I use something very similar.
It's a 2021 Samsung Galaxy Book Pro (4-core i7 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage) with an OLED screen of 15.6 inches diagonal. I really enjoy it. Bought it recently marked down from $974 to $324. It runs LMDE6 more beautifully than any of my Intel-based machines!!!
Taking YOUR advice, I "bought it nice" and don't have to "buy it twice.!"
I am wondering what the differences are between LG Gram Pro 17" (integrated graphics) with LG Gram 17" (available at Costco). One difference I see is lower price and touchscreen for non-pro version. However, not sure what the other difference are that would make LG sell the Pro version at higher price.
That screen wobble when it's next to you would drive me nuts. Was one of the reasons why I didn't choose the LG Gram previously. (Went with the Microsoft Surface Laptop.)

Thanks for the review! That is a very appealing laptop, and I've never had a problem with LG products. I'll be retiring soon and I want to replace my wife's Windows laptop while we still have the cash flow. I think she'd be very happy with this.

thanks for the overview . Are you planning to do a full review ? I'm sure I'm not the only one curious about the detailed capability of this machine in video editing : how long and how complicated timeline this laptop can handle , type of effects and color grading it can support , exporting times , autonomy and thermals in editing sessions .. it would be very helpful because unfortunately there is not that much informations about this product on TH-cam .

Nice looking laptop for sure with decent specs, might be a bit light for heavy video editing. Do you use a laptop to edit videos, and would you recommend dual internal hard drives? Seems to be less common to be multiple drive capable... Coming from an Alienware and looking to upgrade.
Personally I end up using external drives because I run out of internal space (regardless of whether I update). A fast external drive works great for me even with 4K footage.
I typically edit on my desktop though th-cam.com/video/QEtONK3ujSE/w-d-xo.html when possible
Because of that, these are way too expensive and sell poorly in the UK. In fact, LG has yet to release the current 2024 Intel variants, and with the 2025 Intel arriving in September (maybe), I suspect they won't bother. They are still selling the 13th gen at ridiculous prices that defy logic, and although I understand this is a sponsored video, I would not recommend an LG on the grounds of value in the UK.

I use Premiere Pro - with an external drive - and was able to. I would need to test Davinci but would expect it to work.
Only 17” model has a keyboard with full keypad. Unfortunately this one is castrated for some strange reason.
I wish it had a properly aligned keyboard without num pad

I'm looking for a laptop just like this; super lightweight, very powerful processor, large screen. But its just way too expensive. I think a fair price for this laptop would be $850. And I would absolutely buy it for that price.

If all you're doing is office, web based work, and a little video/photo editing. I do like the MB Air 15. I've had the LG Gram (returned because of the wobbly screen and atrocious thermals) and for day to day, I really like the MB more. I now have a Dell XPS 15 for my work PC. It's really nice and has good thermals, but less than half the battery life.
Although if you do video editing, the fanless nature of the MB Air does hinder it. Render times slow down considerably after a few minutes.
