Hi there from a Chicago native living in San Diego (El Cajon) for 8 years.
I do enjoy your content but for my honest opinion about San Diego but unfortunately it’s not my type of city since the beach isn’t my thing plus it’s too expensive. I have plans to move back home but definitely will visit SD. I’ve tried Chicago deep dish pizza places in San Diego and it wasn’t very good at all. Downtown San Diego is nothing compared to Downtown Chicago also the San Diego trolley sucks, not as fun riding The L in Chicago. I love Polish food but San Diego doesn’t have any also a lack of Eastern European food in SD. Pomegranate Russian/Georgian in North Park has some delicious Eastern European food, you should do a video of you trying Pomegranate in North Park SD.
I lived in San Diego for over 40 years moved to Riverside County in 2013. I agree with your take. San Diego has some great restaurants that I can say but the quality of life has deteriorated. I lived in El Cajon for about 22 years.
I always stay in Little Italy when I’m in SD. Great job, Jay!

Thanks for showing us Little Italy, it loos so vibrant with a great place for food and drink. Your Air B&B looked nice and fancy. It was good to see your lady friend and Dan and the other guy. Are you familiar with the realtor Welsey Guest? He lives Downtown ,loves the Padres ,rides a skateboard, and makes good videos about San Diego. When I lived in SD over 30yrs,I don't remember Little Italy being popular. I also mainly lived uptown in North Park and Mission Hills. I did once look at apartments near the airport and it was strange hearing the planes flying so close.
Yeah mission hills and little italy get a ton of plane noise. Never heard of him. Sounds fun!
Little Italy has a lot to offer for such a small space. It’s a must go when ever I’m in San Diego.

That’s interesting Jaycation that you would choose Little Italy as a permanent residence if you were solo in San Diego. I wonder who achieves tremendous success transplanting themselves from somewhere into some area of San Diego? I visited all the buroughs and areas when I lived there. I took a date to Waterfront because it was just around the bend from my condo.
