- Today we will be exploring the past, present, and future of motion controls in the Dragon Quest series. From a home TV game to room-scale VR experiences, Dragon Quest has more of a history in motion controls than you'd think. Motion controls are largely forgotten in the franchise, but is there a place for them in the future?

When I went to the VR Zone in Shinjuku they had a multiplayer Dragon Quest experience that looked really cool.

2 more things! 1. I preferred the experience of DQ Kenshin over DQ Swords overall because it actually has a combo system where certain types of cuts can result in special attacks (Like Grand Cross/Pearly Gates and Gigaslash)
2. My wife and I got to play DQ VR and it was an incredible experience! I was the 2nd Warrior and she was the Mage. I almost fell over when we cast the Zoom spell because it just rockets you into the sky 😂! The shield and sword had some weight to them, and the sword had like a weighted slider to make the cuts feel very good. As the 2nd Warrior I got to wield the Zenithian Sword once I hit max level which was amazing because it’s my favorite weapon of all time! The first Warrior was a little kid (his dad was our Priest) and he got to wield Erdrick’s sword. The game is in both English and Japanese, iirc it was also fully voiced in both. We got absolutely bodied during the final boss fight, because when Zoma appeared the little guy who was our Warrior got scared and hid behind his dad (the Priest). The dad tried to push him back to the front, but with our healer dead, we died in one more Kacrackle spell hahaha
Kenshin has a few things I prefer over swords, but I think overall I like swords more as an overall package. It must have been great to experience DQ VR, it looks like a lot of fun.
I have kenshin aswell need to play it to completion its not a bad experience

Sure wish I thought of the tinfoil trick when I played this haahaha! I got to the Dragon Lord but have never beaten him, partially due to jank. Some of the later boss fights are really fun though!
It actually worked a lot better than I expected, I still need to play through the full game, one day

This was a great video... but I'm very baffled by the PNGtuber sprite of yourself at the start of the video??? It was really good, like, all the live action shots made sense and I'm grateful to have learned about the obscure plug-n-play console. I'm just. I keep thinking about the matpat style png that you rattle like a maraca at the start without any explanation and afdjhgshfgjsdfhg
