You know, I go back and forth on this. I think there will always be very talented recording artists but I honestly think rock is dead. This is sadly supprted by the fact that far fewer teenage boys are picking up guitars. Its simply too much to ask the majority of kids now to dedicate that level of patience to learning a craft when they get instant gratification from the phone.

He was also nominated by the Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist. People used to wait new music videos by the favourite artists and bands in the 1980s and 1990s. Music videos on MTV made it possible to sell the same album for a longer time and it gave a good reason to release new singles from the album. Record sales were also far more bigger in the 1980s than today. Many artists were capable to sell over 10 million albums worldwide including rock bands.

It’s really no one else’s business what men and women chose to do to their own bodies. If you pay close attention, these comments are misogynistic and hardly ever directed toward the “male” species. I find it despicable that there was no fanfare when Robert passed away. No re-mastered albums. No DVD or blu ray re-release of Video Addictions. This particular video was the peak of the I Didn't Mean To Turn You On and Addicted To Love trilogy of videos; and a real treasure of, dare I say it, classy eroticism in his videos. His other videos are great, too. I really miss his eclectic albums.

Remembering Robert Palmer born on January 19, 1949. He was an English singer and songwriter. He was known for his powerful, soulful voice and sartorial elegance, and his stylistic explorations, combining soul, funk, jazz, rock, pop, reggae, and blues. Over his four-decade career, Palmer is perhaps best known for the song "Addicted to Love" and its accompanying video, which came to "epitomise the glamour and excesses of the 1980s". - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Palmer
