I flew on United but way back in 1993, on a 747 of all planes., good thing about it i was well looked after in economy by the flight crew & the food was damned good !.
Coach is a younger man’s game. I did it all the time traveling to Japan and Europe when I was active-duty Navy. There is no way in hell I would do it now at 63. I’m headed from Baltimore to Sydney next week, Business Class all the way…….. 20 hours of flying time with an additional 2 1/2 hour layover in Dallas. If airlines made seats reasonable with 18 inch width seats and 34 inch pitch. It might be tolerable. Safe travels.
Nice trip report, and yeah, I truly hate airlines locking the windows on their 787s for the entire flight! I hope Boeing (and Airbus) consider not allowing for windows to be locked at the dim position, and only allow them to be locked at the brightest settings for takeoffs and landings! Its quite an inconvenience, and makes us miss the best views outside, ESPECIALLY when flying over the North Pole!!

i agree the portion size is too small but disgusting is a huge overstatement. the food itself looks fine? edit: ok yeah there's no saving that breakfast lol
Perhaps a matter of taste, I don’t find boiled chicken with bland potatoes and veggies appealing at all. They are so cheap they only offer you one disgusting egg option for breakfast. Other airlines will offer you at least 2 or even 2 options.
calling a tim tam a candy bar. i am shocked. i am speechless. i am without speech. sacrilege. 😂
Qantas's Melbourne to LA or vice versa, that route is sometimes operated by the A380 on Monday and Saturday
Awesome review!
Glad you enjoyed it

I'd love to visit Melbourne. I've never left North America. I'm also in AZ (Mesa).

Pre Covid United used to serve a cup of ice cream after the meal for dessert, but I guess that got dropped due to cut backs.
Did they have self-served snacks by the galley?
Last year ; I took United to Australia . They did have self served snacks
Hello, nice trip report. Would you fly Delta's A330neo (economy or Delta one) or American's 787-9 in Business class?
I have already filmed a video on American’s Dreamliner in Business Class, I will be posting the review soon!
@@GlobalAviationTravel okay, also which American Aircraft you've flown you like more?
Great video. How was the customer service, food and seat comfort from one to ten? Did you check in a bag

I have a difficult time with preference between the 787 and A~350. Both roomy and comfortable. Even in tourist class.
The A350 is wider for the same number of seats per row. More room. It's also quieter. I'm surprised you didn't notice these differences.
Personally I much prefer the A350!
7:39 Which Star Alliance B777 was that? What airline?
Thai airways
@@GlobalAviationTravelIt's actually Singapore airlines. Had to go frame by frame to double check 😂
@@TheAsian0069 yeah its actually the singapore 777-300er
How many hours did you sleep on the plane, does it have wife and how's passport control for entering and returning back to the US, is it efficient?
4:16 Shrek moment!
That's an exclusively Aussie food selection. Amost exactly what you'd get on a Qantas flight. I hope you Americans like sausages and Tim Tams.
Americans also mostly eat sausage on breakfast
@@NotYanisYanis So how come we call you "Waffle Chompers?"
no metal cutlery ? food looks so bad . United should study Cathay or Singapore airline meal option .
Try Qatar airlines my favorite 🎉

The terminal at MEL doesn't look like it's had a major remodeling since it opened in 1970, very dated.
for a major international airport it is terribly ordinary. the whole thing needs a major renovation.

Food looks disgusting and super tiny portions
I was about to go there. Given that they compete with the Asian carriers on trans-Pacific service, that skimpy food service isn't going to cut it.

The worst of all the American carriers 🤮
So then who is the best of American carriers?.
@@stevene465 - Frontier is "the worst of all American carriers", but obviously they don't fly widebodies.
Food in economy class is worse than cattle class.
Economy class is treated very badly by almost all Airlines
Cattle class is economy class! LOL
What a waste of time reviewing economy 🤣
That's where the vast majority of people fly.
not a waste of time at all. i've always wondered what the service on this route was like in economy and now i have an idea of what to expect.
