We have a couple of ferries that cross Lake MI. One being high speed, takes 2 hours, 20 minutes, 80 miles, 1 way and costs a lot more than $60.
Been there done that sooo many times..
I have a 1989 29ft travel craft. I'm glad to see yours in the video. You don t see too many 30+ motorhome out their. Good luck out there and have fun
Thanks for posting the video that addresses the same concerns I have about taking my RV on a ferry for the first time. You're right, the WSF site does not help much.
When we lived in Alaska we took our trailer on the Alaska State Ferry a few times. One time my husband had to back our trailer onto the ferry!!! Needless to say that really freaked him out but everything worked out okay. 😃
Thanks Jim!
Water , salty, deeper than 5 ft. Ocean
pretty cool
Thank you so much for your video. We are newbie RVers and just bought a Georgetown 364TS. It's 38 feet and 8'5" wide. We'll be making this trip in about a month and were concerned about the ferry and as you said the website is not helpful! Very much appreciate this info! Wish us luck!
I'm glad I could help. I was worried about that all day and the fairy was actually quite simple. Good luck and enjoy it's a fun ride.
Very nice and a very beautiful lady you have there.
Thanks for the video. My wife and I will be doing just that in Oct. Does the $60 include the two passengers or did you have to buy those separately? They did not make this clear on the website.Thanks.
Thank you for your video, I have a pick up plus a rv trailer, combined 39 feet, would that be ok to go this route ferry? Thanks
thx for the video.. we have 34 ft class A towing a car and plan to come across the other direction... from your experience, are we going to be ok?
Yes it was actually remarkably easy in spite of us being nervous the first time. You should be just fine. They would let you know if there was a problem.
At low tide. They lower the ramp..
I figured but could not find that information on the website. I just did not want to be the new guy that got stuck on the loading ramp. :)
@@fullmoonadventureclub I totally understand, it's to be expected. I've seen many tall daggers come onto the boats. The ferry operators sometimes are slow to lower the ramp.. so It does happen.. thanks for the videos your put up.
I live in Washington ...spent most of my life in Seattle .. (currently in Spokane).
I agree the website sucks.
Though while you were driving towards the ferry there are signs that state "Ferry Line" on the side of the of the road.
Cones are used to help the workers remember which lane is to Go after the rest. In other words, if there was vehicles that couldn't get on the boat prior to your arrival ...they would load before you.
And you Did Not cross the ocean ...Puget Sound ..Yes. Though connected you crossed a sound.
Not trying to imply a sea voyage but I figured it was connected so I like the way it sounds. Thought it was like a bay but now I know it's called a sound. Thanks for sharing. Take care and happy camping. Jim
