Venti and Zhongli were hilarious to see. They were just poking at each other and Xiao was there just barely holding it together as Barbatos and Rex Lapis were just doing their usual dynamic. I really wish Venti and Ei interacted at the light novel festival in Inazuma. The hilarity that would ensue would be legendary.

This quest is such a love letter to previous events with many cool callbacks to event like the first and second lantern rite, the moonchase festival, the irodori festival, the wine festival, and the liyue archon quests including the one with shenhe and the chasm one. I love that the world of teyvat feels more interconected than ever, it feels like there's a real continuity to the events in the game, sucks for new players tho
Paimon's separation anxiety is showing. Its interesting to see her character develop as time goes on, too. In the beginning of the story, she felt like some sort of NPC that's only there to provide tutorials. Now, she feels like a best friend. She does have her annoying moments sometimes, but I still love her a lot. Hopefully we get to know more about her this year
The funny thing also, the adeptus trial that give a chest is not done, because that trigger dissappear after is done.. so technically speaking there is 2 chest waiting on that scene.
Considering how it is right in the middle of an open field/ocean you probably got it already. I saw it long ago and just grabbed it like I always do. xD
I really love the bit of subtle storytelling at the start of the quest. Remember how weird and contrived Dvorak's meeting with the traveler seems, with him not even knowing what the heck is going on and just following random Mondstadt wisdom? The game never actually tells you what happened there, but provided enough clues that it can all be pieced together: 1) Dvorak offered plenty of expensive wine at Venti's statue of the seven. 2) Dvorak mentions the wind guiding him there, which means Venti had a hand in it. In the epilogue, Venti also implies that he knows about the Iridescence Tour despite supposedly just arriving in Liyue. 3) Zhongli is super-insistent on the Traveler going to that specific place to get those specific bamboo shoots, even manipulating Paimon to do it. 4) Venti and Zhongli's banter implies that Zhongli knows when Venti's winds are blowing in Liyue at any time. So, what actually happened behind the scenes was: Dvorak prayed at Venti's statue of the seven and offered a ton of wine. Seeing the wine offering, Venti - the drunk archon that he is - decided to help him and used his winds to guide him to Mondstadt. Zhongli immediately realized this, and use the bamboo shoots as an excuse to get the traveler to deal with the problem, since he's incognito and would have trouble handling it himself without revealing who he is. It's such an insignificant piece of the overall story, but I really love how subtle they made all of this and trusted the player to piece everything together.
I thought the winds were guiding him *from* Mondstadt towards the stone gate that lead into Liyue? Since he was already in Mond to offer to those statues before showing up near Qingce village.

Buoya was good at playing the guzheng, and Ziqi was good at listening the sound of guzheng. When Buoya played the guzheng while thinking about mountains, Ziqi felt the majestic mountains from the sound of music; when Buoya played the guzheng thinking about flowing water, Ziqi felt the vast rivers. After Ziqi's death, Buoya never played the guzheng again, because he knew that no one could understand his music like Ziqi.

Venti and Zhongli don't even really "hate" each other 😭 Why else would Zhongli's character story 5 have him saying shit like "The wind would never return again" or him going "Your music is unmatched throughout the land. (affectionate) instead of being actively "angry" with each other.
Yeah it’s definitely playful banter. I in no way believe they actually dislike each other. It actually went over my head that they may have been ribbing each other because I thought they were just being overly complementary to hide who they were.

I really liked paimon in the beginning and now she's really fun and goofy to listen sometimes and I find it cute and funny I don't know why some players or streamers find her annoying or unlikeable edit:paimon is the most distinguished guest since she is passively floating

As a bit of an other languages diff, Yaoyao refers to herself by name, in the third person, in japanese, which is much cuter. Also, because of the limits of translation, the rhymes Hu Tao spits out in the eastern languages sound a lot more neat, punchy, and put together than in english. It's not bad in our language, but it's just better enough in the other languages to mention. This was my first experience with Lantern Rite, so I don't have a standard for these, but as a dude who picked the game up at launch, I'm just upset that I missed out on it twice. Thanks for being based bwaap, it made catching up on all your content kinda worthwhile.

I started playing Genshin Impact in November 22, so this year's Lantern Rite event was my first one. Almost missed it because of the huge amount of quests your supposed to do beforehand (only managed to do "The crane returns on the wind"in time). I'm so glad that those quests weren't mandatory. This lantern rite event quest... was one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a while! At the end of Act 2, I simply couldn't stop crying - It was just that beautiful (there were some personal rasons involved as well...). I really hope that someday there will be an option to play event quests of the past because newer players definetely should also be able to enjoy events such as this one.
Chinese New Year with genshin is always a treat, i really enjoyed this year's lantern rite festivities alot and the performance at the end wasn't half bad! I think hu tao in english performed wll but hey everyone can have their own opinions :p
i really loved the interaction with zhongli and venti, i didn't get to experience the last lantern rite but with this as a first impression, i can't wait next year! also poor xiao

I think it's because a lot of fans believed that Ningguang was something like the reincarnation of Guizhong, or just conflated the two since Ningguang is the most prominent female geo character and a catalyst user

For someone who says they don't like the city, Cloud Retainer sure comes to the city a lot for like...the tiniest of things lmao We never see Moon Carver and Mountain Shaper but Cloud Retainer is always showing up in Liyue Harbor.
Lantern rite was honestly fun this year, probably one of the facts that made it fun was the mini-games, all of them were enjoyable, and none of them seemed like they would be stressful in any capacity. Another reason why I honestly enjoyed Lantern Rite because this was my first. Couldn't join the first since I joined around Windblume, couldn't join the second due to a broken computer screen, but this year I had so much fun with the events, even managed to pull Alhaitham during the event time. Probably the most important reason to enjoy this event, is the story. Gotta say MiHoYo always has some good stories, some of the Archon Quests could be considered examples. Inazuma's was alright, but most will agree that something was kind of off about it, Sumeru's is pretty good, feels like they took their time with it. This Lantern Rites story, feels amazing, honestly love the story that is told. So I'm glad I got to enjoy what so many others got to in the past 2 years. With a heart of gold I say, happy lantern rite everybody.

As a band kid/flutist, this lantern rite's theme being music was just so nice for me. My band-genshin friends all gathered together to do the quest together, and we loved it! It also helped cheer me up when I couldn't make it into all-state band a few weeks ago. Maybe next year I'll make it in ^^ also, Marco Meatball voicing Dvorak was a pleasant surprise- hoyo is really thoughtful and good at their job :))

The climax of the music part of the story almost had me, it was so very satisfying seeing Dvorak have an answer to his family's long passed down tale and for Cloud Retainer and Madame Ping be able to reconnect, the entire halting of the performance to stop and appreciate the echoes of Madame Ping contributing to it as if handing off the baton. But... the fact that Dvorak's conducting doesn't line up with the audio kills me xD;;
yess I was waiting for this! This year lantern rite is so much fun, all while learning a new lore and saw guizhong, it's making me laugh seeing everyone at that dinner table interacting and bickering😂

Yeah it’s definitely playful banter. I in no way believe they actually dislike each other. It actually went over my head that they may have been ribbing each other because I thought they were just being overly complementary to hide who they were.

I feel like that Paimon is afraid for traveler to leave her alone because last time he did he was missing for weeks.
I imagine this fear of abandonment started in Enkanomiya, after Enjou accusing Paimon of intending to betray the Traveller. She must have thought: "Surely they don't believe that slimy Abyss guy? That Paimon would leave them? They don't, right? Right?"

As a bit of an other languages diff, Yaoyao refers to herself by name, in the third person, in japanese, which is much cuter. Also, because of the limits of translation, the rhymes Hu Tao spits out in the eastern languages sound a lot more neat, punchy, and put together than in english. It's not bad in our language, but it's just better enough in the other languages to mention. This was my first experience with Lantern Rite, so I don't have a standard for these, but as a dude who picked the game up at launch, I'm just upset that I missed out on it twice. Thanks for being based bwaap, it made catching up on all your content kinda worthwhile.

I started playing Genshin Impact in November 22, so this year's Lantern Rite event was my first one.
Almost missed it because of the huge amount of quests your supposed to do beforehand (only managed to do "The crane returns on the wind"in time).
I'm so glad that those quests weren't mandatory.
This lantern rite event quest... was one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a while!
At the end of Act 2, I simply couldn't stop crying - It was just that beautiful (there were some personal rasons involved as well...).
I really hope that someday there will be an option to play event quests of the past because newer players definetely should also be able to enjoy events such as this one.
Luckily people post no commentary playthroughs of these events so newbies can enjoy it, and i can rewatch lol
Chinese New Year with genshin is always a treat, i really enjoyed this year's lantern rite festivities alot and the performance at the end wasn't half bad! I think hu tao in english performed wll but hey everyone can have their own opinions :p

Lantern rite was honestly fun this year, probably one of the facts that made it fun was the mini-games, all of them were enjoyable, and none of them seemed like they would be stressful in any capacity. Another reason why I honestly enjoyed Lantern Rite because this was my first. Couldn't join the first since I joined around Windblume, couldn't join the second due to a broken computer screen, but this year I had so much fun with the events, even managed to pull Alhaitham during the event time. Probably the most important reason to enjoy this event, is the story. Gotta say MiHoYo always has some good stories, some of the Archon Quests could be considered examples. Inazuma's was alright, but most will agree that something was kind of off about it, Sumeru's is pretty good, feels like they took their time with it. This Lantern Rites story, feels amazing, honestly love the story that is told. So I'm glad I got to enjoy what so many others got to in the past 2 years. With a heart of gold I say, happy lantern rite everybody.

As a band kid/flutist, this lantern rite's theme being music was just so nice for me. My band-genshin friends all gathered together to do the quest together, and we loved it!
It also helped cheer me up when I couldn't make it into all-state band a few weeks ago. Maybe next year I'll make it in ^^

The climax of the music part of the story almost had me, it was so very satisfying seeing Dvorak have an answer to his family's long passed down tale and for Cloud Retainer and Madame Ping be able to reconnect, the entire halting of the performance to stop and appreciate the echoes of Madame Ping contributing to it as if handing off the baton. But... the fact that Dvorak's conducting doesn't line up with the audio kills me xD;;
yess I was waiting for this! This year lantern rite is so much fun, all while learning a new lore and saw guizhong, it's making me laugh seeing everyone at that dinner table interacting and bickering😂
