I feel your pain. We have lost many animals this year ourselves. The biggest was. We had about 50 chickens up till about 2 months ago. We have 12 left. Luckily the probably was solved. Hopefully you will get yours resolved too. Have a great day.
Oh man this really hits home. There was a time earlier in the year where every morning I went out to feed the chickens and ducks I was afraid of what I’d find. Losing them is never easy. Emotions run the gamut of frustration, sadness and anger. And then the garden flopped due to the business of life and outside pressures. I remember thinking after the harvest of our meat chickens how much of the year was a failure. But it’s not really a failure when you learn and grow from those experiences right? I decided to take the little victories as motivation to keep going and to use the failures as opportunities to grow and do better next time around. Thanks for sharing this Ben. ❤️
Aw, man.. It's always super discouraging to work SO hard then have it flop. But constantly learning is key. Take it as it is and move forward. I can't imagine how commercial farmers feel when a whole field or whole crop fails..
I agree, my parents tried to raise chickens as well, mainly for the eggs cause the price for them in stores was more than the monthly budget allowed….but I don’t think they were really prepared for it. Out of all of us, mom was the only one who had any experience with chickens as her family had some back when she was a child. Each of us kids were allowed to ‘claim’ a chicken to help encourage us to look after the flock. I did something different and claimed the rooster instead, naming him Foghorn Leghorn after the Looney Tunes character…lol. The raccoon eventually got him but it wasn’t without a fight, my rooster gave everything he had and then some before going down…
Ha your the guy that hijacked the one of the NB Facebook groups I blocked you on there cuz you were more interested in selling yourself then actually partaking in the group. LOL

I so admire the way you keep at it and keep it real. No false pretense there! That bunny clip though... makes me cry every time!!
I'm so happy you made this. I started really slow with my garden and boy did that flop this year. All we can do is pressing and try again.
The garden did SO bad... 🙄 Gah. Like embarrassingly
Loosing animals is so hard. We talk about a lot in the Homesteading community I'm in. I'm so sorry.
@@sinsraven its weird because we raise them to eat them but it's still hard when the freaking things die when they're not supposed to!

I know the feeling i get so attached.
We bought 10 acres of forest neat Hatfield point. Excited to move and get started.
Good to see another New Brunswick homestead on here!!
Plenty of us east coasters around! 🙌
arrogance or ignorance, you are learning and that is the big deal.
Loved it
Thank you 🥰
