I found a very cheddar cheese combo with the sub-weapons, which mabye should be toned down a little. You can buff yourself with the demon mode and since it carries over character switching it can buff other character's attacks, then freeze a boss with the freezing arrow, then break the ice with the battle-axe and since the attack that breaks the ice does extra damage you can practically one-shot bosses with this combo.
Watching this after Vinny played the demo of the 3d one. Noticed that the last level (boat) has the same song as the first level (also boat) of the 3d one. Nice touch.
Edgelords as they are, i really like Zangetsu and Gebel... Am i mistaken on Zangy being one of the planned playable extras? I really hope for a "Gebel Mode" though, especially if it has story beats. I so totally expect him to be an anti-villain, and for the real big bad to not have been revealed yet. Especially with Bloodstained being pretty much Order of Ecclesia 2, hahaha.
Zangetsu is the second boss in Ritual of the Night, and probably has subsequent encounters after the first. He's probably got a mode to himself, similar to Stella and Loretta in Portrait of Ruin's Sisters mode.
I wonder why there is this fascination with Castlevania III. It went from being sort of obscure and not a lot of people talking about it compared to the original, Simon's Quest, and IV. To being the basis for the Castlevania Netflix series, and the inspiration for this.

Because it's a good ass game with a lot of great ideas in it. Multiple characters w/character switching, multiple paths to the end, very distinct levels, etc. The original's great, but 3 managed to step it up in every regard (not withstanding the US difficulty changes that make it a more infuriating play). Personally, I'm glad it's getting recognized so much.
Dracula's Curse has always been highly regarded more so then the original ask most older fans they will tell you that it's there all time fav or one of them at least. I think it's only claim to obscurity is simply that new kids did'nt play it since it was an NES game and as such there was never much reason to talk about it.

Ritual of the Night is not being developed by Inti Creates, DICO and Artplay are developing it. Comcept was primarily the developer of Mighty, not Inti.

Yeah, I mean it's like what I did for a hat in time and Yooka laylee. I had a much better experience in both games not spoiling it for myself. I mean I still love yooka laylee. So I was kinda worried when I saw this because I was like "Wait I didn't think this was gonna be NES styled.." I mean if you like that it's fine, but the style being forced on a game doesn't do it for me..plus that jumping is just unappealing.
There's something about the level design in this that seems a little off. It's a very beautiful game and the new setting and designs are cool, but it just doesn't feel as good to make your way through it. Maybe I haven't played enough.

This is actually really good and I love the style of pixel art it uses, I may have been a bit too harsh. If the gameplay is not too reliant on being purposefully archaic (not that all modern innovations in gameplay are good) It is completely fine by my book.
