For such a close linear world, I find it a bit too expensive in terms of performance. New games are turning mid range GPUs into 1080p cards, but GPU prices still remain the same.
I think the game needs to be optimize, played the Demo on a GTX 1080TI with Max settings between 60-80 fps with some fps drops down to 45 fps
Anything below 3060 Ti is a 1080p card
maybe because it's just a demo? Don't need crazy optimization, just enough for playable experience since they have to deal with official release and polishing the actual end product.

@@zWORMzGaming I do have a quick question for you - was this the demo? Usually Capcom's RE demos have issues like this because they are typically an older less refined version of the game. If so, it might be worth it to re test once you get your hands on the full game! Maybe even a side by side comparison to see how much of a difference it is. Sorry if you mentioned in the video whether or not it was the demo, but I think it'd be worth it to give it another try with the full game!
I played the demo yesterday with my RX 570 8gb and Ryzen 5 5500 in native 1080p with a mix of high and max details and all options anabled. I reached around 35-45 fps and the experience was absolutely smooth and stable. No stuttering and no noticeable slowdowns. I guess that currently the game runs a bit better on AMD GPUs, especially at lower framerate.
Well, I don't how many games need to be released , RE4 remake, Wo-Long, Elden RIng at launch, etc. before people realize that Nvidia and the gimmicks are not alll they are cracked up to be. I still am amazed that people want a GPU and pay extra to have frames injected by an algorithm rather than actually produced by the GPU they are paying top dollar for. My favorite was "Nvidia crads don't do well @ 1080p becuase it not pushing the GPU enough" LMAO

For 1080p gaming its till best GPU... You can even max out the settings keeping textures in Medium ( due to VRAM only 6 GB) . I am playing almost all games with my RTX 2060 @ max settings except Textures in medium and I get 60+ fps ... Only game I struggled to run with my RTX 2060 is The Last of us Part 1... My RTX 2060 paired with i5 12400f and 32 GB DDR4 3600 MHZ

@@NPGJungler Yes.. of course 2060 Super is better in terms of performance and has good advantage of 8GB Vram with 256-bit GDDR6... Normal RTX has 192-bit GDDR6 and has only 6GB Vram

I've got a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz with a RTX 2060 SUPER 6B VRAM, and happens when I played the Chainsaw Demo (and other games like RDR2), some lights (blue, yellow, red, purple) appears on the screen, tinkle, and then disappears.
I don't know if its a GPU problem or what.

I think this is a prime example of optimisation. Doesn't matter what card you have, optimisation will define the experience. From this test, it seems that the cards in the 20 series era and below have been more favoured for performance.
All the cards stutter, regardless of settings. It happens every time the camera moves around a lot. Even RivaTuner couldn't completely alleviate the stutter on the 3060 when capped to 60. I never use the in-game fps cap because it still stutters anyways. This game needs a lot of work.
@@yeetus59 just got my Rx 6600 this week with 8gb VRAM and 8gb RAM. i have played well into chapter 10 and the stutter was mostly noticeable during early parts of the games especially the village and the church just after you get ashley. from my observation the games have awful frametimes and straight up freezes for a good 30 seconds but never crashed, my cpu should be more than enough but just below the recommended (ryzen 5 2600). From what i saw in this video is that Kryzzp has 16gb of RAM but the game never went above 7.6gb usage. I think the game still needs some polish for the stutter since i never had such problem with RE7 and RE8

Thanks Josh, I needed to see this, being a 1060 user myself, which had a good time with previous re games, there was always some way to make the game look pretty and keep the game above 45 fps. But why would you turn off resizable bar for this test ? I never turned it off.
The RE 2 and 3 remakes ran extremely well until the DX12 Ray Tracing updates. Even with all new settings disabled, the game ran significantly worse to the extent that Capcom had to raise the listed system requirements and released the old version of the games in the Steam beta section. I sort of expected similar performance to that with this game and it holds true, hopefully they do some work on the frame time issues. The ray tracing in these games is also relatively light weight so it may not be a bad idea to test ray tracing in this game.
DX12 games continue to run horribly for no reason. Same with Witcher 3 next gen
@Radek I thought the same thing when I tested that game. DX12 may have features like hardware ray tracing but it's honestly not worth the stability decrease from DX11 in most things. It's also worth noting that running RE2/3 and the Witcher next gen in DX11 mode still suffered major performance loss from the updates so I'm guessing developers keep breaking their games just to support features that most people will never bother turning on.

The frame time issues may be to do with the Denuvo implementation, it usually taxes specific CPU cores causing an instability in frametime particularly when using multiple cores to deliver a frame
Pretty certain it's exactly this. Hogwarts Legacy lost 20% of performance to Denuvo and ran like utter stuttery mess.
@@darkfalzx This is actually completely false. Having tested both the Steam version and the denuvo-less EMPRESS crack, there's no measurable difference when using the same patch and the same driver, The only performance differentials have been caused by internal patching from Portkey.
@@darkfalzx Nope, still spreading this false fact, Denuvo isn't removed it is just bypassed, the executable makes all the calls for it but they all pass "true" so the game can work but it's still active so it's still using cpu cycles

In my end, the VRAM counter that is actually displaying on the Video Settings this time around is somewhat accurate compared to any OSD reading I've used so far. Maxing out Shadows or going over the VRAM limit of what the game suggests causes the game to stutter on my end. Putting shadows to Mid/Low and Textures on High 1GB/0.5 makes the frame-time spikes almost eliminated (although some areas still have huge stutters, but it could be because of the area loading in, Digital Foundry has the same issue). This is on a GTX 1060, paired with Ryzen 3 3100, 16GB DDR4 @ 3200MHz, game is installed on an NVME SSD.
In short, avoid using High Textures (2GB) or higher and Shadow Settings anything higher than Mid for 6GB cards or just don't go to the VRAM limit of what the game suggests and absolutely avoid Hair Strand settings, as it saps a lot of VRAM with minimal visual increase.
As other state, it could be Denuvo doing a lot of checks, causing single thread bottleneck (this is not the fault of the CPU, but as a fault for it's optimization for its DRM.)
I can confirm that this game runs flawlessly on the 750 ti and a Celeron G1840 with low settings!

my brother actually has a rtx 2060 6 gigabyte model so this video was definitively helpful, when I tried this game on my system the textures where going insane, some looked nice and others looked super blurry, I don't know if it was my gpu but I don't think because the settings that I put only used 2 gigs and my card has 4 gigs
For RTX 2060 Keep texture at High 1 GB and Hair strands Off and rest of setting maxed out & FSR off, @ 1080p You will get solid 60+ FPS
Hey Kryzzp! Just commenting to let you know FSR destroys the image quality in this game, using the RE Engine checkerboarding works much better. To enable it, go to rendering mode and change it to "interlaced".
It doesn't look as good as native or DLSS, but it's much better than FSR. Um abraço do Brasil, mano!

kinda odd, im gaming with a 3060 and im getting like 70/80 sometimes on high settings with no fsr, but i havent messed with the hair thingy, and my cpu is kinda worse than yours, anyway another great video, liked!
For me Shadows on high instead of Max solve all the stuttering problems with a 3060, you can put other settings on max.. other than hair. Also as shown in this video you can lock the FPS for perfect experience, i locked it at 64fps
This game is very nostalgic remember playing that on my ps2 was scared as hell to fight regenerators 🤣 also kryzzp can you test fifa 23 it's a very demanding title now 🙏
Unfortunately I didn't have the game in the PS2 days, so I never really experienced it... That's probably why I wasn't looking forward to it very much lol.

I tested this game on a GTX 1080 laptop (Clevo P775DM3-G) on max settings 1080p resolution and it didn't run too well in my opinion, taking into consideration the optimization of previous games. That place near the window of that cabin with the godrays got me in the 40-50 FPS range. There is a stutter near the bear trap after you fight the two villagers outside and there is a huge stutter if you skip the intro cutscene. I hope the final product is more polished than the demo.

the beginning of this game is super intensive for some reason, but if you continue playing it you're going to see a big jump up in performance weather you're outside or not I think the beginning area is poorly optimised, it's also maybe because of the vegetation

The stuttering issue might be caused by the cards cause with my 6750xt max with raytracing at 2k res i don't have any stuttering problems.
Should I get an arc or a 3060??? The arc is almost $110 less.

We live in a time of often terribly optimized games with a lot of eyecandy for nothing and raytracing is the icing on this cake that eats all your frames for breakfast.

Terrain is tesellation basically. It adds more depth and variation to the terrain, and disabling it makes the terrain look flat

I've been using MSI AFTN but, I can't seem to get the avg, min FPS to display in any game I wanna see, in other words some display options just don't display... is there something I'm missing to enable or what?
The 2060 successor is the 3060Ti really , I see the 3060 as a 1660ti succesor.
The problem is that this demo version is very unoptimized. I played recently the RE7 and RE2 remake on my old Acer Nitro 5 laptop (i5 -8300h, GTX 1050 (3GB), 16 GB RAM) and the framerate was very smooth (50-70 fps) at 1080p medium/high settings without stuttering. However, RE4 DEMO was an unplayable mess at the same setting, so I lowered the resolution to 900p and put it to the low settings so that I could play it at 30-40 fps...

Hey Kryzzp,how you doing? Long time no see! I also dont understand why my game is stuck at 1366*768 resolution and not showing further resoultions,my laptop is of 1080p but with the help of AMD super Fx i turned it to 4k. Other games are just fine!!
Also a little idea might wanna try the RX6000 series in this game cause my experience was not that great at 1440p and RTX ON
my question is if capcom will make a last optimization to the game before releasing it and that's why the demo has so low FPS or directly it's a game with so new graphics that my 3060ti won't be able to pass 120fps stable as I did with 2remake, 3remake, 7 and 8 village?
I really don't understand the texture recommended vram. I watched a streamer that does speedruns and his first playthrough he had 12gb/8gb in his settings and his game and stream ran perfectly fine. Is there a quality difference in the different vram limits of the High settings?

one of the more intensive areas in re4 remake is after u rescue ashley and go to the village from over 70+ fps it goes to 30 fps with my gtx 1650

I tried the demo on my R5 3600 and RX6600 and i get hard crashes when i enable RTX i wonder if its the bad optimization or something else... If anyone else have the same problem tell me if you found any solution to this problem except of course disabling RTX Also the game with the Max Preset hardly hits 40fps most of the time and after a couple minutes it would just crash ..
I was getting some sort of skipping when playing on my 3080, my frame rate was very stable but that kept me from wanting to play more. It felt like it was skipping every time I moved the camera.

I think the actual game has better optimization than the demo as of now. I’m able to get around 20% more fps in the actual game compared to the demo on my 2060.

I don't know why, but in Horizon Zero Dawn the frametime gets worse when we use the inbuilt framelimit. When we limit using vsync, it gets smooth... I think there's a problem with the way as the API (vulkan or DX) is doing the framelimit function, Idk...
I’m hoping my 2070rtx super can play fine with Ray tracing. Also have an i7-9700k, little behind on current gen but I’ll upgrade at some point.
