They can do some real dam good damage! just ignore the fact that it cannot leave your hand unless you kill something, and for as long as it is out, you are unable to talk, eat, and sleep. Just got to go and kill somebody! Also, congratulations, It will slowly mutate your body, in both positive (which You will get more of at the start cause I am the god of this story), and negative ways! Why not wield this weapon which fits your style of a prefect weapon!

I asked for a mutation roll as a joke, one of them took the bait with a dam good axe that did an extra 3d6 fire damage on the attack, with a 3+ on hit and attack. They rolled a crit fail. Reality broke a bit as i forced flight, 3 diffrent perks of expertise with one given forcfully onto intemadation with free proficency, and +6 to all stats. A bunch of demons poured out of a portal that opened nearby? and then the party fought them all, 17 in total. I then told their character through internal voices they nkw had a unholy task of murdering a king. I also gave them 4 free levels into wizard. The rest of the party then grabed on to a cursed weapon which seemed to be droped by those demons they slaughterd. Good game so far.

Once the Norse vikings discovered the Franks, they became very eager to trade with them for their higher quality iron (they had proper mines, unlike most of Scandinavia).

Is it specifically part of the creation process that they no longer need a constant supply of magic/warp to remain bound in the mortal world, or do they have to keep their hunger slaked in order to remain. I always wondered the same thing about possessed vehicles in 40k.
It's kind of like a prison you put the daemon into, and then the power of said warp entity bleeds out (preferably in a controlled manner) into some kind of beneficial aspect for the weapon. Genie in a lamp, but instead of wishes it sets your sword of fire.
Oh yes. I remembered there is a game called "soul sacrifice". a bitter blacksmith who is very good at creating high quality weapons less favored than blacksmiths who make beautifully ornate weapons. In massive respite, he creates a trident with massive amount of eyeballs with various size. A weapon never miss its enemy, strikes with fervor precision & lethality, at some point it has homing capability. Of course, he mutates and turn into a Cyclop with some eyeballs grow randomly on his body, because irony.
In Daemonslayer it is mentioned that the forces of chaos use the forges of ancient conquered dwarf cities far in the north like karak dum to produce massive amounts of weapons and armor.
The foolish samurai warrior meme comes to mind when you spend too much thought on a daemon wielding a daemon which is also a sword made by daemons and given to mortals who will also be possessed by daemons @_@

you had to give the op magic weapon and armor the vikings the chaos are based on had crap iron and had to get there swords from the carolingians also if there up against gun its gotta stop shot or you get a lot of dead raiders .

That bit about “significance” makes me wonder: what would happen if you tempered a sword in pigs blood, made with iron harvested from a forgotten mine, forged under the light of a gibbous moon, marked with runes that mean absolute gibberish, using a chisel tipped with a diamond bought at a secondhand store? Would the faulty forging process completely break the sword at first swing? Would the use of “unique” (blood, unique source of iron, moonlight, runes, diamond) materials maintain some level of power, even if closer inspection reveals the actual production details are unremarkable?
Soul Edge would more likely be a Daemon Weapon so powerful that it can exist outside the warp and outside the grip of a daemon prince. After all, the thing is possesed, can kill gods or similar threats, has several thousand souls killed by it or simply sucked into it, and has been around for millenia. Also, if I saw Nightmare in either 40K or in Fantasy, I'd just drop my gear and go find some wine to drink. I ain't dying in vain.
This just makes it seem like the Empire needs to import Norscan ore and materials. Maybe set up a mining/ refining outpost up there. Also, what happens if you say took a chaos/demon weapon with a demon in it and put it somewhere it'll never matter again? Like I dunno, throwing it into the maw.
Wouldn't it be possible to make a frame from warpstone and then have it be possessed by a Warp entity ? Like a Shaman King oversoul. Perhaps mixing the warpstone into the steel to be cast. It would be an exceptionally complex and perilous undertaking for any without the proper magical training, but eh, details.
It can but that’s the flaw or maybe the benefit of skaven engineering most of the stuff won’t last long enough for a daemon to fully take over the weapon and their tendency to get high on warp dust also make it harder for a stable connection with the thing
Wait, wait, wait. How long of a civil war? Thing is I was of the impression that Skaven had shorter lifespans than humans. In the rare cases they actually died of age I thought it was fifty or sixty. Seventy tops. Even Thanquol was a withered, old husk of a Skaven the last time he and Gotrek and Felix crossed paths in the slayer sagas. Perhaps Ikit could find a way to live far longer, but Morskittar as well? Other Skaven? That a centuries old civil war has the same Skaven leaders at both ends makes no sense.

Wouldn't those blacksmith's be hunted down seeing as how one warband with a chaos weapon wouldn't others to be given to their competition.

Think arch is going off liber chaotica era lore. Chaos dwarfs where still pretty squatted at that point. The hell cannon was yet to be released

In Daemonslayer it is mentioned that the forces of chaos use the forges of ancient conquered dwarf cities far in the north like karak dum to produce massive amounts of weapons and armor.

you had to give the op magic weapon and armor the vikings the chaos are based on had crap iron and had to get there swords from the carolingians also if there up against gun its gotta stop shot or you get a lot of dead raiders .

Love the video Arch and I got a question for you, do you think you could do a video on the video game Hardcore Mecha? A simple review is okay as is a proper walkthrough, I ask because I feel like you haven’t covered any good games in while so I’d thought I get it out there. That bit about “significance” makes me wonder: what would happen if you tempered a sword in pigs blood, made with iron harvested from a forgotten mine, forged under the light of a gibbous moon, marked with runes that mean absolute gibberish, using a chisel tipped with a diamond bought at a secondhand store?
Would the faulty forging process completely break the sword at first swing? Would the use of “unique” (blood, unique source of iron, moonlight, runes, diamond) materials maintain some level of power, even if closer inspection reveals the actual production details are unremarkable?

Soul Edge is just a Chaos weapon.
A world ending weapon in another universe is a slightly unique piece of kit for a bad guy in Warhammer Fantasy. Really puts it in perspective

Soul Edge would more likely be a Daemon Weapon so powerful that it can exist outside the warp and outside the grip of a daemon prince.
After all, the thing is possesed, can kill gods or similar threats, has several thousand souls killed by it or simply sucked into it, and has been around for millenia.
Also, if I saw Nightmare in either 40K or in Fantasy, I'd just drop my gear and go find some wine to drink. I ain't dying in vain.

Wouldn't it be possible to make a frame from warpstone and then have it be possessed by a Warp entity ? Like a Shaman King oversoul. Perhaps mixing the warpstone into the steel to be cast. It would be an exceptionally complex and perilous undertaking for any without the proper magical training, but eh, details.
It can but that’s the flaw or maybe the benefit of skaven engineering most of the stuff won’t last long enough for a daemon to fully take over the weapon and their tendency to get high on warp dust also make it harder for a stable connection with the thing

Wait, wait, wait. How long of a civil war? Thing is I was of the impression that Skaven had shorter lifespans than humans. In the rare cases they actually died of age I thought it was fifty or sixty. Seventy tops. Even Thanquol was a withered, old husk of a Skaven the last time he and Gotrek and Felix crossed paths in the slayer sagas. Perhaps Ikit could find a way to live far longer, but Morskittar as well? Other Skaven? That a centuries old civil war has the same Skaven leaders at both ends makes no sense.
