    Beautiful part of the world Steve, again enjoyed your production and now guitar tinkering very much. Shame about the weather aye. You made a Melbournian in the worlds longest lockdown very happy... and jealous. Wife and I are getting on the bike and coming up your way the moment we can. Cheers. Russ.

      Thanks Russell, hopefully the lockdown will end sooner rather than later and you will be able to get out and about yourself :-) It is a great area for bike touring/camping, the odd slow Landy on the road you'll have to watch out for!

    Spent my 20s/30s scuba diving up and down the coast getting to know all the locations in the video, and who hasn't had a great time in the Tathra pub. Diving the wharf used to be a great thing to do :-) Thanks for bringing the memories back to me.

    • @VintageRestorationsAustralia
      @VintageRestorationsAustralia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Luke, I have snorkeled the wharf, some very large Kingfish where cruising through, quiet the sight. You would be surprised at how unchanged the coast has managed to remain, it certainly is a watery wonderland, worthy of a return visit perhaps :-)

    • @VintageRestorationsAustralia
      @VintageRestorationsAustralia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Giday Erich, the water is bloody freezing still, it does not start to warm up until almost Christmas but then stays warm till the end of Autumn. It will warm enough to improve the fishing in the next month or so but still a bit cold for swimming (without a wet suite).

      I am lucky indeed, so glad you enjoyed it, it was a really lovely couple of days. That police car definitely looked like the 'last of the v8 interceptors' - I may have used some editing tricks to speed it up for comic effect :-)

    I'm only 4 min in and already require some counsel. The very chariot I'm attempting to restore comes with a hardtop cab like the magnificent wagon you are currently in command of. Would you recommend the setup you have or discard the hardtop for a full canvas back? I see advantages in having access to what's behind, eg camera equipment in the full hood but having never had the privilege's of captaining such a vehicle I have no idea of the best setup. Awaiting your advice. We've added you to our featured channels which is one of many tasks well overdue.

    • @VintageRestorationsAustralia
      @VintageRestorationsAustralia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah Mr Foreman, still many minutes to be enjoyed but as to your inquiry.... Is not your fine skin removal project a short arsed model (86") ? If so you have an overabundance of options to be negotiated with Wilms. Mine is a 109" which only ever came with the Cab/ ute tub/tray configuration. This fine wheelage was a tray top when I got him, but I reverted to a tub so as to furbish it with Canvas and Rope finery for the very purposes it is now being put. I remain unconvinced that a full canvas top is available for the Series 1 - 109/107. If your swear jar filler is in fact a shorter wheel base you have several options; cab roof, full canvas, part canvas, bikini top, topless, garters and suspenders etc etc. The hard top (s) are a bit more noisy compared to rag tops. Cab is tight for storage and easy rear access would be good. Cricket takes up considerably less real estate than my pack of 3 Kelpies but some separation between cab and dog breath (and butts) is beneficial... Not sure any of that is of assistance to you or further complicates the matter, but free consul is worth every penny you pay for it. I thank you for the add to your Featured Channels and for alerting me to such a feature, I will hunt it down and return the favor in the hope that huge increase in Adsense micro profits affords you a new Woolly Bugger or two.

      Vintage Restorations Australia indeed my wagon is a stumpy butt though an 88 inch variant, for those not well endowed every inch counts. Your follow up video was installing the lights on that very wagon so I released post comment it was a 107 or 109. Your informative response help me decide on what I was already thinking and that is discard the hardtop for canvas. I shouldn’t get too ahead of myself as a second wildfire is on the doorstep saying hello and a potentially explosive election around the corner. The old Landy might outlive me.

      Andres, I refilled on the way home but think I got about 15kms to the litre. I just ordered a gps speedo and will do a proper check when it arrives and let you know. It seems pretty good, my concern is it's a little tank.
