rust free I'm not talking about surface for us. It was in the right place out in California. He took a lot of grief from certain individuals cuz he picked a Japanese import over some of the Detroit iron that was sitting there. It is a beautiful rocket 88 1950 model that got squished. I definitely could use some parts off of it for mine. If you can find somebody who wants his truck, I mean really wants it then it's probably worth a fair amount. I wouldn't mind having it but it's just an oddball thing. And I like oddball things. It's a very interesting item. He did not leave a comment because I did not see his thumbnail. That's surprising. I'm pretty sure he knows where some parts are but not a windshield. 👍
Oh man, that's alot for a windshield! Well our eyes are open for these things now that we have one. Something pops up, we'll give you a heads up. Wouldnt mind finding a speedometer for it and naturally any rustfree panels would be nice but we're content with it the way it is. We would be happy to just find the speedo. Thanks for the heads up....we'll be real careful not to crack our windshield now for sure! lol
Loved this video. Cool little truck. My Pap had one, when i was a kid, not sure of the year, but looked alot like that. Liked the fact that you left the bee's nest in the front bumper. Yea it aint much of a power plant but this thing is geared pretty low. Got a granny low thing going on and I can hit high gear at what seems like 30mph or so.
I'm gonna keep my eyes and ears open for parts. 64 65 66 sedans a d station wagons have the same speedo and gauge cluster. See a few of them out here in the Northwest. I'll try to send you any parts I can get.
Yea, I've seen those old tin cans, I could use an arm load of them to patch the floors in this old Datsun! Don't take much to dent it, I'll tell ya that!
Hello 👋 folks, This is Gas Pump Rob - Petro Media on TH-cam. My good friend Car Old Discover shared your video with me . I have watched it a couple of times and I must say I enjoyed it. I am the guy in California that saved a 64 Datsun 320 like yours from being crushed in a salvage yard that was being shut down. It’s white and has rust free panels but the engine is locked up and it’s near impossible to find a windshield. I am probably going to list it on bring a trailer or Craigslist soon . Let someone else rebuild it or use the body on a different chassis. BTW I just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for saving that cool pickup and for sharing. Rob

Busted!! Yea they put the hammer down on us. The truck is actually pretty up to snuff, believe it or not..the trailer is too. Just a corroded ground on the trailer light. My days of doing the mechanical work was done after the first disc said goodby! When the second and third left, I just about all but quit entirely! Now I only do my own light duty repairs, while the major work I now fetch wrenches for my son, who is a mechanic at a Dodge dealership!
Haha.. guessin the roads there in his neck of the woods are better than ours! lol. Were big Puddin fans here and like his channel. Too old for lowered stuff myself but I don't hate it. My father bought a 1964 Datsun Service Ute in 1964. It was like a 2dr sedan with a ute back section. I hated it then because we had a 1957 Chrysler Plainsman wagon with a 313ci V8 and auto with overdrive that could do 125mph before the Datsun. The Datsun was flat out at about 65mph. I wouldn't mind having both now, lol. (In Australia).
I've seen pics of those and like you I think they're cool now but back then, I may not of cared so much for it. That Chrysler sounds pretty cool too! Thanks for watching!

We try to grab up dog dish caps from time to time but the full wheel hubcaps we pass on. They mostly tend to lay around here and get damaged more than anything. As i recall, the engine in those was a 1095 cc, called an 1100. My kid brother had a 65 320.

Thanks! Appreciate ya watching. Love those old Darts. Normally we ditch the 13'' or 14'' wheels and upgrade to 15''. We try to grab up dog dish caps from time to time but the full wheel hubcaps we pass on. They mostly tend to lay around here and get damaged more than anything. Rather see someone who needs them grab them up. Thanks for asking though!

I'd be giving the 1200cc motor the heave ho and putting a later Datsun/Nissan 4 cylinder motor in it.
Possibly ... eventually! Wanna get the real feel of of a 60's Datsun pickup on the road for a bit then maybe a blown hemi or something! lol. Check back!
