My son was excited when he bought a banjo. He played the heck out of it, then it got old and he doesn't play it at all. He plays his guitars every day. Nice set up.
That intro was on point!
Great! I've been wanting more guidance on how to set up my banjo. Mine is definitely cheap. I paid $100 for it brand new in 1974. One day, I lifted it out of the case, and the resonator stayed behind (It's only held on with our screws) , so I learned to play open back as well. Easier to muffle it with a towel for indoor play too.
another great video. I recently bought a cheap guitar and your videos on making cheap instruments play and sound better came in really handy.
Great video .. coincidentally a friend of mine just dropped off a banjo for me to try and set up and i have no clue ....., This was great information ,
Nice job! That has a great sound to it after your setup.
According to Google Shopping, the Flint Hill FHB-55 is no longer produced and is valued between $250 and $400.
Don't sell your self short, you did good.
Possibly a silly question, but if you tightened the adjusting rod without loosening the heel bolt would it have maybe tilted the side a bit to correct the neck angle without creating the gap between the neck and side that you had to fill? Or would it have possibly broken? Thanks for the great videos.
What type of music do you listen to while you work on the instruments.
Well, now you have fixed it, so I guess you have to learn to play it ! Have a fun day
I can get the damn back on
I just got one of these banjos, there isn't any identifying marks that tell me which one it is, but there isn't a screw (not sure thats what its called) to attach the back part on, and there isn't a cover plate on the headstick. Do you know where I can buy those? Thanks in advance! The video was great! So just to be clear - the fretboard and the body shouldn't be "straight" but at a slight angle? Thank you!!!
You should try saying inexpensive instead of cheap. It just sounds better. Especially to the owner, who may watch this..just sayin'.
Yes he should, but it is a Mills Guitars instrument.
That’s a $400 banjo, I wouldn’t consider that cheap.
