the video is longer this time cuz i didn't like how it suddenly cut off the archon quest and went into ayaka's story quest

Everyone is saying it's a date between traveller and Ayaka but it's much more than that. The traveller will continue the journey to find the sibling and Inazuma is just one temporary part of the journey and Ayaka knows that traveller will not stay for her. After all, the traveller and Ayaka are from different worlds and they cross their path in life for a short period of time and eventually, they will move on and go separately after the Archon quests in Inazuma ends. Having said that, Ayaka believes this is a perfect opportunity for her to show the traveller her true self and performed the farewell dance to mark the memory not to be forgotten.
I've read that in twitter few hours ago, It's really sad tbh.
The ending scene was nice, but the story quest really was a date lol your comment changes nothing

"I initially thought the whole Ayaka quest was just pandering to waifu stuff and sell gacha, but then I came across an interesting analysis on some Chinese forums which gives an alternate interpretation of the story that I really enjoyed. So I just want to share it here.
It is obvious that Ayaka had some kind of crush on Traveler, but then there's more to it. The key scene is the Prayer Plaques, Ayaka wishes for a peaceful and happy Inazuma, while Traveler is apparently only concerned with reuniting with his/her sibling. That is the point when it is shown to us (although still subtle) that Ayaka and Traveler are not meant to be together, and Ayaka realized it.
After that, it's the scene where Ayaka gives us that farewell dance. "Please, keep your eyes on me" because she knows one day Traveler will leave her and Inazuma and continue on his/her own path and wish the Traveler to remember her. Then she literally said, "I can see myself the rest of the way back." That scene was for their final farewell, and then we see they continued on their own paths.
The whole story was executed as if Ayaka and Traveler are having a date, but then once you get those hidden messages you realize it's just another one of those depressive Inazuma stories. I love it now."

I do agree with you on them adding more outfits though, and hopefully some clothes for the Traveler in the much later chapters, even some minor changes would be cool imo.
This quest shot Ayaka to the top of my character list, I swear by the time it ended all I could say is "I think I'm in love"

Bro. This quest gave my heart purpose, melted it, froze it, broke it, and destroyed it. Ayaka's realization that traveler is on a path that is separated from her's was heart breaking. I loved this story quest. Its a sad tale of two souls meeting in a small part of their journeys.

Well to be fair she knew him only for a few days less than a month for sure. I don't think it was a meeting of souls or something. Just a harmless crush or platonic. Aether certainly does not think that way,they are just friends in his mind.

The whole lesson I got from Ayaka's quest was "While we may not realize it, our loved ones have seperate lives from us. They have dreams, aspirations, and they have personal pains like all of us."
And honestly that realization broke me

I mean it kinda is. It just changes direction after after the prayer plaque and what Ayaka has to say about siblings in the forest. At that point she realizes that there is no keeping the traveler in Inazuma nor would she feel right doing so.
The traveler's/our whole reason for this journey is our sibling and our journey won't end in Inazuma. At that point whether planned or by spur of the moment she's gives us the dance to mark the occasion and make it a memory the traveler won't soon forget.

Many thought of this as a sad "farewell" dance, but in reality Ayaka is just scared to lose one of her only friends, she took him out on a date and noticed that he must keep on going; she is just afraid to forever lose him, just like he is afraid to lose his sister and not find her.

i legit cried when i saw the traveler's little drawing of them reuniting with their sibling, it was so cute and it just hit me so much in my feels, like imagine your only remaining kin in the whole entire world be separated from u when you're both so used to being together all the time. first story quest of inazuma and we're already hitting the waterworks. 10/10 update.

For me, Ayaka does not hold romantic feelings for the traveler. Rather, it is more of the ecstasy of finally making a friend after longing to have one. Maybe that is why she subtly express her reluctance for the traveler's leave, because her friend will be distant once more and they could not make memories of friendship so often.
But, I like the "liking the mc" idea especially that I use Lumine hahaha.

This story quest. This damn story quest made me, for the first time ever, cry over a video game. I’m truly unable to find the words to express the feelings i had playing this. It was so damn beautiful i had to come here, rewatch it, then proceed to cry once again

There are two things that I felt emotional in the quest
1.Ayaka's dance
2.Aether humming in the end of the quest😭
that last scene was such an amazing work of cinematography tbh, the way mihoyo made use of the silence of the night and the subtle humming makes me feel really emotional

While we don’t know her age, Ayaka has the body type the game is giving to teen, and Thoma the body type the game is giving to adults, so imma infer this is what they both are. Therefore, Thoma absolutely SHOULD be in the friendzone regarding Ayaka. Also probably what Ayaka is missing, friends that are her age (as far as she’s concerned, the traveler is her age). Thoma is nice, but Thoma is a grown adult.

I loved this quest, and I love Ayaka. The majority of the "younger women" characters in Genshin are too bubbly and outgoing for me, so getting one that's calm and a little withdrawn, along with this beautiful quest, really was a delight. The ending especially made me love Ayaka a lot

That part when Aether made the prayer card I actually cried. Especially since I have a close relationship with my sister, I understand how Aether feels a bit. I don't know what I would do if I lost my sister. The game made me finally cry since I first started playing. I really hope this game ends with Aether and Lumine together and living in Teyvat.

I don't think they will live in Teyvat. Sure they bonded with a lot of people here but, i'm sure people from Teyvat are not the first ones they bonded with and probably bonded with other people from other worlds as well. They are probably used to leave the people they bonded by now.
Even if we as players feel sad when leaving Teyvat, i don't think Aether or Lumine will care. And Ayaka realised that. That's why she suddenly decided to dance like that and made a nice memory with the traveler cause she knows traveler won't stay in Teyvat let alone in Inazuma.
The Shining Stars It'd be a more cliche ending if they both stayed and lived in Teyvat at the end of their journey but the more realistic ending would be that they travel to other worlds and leave Teyvat. Their whole life before getting trapped in Teyvat was to jump from world to world and explore each one. Lumine (or the twin that you didn't pick) says in the We Will Be Reunited quest that they have already explored the whole world once and that for the other twin to reach the end of their journey they would have to do the same. It would make much more sense once they get fully reunited that they go on to other worlds.
I feel the same way, no matter how much people say it's realistic for them to leave and keep on traveling, or other scenarios, wouldn't it be as possible a choice for them to decide this is the place they were searching for all along, or the place they want to stop at and end their travels? The place they fought for the most, or bonded with the most, something along those lines?
Depending though, we don't know what the whole story is and some people have that Project Ark theory going, but I still would love to see such a gentle ending, where they are only left with a good and kind world, and all this struggle stops, and the Travelers finally get their happy ending.
That scene also reminded me again of how sad this whole journey can beand how close the two have been.
People will keep on contradicting me though. I don't care about the actual story, this is just my personal opinion and wish. There might be a lot of aspects to take into consideration but I can have my dreams, regardelss of all that and why "it can't happen". I am kinda tired of seeing some person immediately shooting me down just because "that's not how the story is going to be and let me tell you why".
But I have this wish and I'll keep hoping. Cheers to all.
some people speculate that the twins were originally from teyvat, and were sent to other worlds to either 1. grow from experience or 2. escape from something equivalent to the fall of khaenri'ah. I don't remember the specifics of the theory but I think at some point we're referred to as the heir of something. either way, that would be the only way that them staying in teyvat makes sense to me.

Can we just talk about how the travelers attitude at the beginning of 2.0 has changed a bit, like they had 0 trust and didn’t want to help anyone in the first place because that’s all they’ve done is help. Tbh if you really think about it the traveler just gets pulled into these situations because no one is really genuinely wanted to help them find their sibling or capture them. They always have to do something for someone else and in the end they don’t even really end up helping. (Yes ik the posters are there but they don’t do $h!t) like we’ve defeated a dragon, an angry octopus god thing, and helped out with the fatui…and so much more… but in the end the traveler has responsibility’s and others problems pushed onto them without a choice. I’m actually kind of hoping the the travelers character changes more and more this way throughout the story to realize that sometimes you can’t solve everyone’s problems and that you need to focus on yourself sometimes and be a little selfish. But we’ll see what Mihoyo has signed up for us in the future~

it was implied that he had his ways of avoiding being captured by the Commissions when it comes to visions. But just went and got caught. Ruining the traveler's Chances of having a peaceful talk with Raiden. Plus in the cutscenes of the story quest. He holds a vision thats apparently made in Inazuma even though he was a Foreigner before becoming Ayaka's (servant) friend. He just reeks of fatui involvement

I can’t help but remember in times like these that Ayaka’s affection for the traveler is framed very romantically; however, the main goal of the journey is to reunite with your sibling.
Ayaka’s vision is Cryo, and considering how the Tsaritsa is the Archon of Love, there is a distinct relationship between her denomination over “Love” and those who receive Cryo visions. Cryo wielders seem to be isolated for one reason or another, craving a mutual relationship. For example, both Eula and Ayaka are among the higher classes, Eula belonging to the Lawrence Clan and Ayaka to the Kamisato Clan. However, their status isolates them from the general public, interfering with their ability to make friends in a meaningful way. This leads them to crave someone to love and love them, in either a romantic or platonic way. Diona wants the love of her father unimpeded by his unhealthy alcoholism. Rosaria keeps herself separate from her fellow sisters.
Ayaka wants a friend, and her feelings towards the Traveler are confused between a friendship and romantic relationship. However, I think it’s important to think about her story quest in a slightly tragic light.
Her desire for a friend conflicts with the Traveler’s desire to see their sibling. She wants the Traveler as a friend, perhaps dearer as a lover, but the Traveler makes it clear that their goal is not to remain stagnant for long in one place. When she realizes that the Traveler cannot reciprocate her feelings, she wants to at least remain a memory on your journey, so she dances for you. She goes to a festival with you, if only to take the only chance she is given.
No matter who the player is, the Traveler is a separate entity. In Inazuma, nowhere else is as clear and upfront about the Traveler having what is perhaps an unexpected mind of their own. They want to see their sibling. Everyone they meet is simply only keeping them separate from their sibling, and are only holding them back. Remember that we are fresh from seeing our sibling again for what could potentially have been centuries. The one thing on the Traveler’s mind is their sibling, and everything they do nearly serves this goal or delays it temporarily. In this way, everyone you meet is fleeting, but potentially precious.
Your explanation reminds me of Ganyu’s quest a lot. The fact that she feels lonely in both the human world and the realm of the adepti. Ahhhh, I’m waiting for her rerun 😩

Chongyun, on the other hand, feels bad for him, as well as Rosaria. He actually yearn to become a legendary exorcist/ help people/ prove their exorcist lineage and yet he can't stand higher temperature while having the yang body that auto repels spirits. Ergo, what's he gonna with his entity.
I don't know how to explain it, but there was something so special about Ayaka's quest. I wasn't particularly attached to her at first and was planning to skip her, but this quest is what changed my mind. That scene with the prayer plaques made me cry, and all the time she spent with the Traveller forming a genuine connection, and they way the Traveller was humming her song at the end.. it just brought me so much comfort. It was amazing.

Now that I finished Ayaka’s story, I’m happy to report that I cried in three separate occasions during the quest & was an emotional wreck throughout the rest of the day (didn’t help it was midnight as well)
The character quests just get more wholesome as the game continues... I love it ☺️

I fell in love with her
so i tossed a ten roll
and i got her
I don't cry that much, but bruh when they showed their plaques I cried, the feeling of being separated of your sibling or any family hurt and I can relate very well, we see Traveler being good helper for others, happy and stuff, but we rarely see how is the Traveler feeling, being separated for that long, without knowing if your sibling is alive or not, just to find out that your sibling is the one who is behind the whole Abyss, imagine all the rollercoaster of emotions the Traveler feels, imagine the pain, being able to fight against a Dragon, a Ancient God, a Fatui Harbinger, a Archon and now fight in a war, and still going through this much on your head, Traveler is strong both physically and mentally that's for sure, that's why I think Traveler is the best character, I can't wait for them to be reunited
