@eow4317 Also unicorn hair, something he has struggled before in the past. She brought it back when he didn't expect it and his plan failed. She literally helped protect her family from Bill. If she wasn't tricked she literally would have never done it.
not to mention Stan and Ford do something much worse later on when they let their pettiness get in the way of using the ritual to banish Bill Cipher. These are grown adult men and they couldn't even hold hands for five seconds without being a jerk to each other
i will never get over ford explicitly telling dipper not to tell mabel about the rift like bro STOP PROJECTING YOUR COMPLICATED SIBLING RELATIONSHIP WITH STAN ONTO THESE 12 YEAR OLDS
Like honestly, Ford projects hard onto Dipper, he probably though perhaps subconsciously sees Mabel as someone who will hold Dipper back, like how he viewed Stanley, that at some point Mabel will ruin Dipper's chance at greatness, which obviously is total nonsense, again it's probably subconscious as Ford doesn't dislike Mabel or anything but still he can't help but see her as someone who will hold Dipper back.
@@nathanblackburn1193 Ford is such an ass ngl😂😂 he literally much more selfish to tell dipper to stay in gravity falls for research instead making up the past mistake with his brother Stanley
@@Sheeshdear Ford has a huge ego even if he doesn't admit it, his speech to Dipper about how they "came to Gravity Falls for a reason" is just his over inflated sense self worth, think back to the portal incident with Fiddleford, after he got pulled in briefly and Ford yanked him out, what did Ford say? Not "Are you okay?" but "What is it? Is it Working? What did you see?" His concern was on the portal and not his friend's wellbeing, but most of the fanbase barely acknowledge that.
i mean alex hirsch literally said that weirdmageddon wouldn't have happened if ford had told mabel about the rift. idk what more there is to say. you can argue about mabels flaws all you want, but causing weirdmageddon was not one of them.
Mabel didn’t even know the rift would cause the apocalypse because Ford decided he didn’t want to trust his family and only tell Dipper because he was projecting his issues with Stan onto Dipper and Mabel
I'd say another step would be to convince a 12 year old boy to abandon his sister and rest of his family and become a scientist assistant for his whole life
As a tween girl I didn't really relate to Mabel much. I never really had crushes or interest in that kind of thing so her "boy crazy" plot lines never connected to me. Then in the finale she suddenly became the character I related to most. Growing up, I had a paralyzing fear of growing up. I hated the idea of my body changing, of starting high school, of being a teenager, of changing as a person, of eventually becoming an adult. That speech Wendy gives Mabel at the high school outlined everything that scared me, and then Mabel's journey in the finale was one of the most emotionally resonant parts of the show for me... which is why I'm so glad I went mostly unaware of the Mabel hate at that age! Basically, I'll put it this way: Mabel's actions have NOTHING on what I would have willingly unleashed on the world if given the opportunity to not turn 13.
@@limelantern5637 yeahhh the boy crazy aspect was never a thing for me but her weirdness and creativity, especially in the Quinton Trembley episode and her ability to see things in a way others wouldn’t because of those qualities really got to me. I’m neurodivergent but not in the over achieving academic way that Dipper is, and I really connect to Mabel for those reasons. To me they’re both Autistic coded and Mabel gives me real AuDHD vibes and I absolutely love her for that.
@@anamariefalk3796me who is autistic, I also like to believe that she is autistic 😄 But yea, I get why people are upset at Mabel but weirdmageddon wasn’t really her fault because honestly it was ford’s fault for not telling her about it. This is why bill took advantage to trick Mabel, especially when she was being extremely vulnerable and emotionally hurt because of her fear of no longer having her brother around. He tricked her that the rift was a way to keep summer, and Mabel believed it because ford never told her! I love ford but i cannot deny that he really messed up for not telling her a very important thing and all for what? Just so dipper isn’t brought down by Mabel just like how he believed Stan did to him back in high school years ago. And let’s not forget that dipper was concerned for Mabel if he agrees to be ford’s assistant and ford just shrugs it off and says that she’ll be fine without him. It’s just sad because Mabel was gonna slowly go thru the same thing Stan went thru, to be left alone while ford and dipper would leave them behind. But yea, I do get why people are upset at Mabel, but weirdmageddon wasn’t her mistake. If there’s someone who does deserve to get the blame is bill. Like he has done so many evil f’d up things and yet he is like one of the most popular Disney tv villains but yet Mabel gets way too much hate all because she was feeling insecure, alone, scared and vulnerable before the weirdmageddon episode 😢
Stanley probably didn’t graduate HIGH SCHOOL, but managed to reopen the portal. I think he probably was as smart as Ford, but his parents just didn’t encourage that in him because he isn’t smart in the same way as Ford
Stan doesn't get enough credit, tbh I've never liked Ford much and seeing the majority of the fanbase treat him as this "UwU babygirl who did nothing wrong" instead of a flawed character is pretty annoying.
@@nathanblackburn1193 Ford is my favorite character and that man did SO MANY things wrong lol. He's very deeply flawed and that's what makes him intriguing to me. Also I 100% agree Stanley is extremely underrated!! He's honestly so cool and so much more complex than people give him credit for. The Stan twins have an absolute chokehold on my thoughts at all times lol
@@nathanblackburn1193 I love Ford BECAUSE he’s a flawed character. People have their own interpretations of characters and prefer to have the nice simplicity of thinking of the good version of that character. (Example: viewing Bill cipher as some silly fun chaotic character instead of someone who has tortured and killed several people). I’m all for the cool animatics and drawings of the best versions of these characters, but people also have to realize that their interpretation of the character is subjective (and so is yours and mine)
@@VerySourTaste I'm not trying to say Ford is a bad character even though I'm not really fond of him, I just don't like how some of the fanbase ignores his flaws, it's a problem many fandoms have really
It's a very weird trend for people to say "This bad thing that happened in a story is caused by a character's core motivations and emotional state. This is bad actually."
When a child is being while in an emotional state: People: "How could this character not know not to be manipulated? How could her brain not know that something is suspicious? Weird as hell...I tell you what
It's a fictional story. One doesn't have to justify who they dislike. In Harry Potter, you can freely hate Umbridge more than Voldemort simply because her evil feel more real than that of Voldemort's.
(This is sarcasm, but) don’t you know girls mature faster?!?! Like, a twelve your old girl is basically an adult, and should be expected to act like one, but how can we expect this guy to grow up after only a trillion years, that’s to hard on him! He still needs time to grow up!!! (Like I said, sarcasm). I agree though, like, I think people forget, but DIPPER MADE A DEAL WITH BILL TOO! And the difference is that he KNEW that he was making a deal with bill, while Mabel was talking to someone who she thought was someone she trusted.
As someone who dealt with MULTIPLE divorces as a child, I will say this If someone who I had seen manipulate the space time continuum with a tape measure promised me I wouldn't have to go back home for even an extra DAY, I would have given my very soul People who blame Mabel for everything even after knowing about the divorce have probably never had it so bad they literally had to be sent to another state for their own mental health. If any parent is willing to send their kid off for that, that divorce is about to get ROUGH. Children aren't blind. They know when somethings wrong, and adults suck at hiding the fact mommy and daddy cant stand each other. Your entire life's stability is crumbling around you, and you have two options. Cry, or fight to hold what little you have together. And eventually you have no more tears to shed.
THIS !!! As someone who’s dealt with my own shit growing up and mental health issues rn, it gets rough. And when shit hits the fan and you’re desperate enough, you’ll do desperate things. Everyone loves to say ‘couldn’t be me’ but most people saying that have never been anywhere near a situation where they were forced to their demons. Trigger warning, but shit gets so bad sometimes people contemplate ending their lives. Is it so hard to understand a 12 year old girl that doesn’t have a fully developed brain not has the coping skills to deal with that kind of reality where her entire world is crumbling around her might be desperate enough to hand smtg she doesn’t know what it is to someone she knows and trusts. Someone who she knows has the means to do what he says and someone who she knows is very bent on following the rules, so also i think it’s safe to assume she would believe he wouldn’t do anything to harm anyone or anything illegal. That’s not to say she was right for giving smtg that wasn’t hers, that’s a flaw she definitely needs to sort through, but an explanation is not an excuse. It just goes to show WHY she did it. Like i don’t understand how that’s si hard to understand
The thing about this that really pisses me off is that DIPPER MADE A DEAL WITH BILL TOO!!! Like, they try to say, oh Mabel made a deal with bill, and is evil person, which makes her a villain worthy of scorn. But so did dipper. And I think the most interesting part of that to me, is that dipper knew he was making a deal with bill, where as Mabel thought she was going to get a little more time untill her whole life collapsed by getting some help with a previously (relatively) trustworthy person. Ford also made a deal with bill, but no one gives him crap for it. “Oh well, Mabel knew he was evil, therefore she should have known better, Ford couldn’t have known”, but no, she didn’t know blendin Bladen was evil (because that’s how it was presented to her), and I would argue that most people wouldn’t either. So why does ford get a pass? (Hint, it’s Mabel’s three crimes from the end of the video) Oh well, some might say, dipper was forced to sacrifice his chance with Wendy to make Mabel happy wich makes her selfish. (Time traveling tape measure episode) First, No he didn’t, he never had a shot, and maybe he didn’t know that, but it’s true. But Mabel didn’t Force him to, he looked at the pain this decision causing, and made that choice. Idk, I just feel like most of the bad things Mabel does is something that is done by the other male characters do, sometimes to a worse extent. Like she mentioned, yeah Mabel’s boy crazy, but dipper is flat out creepy towards Wendy in some cases, and she’s annoying, but like, so is dipper sometimes, she can be a bad sibling, well so can dipper. In her mind she was already having to leave her only freinds, and then the one constant in her life is no longer constant, wich gets worse if we factor in her parents getting divorced, and she was going to have to manage that herself. They both have give and take moments of being bad people, but that’s because it’s a tv show. It would be boring if everyone was perfect . Sorry, I have a lot of feelings about this. I also personally relate a lot to Mabel, so I might be more defensive that I ought to be.
And even in both of their situations to making their deals, he came to both of them during vulnerable states (dipper being sleep deprived and panicking about the laptop/mabel realizing she might lose her brother and fearing growing up) Both were manipulated into it, yet Mabel’s the one that takes the brunt of the blame :/ Plus with Mabel she figured Blendin was someone she could trust in her vulnerable state, so it makes sense she’d let her guard down and hand over the rift
EXACTLY THIS !!! HOW DO PEOPLE KEEP FORGETTING THIS. I get if they just don’t like her character and think she’s annoying or dumb or whatever. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. What’s so grating is the hypocrisy. Why is a 12 year old girl held to so much of a higher standard than literally everyone else, including two elderly men and a literal ancient inter dimensional demon. Although ig i shouldn’t be surprised considering everything women and girls do is scrutinized irl
One of my conclusion upon watching the series and analyzing it and seeing videos is that Mabel and Stan are outwardly shown as more selfish but if you pay attention they are actually more supportive to their twins and Dipper and Ford are more selfish even though they are presented as seemingly less seflish. Like think about it: Dipper is always not taking Mabel into consideration like not biting the bullet and dressing up with Mabel in Summerween, trying to sacrifice Waddles, being unsupportive in her interests such as boys and fashion and thinking his interest in the Falls is tantamount and important even if he does not know why. Ford acts like Stan ruined his life but in reality Stan's life was the one ruined. Ford never stood up for him and he called him back only so he could help him clean up his mess because "you know who I never want to see again, my brother". When Stan finally gets him back he basically does what his father did and said get out. Stan was always shown sticking up for him, he did not understand his science jargon but he stood up for Ford and encouraged him. He helped him make these plans and assured Ford he would always be there. Even though he was an ass to him, Stan spent years trying to get him back. He always bit back any resentment he had for Ford too. And he never stopped trying to get him back. Mabel has her like her own interest in friends and boys but seems very content in helping out Dipper as well. She helped him find the real founder and seemed like very content in her Watson Role. She helps him out with what he is doing and is willing to play wingman and support for him. Like Sock Opera seems to be the only time she is not there and that took "hey I need to make a play in a weekend" and in the end sacrifices the play for him when he effed up. She seems to just be happy spending time with him.
@@faishiro5009 this is such a good and concise way of saying what I’ve been trying to express!!! Like, when push comes to shove, Mable and Stan will make sacrifices for the ones they love. Stan implicitly sacrificed all his free time just trying to get his brother back, even when they were in a fight. I think people see Mabel having interests outside the plot as being selfish, but dipper has interests he puts over all else, but it’s just the plot, so we consider it important.
I believe in the commentary for dungeons dungeons and more dungeons Alex Hirsch says something like "If Dipper had told Mabel about the rift there would've been no apocalypse"
people be like "Omg dipper's so neurodivergent coded!!!"and then shit on Mabel for being "weird" and "annoying" WHEN SHE ALSO IS OBVIOUS SHOWING NEURODIVERGENT TRAITS!! You'd see me on the news oh my lord- AaAAAAAAaAAAA She hyper focuses, she has problems with social cues, SHES TWELVE AND SHE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO COPE rah I have FEELINGS about this good evening
YES!!! I feel like there's sometimes this stigma in _part of_ the neurodivergent community about what's "too weird"... like, god forbid this neurodivergent-coded character be mildly annoying or not really mask their symptoms well, or not be completely relatable to your experience . I've also noticed there's an overlap with them having a problem with "too weird" queer people as well sometimes.
Yeah i feel really confused on why Dipper is considered the sweet but sassy one but Mable is the weird one? Theyre both weird and likable in different ways! Mable is girly, energetic and bubbly and Dipper is sometimes more serious but alsow gets excited about his odd intrest and Dipper might have only one crush trough the whole show (Wendy) but he was alsow weird it wasnt just Mable that was a bit odd with her crushes and intrests. I find her weird sometimes yes but i get confused when people say she's genuinely a bad person/character or say se's overall annoying ;-;
This is so true, both of them read as autistic to me and i recognise a lot of my own autistic traits in them. I only watched the show very recently and finding out people hated Mabel surprised me so much, because to me she really is the same as Dipper, she just expresses herself very differently. Both of them are super passionate kids that hyperfixate all the time and it reeks of ableism anytime i see Mabel hate. To me personally, Dipper feels like the part of my autism that was generally accepted by at least the adults around me, and sometimes even praised. While Mabel feels like the "weird" behaviors i was bullied over and forced to hide. It hurts to see people hate Mabel honestly, since she feels like that part of me that i learned to hate myself over. Sorry this is a really long rant about my personal feelings 😅 i just cant with the Mabel hate, its so upsetting
I am BEGGING for a fanfic writer to have a story where all the main characters are blaming themselves for Weirdmageddon and then they walk through each of these steps and come to the correct solution here asdf
See, I like the idea of Ford being the part of the "blaming themself for what happened" thing, and then the ultimate conclusion is that the main person to blame is, in fact, Bill Cipher, the guy who lied to and manipulated him and Mabel and Dipper for that matter specifically to cause this.
“We haven’t talked about dipper a lot” GOOD. GOOD. HE GETS ALL OF THE ATTENTION AND AS A WEIRD GIRL WHO WAS A MABEL CHILD; she had dreamy anime boys as her dream man. She was a unique child who loved others and wanted to feel the same love she gave to others. SHE EVEN THOUGHT HER EXS (Ik he isn’t really her ex but mermando was her MAN) NEW WIFE WAS BEAUTIFUL! (She was a narwhal)
Sorry if I am wrong…Wasnt she a manatee? I recall her being some kind of flubby Walrus looking thing and I was under the impression it was a manatee. Then again I havent watched the show in a few years. But yeah. I need to see more Mabel love. As a very very hyperactive and weird nerdy autistic kid I always related a lot to the both, but esp to Mabel lol. Even as a near-17 year old…Mabel resonates with me far far more than Dipper now. Tbh ive grown to Stanley Pines that guy is so mecore lol.
Mabel being at fault for the apocalypse is like me being at fault for the apocalypse if someone I know comes up to me and says if I push a button I’ll get $1M and I push it and the apocalypse starts. Not a one to one, but it’s just the question of, “Since when does someone get the blame when they’re literally just being lied to?”
That's not really the issue, the issue is, again, that she's a child. For an adult, that would be pretty negligent within the context. Even as a child, there's still wrongdoing, but more of the kind of things you get "grounded" for. (Like, Blandin is still for all intents and purposes an adult stranger she's wandering off with. And she give away something that didn't belong to her. Both of which are pretty normal things you might punish a 12 year old for).
A Mabel defense video in 2024? It’s like an early birthday present! Also, I love that you literally mapped out 13 whole ass steps to the apocalypse, incredible work.
As someone who recently decided to rewatch Gravity Falls _completely and hilariously unrelated_ to the release of Book of Bill, it's wild to me how deep the rabbit hole really goes with this show. Mabel is just a kid, and it's even crazier that people blame her for an apocalypse that she had no way of knowing she was taking part in bringing about because of the actions of the rest of her family.
Heyy, I also rewatched recently, before I even heard about the book's release, lol. It made for a great time to start caring about the show again at least
I don't even blame Mabel for step 12, I blame Ford. He was the one who convinced Dipper to keep secrets from Mabel and kept them seperate by projecting his own issues with Stan onto them. If Ford had just let Dipper keep Mabel in the loop, she would have understood the importance of the rift and likely wouldn't have been tricked into giving it away. Ford set her up to be alone and afraid, which made her ripe for manipulation.
She straight up said "Huh, maybe Dipper has something like that in his nerd bag" I won't say that Ford is blameless but Mabel gave away something she knew belonged to her brother for in her own words "Just a little more summer" which would force everyone into a never ending time bubble because she didn't want to face reality Ford at least has the excuse of not trusting anyone after Bill (He wasn't even sure if he could trust Stan when they reunited) so he likely didn't want Mabel or Stan knowing since they tend to be more open books and a lot more emotional
@@skyknight2233 I think the twelve year old is allowed to be immature and want more time with her family and friends. All of the characters are flawed and have to mature (that's why she in particular had to leve the bubble Bill put her into), Dipper could have trusted her with the information, but was immature and prefered adult validation, which is also a fine flaw to have as a 12 year old boy
@@skyknight2233not sure what point you’re getting at, but mabel didnt actually know they’d be forced into a never ending time bubble. As the op said, she didn’t even know the importance of the rift because she wasnt kept in the loop. She wouldnt have given it away if she did know. Giving something of her brother’s away isn’t great, but she thought she was giving it to someone she could trust, and lets not forget how incredibly emotionally vulnerable she was. Children make mistakes all the time, incredibly distraught children whose whole life is about to be upturned? Even more so. It was Ford’s responsibility to keep her in the know about something dangerous, and he didn’t.
I was once talking to a guy I had a crush on, and we got on the topic of gravity falls. He said he really didn’t like Mabel, because she was selfish and annoying and was a bad sister and friend. This legitimately was what gave me the ick. Like, my crush was kind of waning, but at that moment I immediately forgot why I liked him. I think part of it was like, Mabel’s twelve and I think she deserves grace, and like, I think that she didn’t do anything that was horrendously bad in comparison to any other character. And two, because if I am any character from anything I am Mabel, so I will not hear any slander towards her. (Also, I think this story gets funnier if I clarify, this happens with I was 19) If Mabel has a million fans, I’m one of them, if she has one hundred fans I’m one of them, if she has one it’s me, and if she has none, I’m dead.
@@lilaniloxi like I said, it was already kind of declining, but like, idk, it just made me mad. I feel like it’s really hard to hold Mabel up as the worst character or even the worst of the good guys, or even the worst of the pines family, without misogyny coming into the mix
Okay but when she said Mable wants to be understood, like around 35:23 it reminded me of the Owl House and how Luz achieved character actualization because “all she wanted was to be understood”. Along with the earlier section of the video that talks about the utterly unique experience of being a 12 year old girl… it has the gears in my head turning. Society really does shit on teen girls and I think stories that really pertain to them, or at least center them as main character(s), try to get these really unique experiences across. However, because these experiences are generally unknown to anyone but these young girls… they get met with aggression or resentment. (Because people tend to react that way towards the unknown). So this big emphasis on these teen girl characters wanting to be understood, mirrors the entire demographic of their character in these forms of media; that can easily be disregarded by anyone outside of them. (And when you throw in some good, old fashioned, systemic misogyny) it leads to characters like Mabel (or Sakura from Naruto, or Bella from Twilight, etc.) getting hyper targeted by this hate/resentment, born from not understanding & not wanting to understand their experiences. Edit: I should specify I am a REALLY drunk 24 year old man, so my brain kinda just kept going as I was typing and I hope I got my point across, y’all get it.
Gwen and Mabel when it comes to being flawed characters that are involved in making the apocalypse (albeit indirectly) and doing things that they regret 🤝
"a ball of anxiety masquerading as a human boy" is exactly why I always related to Dipper so much. I have to admit I was almost intrigued by some of the "it's all Mabel's fault" theories, but just like Dipper, I would have given my life for her now matter how much she annoyed me sometimes
For that same reason I will DIE on the hill of Dipper Pines being a trans boy. Do all of his actions make sense within his already established character? Yes. But do I relate way too much to him not see them as trans-coded? Also yes. His obsession with masculinity, not wanted to be seen as similar to Mabel, wearing a shirt to the pool at points, him only ever being called by what is canonically his nickname, even his obsession with Wendy. I don't think these are all BECAUSE he's trans, but I think they're even better with that extra layer
@@marveludus bruh same, as a transguy I absolutely love the headcanon that Dipper is transmasc and he was probably one of the first characters I started really relating to when I started questioning my gender expression
@@KalinTheZolai remember seeing that theory/headcanon and i remember liking it cause mabel and dipper look identical, but identical twins are always the same sex so having boy/girl identical twins can only mean one is trans. Now i’ve started identifying as nb, i see it even more (i’m afab) and i related so much to him as a kid. Lowkey got gender envy _from_ him, which is ironic. I know dipper and mabel are based on Alex H and his twin sister, so he’s not actually intended to be trans, but it does fit perfectly into the story.
As a weird, anxious child who was terrified of the future, Mabel Pines was the first character I ever saw myself in. Can’t believe some people blame her for causing the apocalypse when she was just being a 12 year old girl.
To be fair, most apocalypses (in fiction) are caused by weird, anxious people who are terrified of the future. With power-hungry, greedy and ambitious people in 2nd place.
I have been a 12 year old girl and that is in fact a crime Mabel and Dipper both have negative traits but dippers are minimized while Mabel's are maximized, because unlike dipper she committed the crime of being a 12 year girl
@@roviize9425not only the age card, also the gender card. The fandom just loves to suck Ford's dick even though he fucked up way more than Mabel with his sibling relatioship and gadgets. But he's an old man so thats fine. But if you are a hyperactive tween girl with flaws? Nah call the police
I think society is generally harsher on girls than boys. "Oh let that 13 year old girl to babysit!" Verses "No! Billy can't babysit! He's only 16! He's not mature enough!" Heck even the media consumed. Boybands are the worst! But yeah let boys get brain damage with Boxing and American Football. 🏈
I call Bull. Look at the a bunch of the episodes and Dipper gets comupance or has to learn a lesson because of his negative traits. This happens disproportionately to him over Mabel.
@@joelsasmadi disagree with that. mabel definitely has lessons she has to learn too and learns them. And both are just trying their best to navigate a difficult world as 12 year old kids. I think it’s pretty balanced out between the lessons they need to learn and being a support to each other as well as both having their moments where they’re mean ti each other because that’s just what siblings do. Mabel definitely has her flaws as every character does, but she means well. Almost all of her arcs deal with her being a bleeding heart and wanting everyone around her to be happy. Definitely not the healthiest mentality and she doesn’t always go about it in the best ways but again she’s 12. She’ll learn that life is nuanced and sometimes you have to go through difficult trials. That was her whole lesson in the end. And dipper definitely has his own trials with pride and ego as well that he also learns in the end. The point of the whole show was that you can rely on the people around you. That life is unpredictable and can be difficult, but so long as you got each other you can make it through
i always loved mabel. she was sweet, and genuinely supportive of whatever people thought would make them happy (even when it was kind of a toxic chase). she just wanted everyone to be happy.
Ladies, gentlemen, assorted folks of the in-between, it’s time for another episode of “Media Illiterate or Misogynist”. The show where we give two options, but really only need one.
@tarotstorm6474 your refereeing to my profile? Buddy it’s an edgy joke, and one that doesn’t even make sense, the nazi’s weren’t misogynistic, many lebonsborn children where born girls and seen as perfect.
@@liittlemiissdso, first of all, don't think that's true, nazis were very homophobic. Second of all, using people's death and suffering as an edgy joke is disgusting. I feel like it's hilarious: you critisize mabel for her actions, while doing something so horrid. I knew Mabel haters weren't smart, but wow, I didn't expect them to be nazi supporters
It'sso weird when people say that Dipper isn't selfish and is just a little cringey. It's giving favorite syndrome when people just conventiently forget Dipper's flaws and go "Why can't you be more mature?" That's what it feels like, some people just look at Dipper and go, "Wow, he's pretty smart and has some really good points and is doing a lot of adventuring and actually solving mysteries! And awww, look at his little crush! He's not doing anything wrong!" And then suddenly look at Mabel and go "Why can't you be more like your brother?!! Why can't you be normal?" They are unintentionally making the exact same scenario that the Stans' parents made by favoriting one child but then ignoring the other because they "Don't have much value" It's so weird!!
Don't forget how they defend dipper making a deal with Bill despite knowing how evil he is (he has read the journal hundreds of times and likely knows how bill manipulates people unlike Mabel who most likely never read it) by claiming he was manipulated at a low point but when you point out how Mabel was also at her lowest which was worse than dippers since she thought she was losing her brother those same people said that it is no excuse despite not even knowing that it was bill or the snow globe is the rift. Funny how they make every excuse for Dipper but absolutely refuse to see how Mabel was also vulnerable and taken of.
The thing is that episodes frequently have Dipper get his comupance or have to make sacrifices in the end, learning his lesson. This never really happens to Mabel at all.
Her parents were possibly going through a divorce, her longest friend is offered an amazing life away from her; a life she knows he wants because she pays attention to him. And that little chat with wendy in the school gymnasium was comically horrible at keeping her excited to age. The fucking triangle caused the apocalypse we should not have piled on her like that. (She's fictional and im a dork)
Also, insert Marge Simpson saying "Kids, could you lighten up?" here, but it really does bug me so much that a child can be manipulated by an older person who influences her to do bad things (which she doesn't even fully understand) and parts of the fandom act like she's got the same culpability as, like, Dr. Manhattan at the end of Watchmen. Like guys there's a word for what happened to Mabel and it seems like you're blaming her for it.
Bill literally is an opportunist! He came to people at their most emotional, Ford was down and lost in his work, Dipper was sleep deprived and could easily be tricked, Mabel had her reality shattered in one day, leaving her panicking and crying. Why are we looking at the child for being tricked at a literal mind demon that manipulates everyone?
i still can’t believe people genuinely hate mabel or blame her for the plot happening. i was around for the original airing and fandom and didn’t see like any of that, i guess it’s picked up in more recent years?
I'm sure they were there, but honestly what I remember more of during airing were people annoyed with how the narrative handled her rather than the character herself. Mostly in regards to the fact that throughout the bulk of the series, the narrative didn't punish her mistakes to the same degree as Dipper. Things just tended to "work out" in the end. Which, again, isn't the character's fault.
Was she the last line of Defense? Yes She Was. Should She have been? absolutely not. I feel like 90% of the Mabel Blame is people blaming her initially as the last link in the chain and then take a step back and re-evaluate, then the other 10% are weirdos who hate children for being not as emotionally or mentally intelligent as adults. Why did that Plea for Understanding have to hit so hard. you gave me a sadness migraine. i love these videos.
She wasn't supposed to or expected to protect the time rift, she just took it and that's when Bill saw the opportunity to strike. Can't blame her for being the weakest link
I think for a lot of people it's the fact that Mabel never acknowledges her mistake. Like, it's totally understandable that she made that mistake, and she shouldn't be blamed for the consequences of this mistake, but the least she can do is own up to it. But that made me wonder, does she even know? Cuz right after Blendin-Bill breaks the rift and laughs maniacally, she gets knocked out. And THEN the "gate between worlds" opens up. So maybe she thought that the rift incident only lead to her being trapped in the bubble, and she doesn't even know it was the rift that kickstarted Weirdmageddon. Cuz if she DID know it, then she should fess up to it. She shouldn't get punished for it, she should just do it of her own volition, to show she learned something from it, and as a show of responsibility. Yes, she couldn't have known that the snowglobe-looking thing could cause the end of the world. But she DID know that it wasn't her property to give away and that she willingly did so without asking permission. Should we crucify her over it? Of course not. But we also shouldn't act like it was just an accident. It was a conscious decision. And yes, 12 year olds make dumb decisions. We don't blame them for that. But we do urge them to learn and grow from them. So a simple "I shouldn't have done that" would've sufficed. She acknowledges that trying to have an endless summer is unreasonable, but she never acknowledged what she was willing to give away in order to get it, whether she knew that it inadvertently had dire consequences or not.
@@ShyGuyXXLall of this is better then this entire video. You explain your points quickly your points make sense and it's not politically motivated lol. Mabel messed up and never apologized that's the only reason the fandom ever hated her. So for this person to make a 40 minute video claiming otherwise is just an insane take.
@@hiddenjemstone2582 these people are strange They act like Dipper sacrificed everything for Mabel when usually the most he gave up is spending time with his crush who is way too old for him
It's good to reiterate that failt and blame are different things it is her fault that the event ultimately started but blaming her for being taken advantage of is unreasonable
To be honest, I’m not even a huge Mabel fan and even I think the weirdmageddon thing is dumb. Most of the things she does that grate at me are based on a mutually unhealthy dynamic with Dipper (or other subcimes of being a 12yo girl). Biggest ticket thing I think she’s reasonably accountable for is how it took her a musical number explicitly pointing it out to make her realize (arguable) slavery and gaslighting are wrong. And she _did_ realize that in presumably less than a day.
I think this is genuinely my favorite video you're made so far. In 2014 I was somewhere around 9-10 years old, making me about Mabel's age when the show ended in 2016. And seeing the vitriolic hatred people, usually ADULTS, had for mabel was honestly so hurtful and damaging? This video is healing my inner child. Thank you
One thing I noticed about the discourse is that some people so badly want a clear cut villain who's to blame for everything, but it CAN'T BE BILL for some reason. If you tell them Mabel is just a child and isn't to blame for all of that, they nod sagely and go: "Ah yes. Because it's Ford's fault. Everything that happens is his fault. I checked the DSM and he literally has NPD so it's his fault." NO! Now they just went from being weirdly sexist to a child to weirdly ableist to a traumatised man! That's a lateral move!
Not me nearly crying because of a Gravity Falls vid lol. Mable deserves so much love, yes I see her. But I also was her, and I forget that sometimes. 12 year old girls, or little girls in general, are almost never taken seriously, but they are so capable. I may be able to unconsciously turn my back on those feelings now, as an adult, because I can be taken seriously and listened to. But I need to remember that frustration of being a 12 year old girl, wanting to be silly and goofy, while also wanting to not be put in that little box, or be treated like I was less than capable. I need to remember that, so other little girls DON'T have to feel that. Thank you
Also, what Mabel actually did in vs the future: She got MANIPULATED by Bill into giving him something that belonged to Dipper (as far as she knew) without knowing what the consequences would be. Now, where have we seen this before? That's right, in SOCK OPERA!! In it, DIPPER gets manipulated into giving Bill something of Mabel's (as far as he knows). Only, Dipper full on knew that he was making a deal with BILL CIPHER. Mabel thought she was dealing with Blendin Blandin, who's not even an antagonist anymore! And yet no one blames Dipper for getting manipulated!!
No, you're wrong here, people 𝙖𝙧𝙚 blaming Dipper for getting manipulated, and honestly this is probably the one moment Mabel's defenders claim to use as prove that Dipper is more selfish than Mabel.
@@malik.a4125 People are mass blaming him for that episode that you've already mentioned, and for other couple episodes..like "Fight Fighters", " Time traveller's pig", "Summerween" and "Scary Oke"..
It is absolutely wild that people think handing over the rift makes Mabel responsible for Weirdmageddon. Someone offers you a thing that seems impossible to achieve on your own (a new car, admission to your preferred college, $1,000,000) in exchange for a snow globe you found in your brother's backpack. You've never seen this snow globe before, your brother has never mentioned it, it's just something he had in his backpack. If the guy then takes that snow globe and beats someone to death with it --- are you responsible for that person's death? No! And it'd be crazy to think so.
I want to argue at step 8, I fully believe Ford deserves more blame than Dipper there, if ford never said to keep quiet about the rift he would’ve told Mabel, if ford didn’t say to specifically not tell Mabel dipper would’ve told Mabel, it is only because ford didn’t trust Mabel or trust dippers perception of people that she didn’t know about the rift.
Nice try, Bill. You’re trying to make sure you get full credit for your apocalypse, but we can see that you’ve possessed Haley because of the yellow eyes! (Great video)
Ive noticed a trend where people who watched gravity falls when they were older, like around college age or above tend to latch on to stanford as their favourite character(or one of the other adults, in this case and the other case im examing off of it has been specifically stanford) while people who watched the show when they were children(Aka me) telnd to latch on to one of the younger characters, perticularly the twins. Will have to do further research on this topic
As a kid, I don’t know if I even had a favorite character, but I’m pretty sure I liked Wendy- and if not Wendy then soos. But now as someone way older, I love ford (probably because I’ve grown to like drawing scientist / doctor / detective characters. Or characters with a sort of knack for whatever their job is, like an electrician oc I have) So seeing a character like ford who is so passionate about whatever he studies just makes me like him a lot (Ofc I’m not someone who says he did nothing wrong and he’s baby. I like him even more because of his flaws and how he comes to recognize his own flaws and grows as a character)
I’ve never heard anyone more perfectly articulate the hell experience of being a 12-year-old girl. For real had to pause doing my laundry there for a second just to take it in.
a literal 12 year old girl was having the actual worst moment of her entire life up to that point, and was emotionally manipulated by who she thought was someone she trusted, and was completely left out of the loop about the most pivotal part of the entire thing... but sure, she knowingly and purposefully caused the apocalypse people were just being misogynist lol there really is no other way around it (i know this is pretty much just what you said in the video but its still so funny. like people really were just being awful for no reason)
As a person with OCD, who’s OCD came about when I was 13 due to catastrophic change that I couldn’t control… that whole speech at the end evicerated me on a spiritual level holy shit Haley just hand me my heart on a plate next time (I loved this video I will be rewatching it 100 times)
Oh no the Mystery Shack HAS to make a ton of money, like nutzo amounts of money, that portal is MILLIONS of dollars of work over 3 decades. It shows how much more he cares about Ford than his family, he could have gone back if he really wanted to, but he didn't.
People forget that Blendin was also heavily involved in the start of weirdmaggedon. People don’t seem to realize that simply getting his hands on the rift was Bill’s last step. He could have tricked soos, or even Wendy, anyone who was around or closest to the rift. Heck, he could have just walked in as blendin and brute forced getting the rift in a physical form (although I know that wouldn’t be very good plot-wise, but still) Basically, don’t think that Mabel was the only option for Bill. He could have tricked anyone in the town (obviously except for the people who knew the rift’s purpose like dipper and ford)
Gideon's deal may have brought bill's attention onto the pines family, but the important part of the deal would be allowing bill into our dimension as at the time he was stuck in the dream dimension. Because of this I would argue that dipper is just as guilty as Gideon for making deals with Bill, especially as bill was allowed into our dimension through dipper. Obviously Blendin is the most guilty of the post ford deals, but you already scored him for that, the deal itself is implied to be breaking blendin out of time prison tho i dont think that is ever confirmed
Not going to lie this is the best Gravity Falls video I’ve ever seen. Glad we can all come to the shocking and unreasonable but ultimately unavoidable conclusion that Bill Cipher, the little fellow who planned and executed and thoroughly reveled in the apocalypse, caused the apocalypse
My best friend’s niece just turned 12 and I got her the first few Sisters Grimm fairytale detective books for her birthday, and the main character is an 11/12 year old girl. And I’m rereading them now so I can talk to her about them, and just the whole convo about being a 12 year old girl here… my inner child is screaming because all of this is coming together and so familiar. Justice for Mabel ❤ justice for 12 year old girls
Watching this video made me realize just how FRICKING TRAGIC the Pines family and the plot of this show is JESUS CHRIST wow not directly interacting with a media for over 5 years really changes how you view it huh...
no kidding, this video popped up as i was finishing a 2.5 hour video on gravity falls, which i watched after another 2 hour video on gravity falls, which i watched after a FIVE HOUR video on gravity falls. the book of bill is so damn good and i'm so delighted that this show is being talked about so much rn!!! anyway i'm 3 minutes into this video and i already know you're about to eat, thank u so much
i saw the internet turn in Mabel in real time and it was honestly really weird she was very clearly manipulated by Bill in her lowest moment, like... idk and then there's Ford, he was partly to blame I remember everyone saying Mabel was selfish throughout the show, and that apparently made her irredeemable, while they completely ignored Dipper's flaws.
Please ramble about the triangle please, Hailey your videos are incredible thank you for both introducing me to weird cool things and talking about things I like in fun ways
My nieces suggested this show to me and I watched it for the first time last year. Yes, I did cry my eyes out by the end and yes, I was also 38 years old.
23:42 when you think about, from Mabel’s perspective, not only was Bill playing PERFECTLY to her flaws and wants, not only was she in emotional ruin, but this is the time travel guy from the future she’s talking to. He’s not a stranger, he’s someone she knows to be knowledgeable about time stuff, about tech, much better than her, and who would sensibly want to do this for Mabel.
i’m ngl i used to be a mabel disliker (never blamed her for the apocalypse, that’s entirely on bill and ford to a lesser extent) but i’m happy to say that on rewatch, i like her a lot more! really my only gripe is her tendency to decide what’s best for people (locking dipper and wendy in the closet, the truth teeth thing, and i think most significantly slipping the love potion into robbie and tambry’s food) but honestly, she pretty much always learns her lesson. also it’s just a fact of writing that sometimes characters need to have unlikable traits or make questionable decisions to move the plot along and give them a place to develop from
this is so wildly timed because i JUST finished a rewatch of the show last week!!!! i love Mabel and she is wonderful and i'll defend her until the end of time they're TWELVE
I didn't know this video existed, I didn't know it was in the making at all But when i saw the thumbnail I was not only unsurprised, I thought I had watched it already Gravity falls is so WhipJack coded

I hate how people forget that Ford would never had made it back if it wasn’t for Mabel

Yep, thought the same
As a tween girl I didn't really relate to Mabel much.
Puberty hit me in the face with a chair when I was 10. I would have unleashed 20 Weirdmageddons to make it stop

But yea, I get why people are upset at Mabel but weirdmageddon wasn’t really her fault because honestly it was ford’s fault for not telling her about it.

As someone who dealt with MULTIPLE divorces as a child, I will say this
If someone who I had seen manipulate the space time continuum with a tape measure promised me I wouldn't have to go back home for even an extra DAY, I would have given my very soul
People who blame Mabel for everything even after knowing about the divorce have probably never had it so bad they literally had to be sent to another state for their own mental health.
(Hint, it’s Mabel’s three crimes from the end of the video)
Oh well, some might say, dipper was forced to sacrifice his chance with Wendy to make Mabel happy wich makes her selfish.
And even in both of their situations to making their deals, he came to both of them during vulnerable states (dipper being sleep deprived and panicking about the laptop/mabel realizing she might lose her brother and fearing growing up)
Both were manipulated into it, yet Mabel’s the one that takes the brunt of the blame :/
Plus with Mabel she figured Blendin was someone she could trust in her vulnerable state, so it makes sense she’d let her guard down and hand over the rift
Like think about it:
Dipper is always not taking Mabel into consideration like not biting the bullet and dressing up with Mabel in Summerween, trying to sacrifice Waddles, being unsupportive in her interests such as boys and fashion and thinking his interest in the Falls is tantamount and important even if he does not know why.

I've also noticed there's an overlap with them having a problem with "too weird" queer people as well sometimes.
Yeah i feel really confused on why Dipper is considered the sweet but sassy one but Mable is the weird one? Theyre both weird and likable in different ways! Mable is girly, energetic and bubbly and Dipper is sometimes more serious but alsow gets excited about his odd intrest and Dipper might have only one crush trough the whole show (Wendy) but he was alsow weird it wasnt just Mable that was a bit odd with her crushes and intrests. I find her weird sometimes yes but i get confused when people say she's genuinely a bad person/character or say se's overall annoying ;-;

Ford will cry, I just know it. Especially if this is happening while Stanley is still recovering from his memory loss lol.
See, I like the idea of Ford being the part of the "blaming themself for what happened" thing, and then the ultimate conclusion is that the main person to blame is, in fact, Bill Cipher, the guy who lied to and manipulated him and Mabel and Dipper for that matter specifically to cause this.

Eve (of Adam & Eve fame): What are you, new?

To be fair, Wendy is also a traumatized child
She straight up said "Huh, maybe Dipper has something like that in his nerd bag"
I won't say that Ford is blameless but Mabel gave away something she knew belonged to her brother for in her own words "Just a little more summer" which would force everyone into a never ending time bubble because she didn't want to face reality
Ford at least has the excuse of not trusting anyone after Bill (He wasn't even sure if he could trust Stan when they reunited) so he likely didn't want Mabel or Stan knowing since they tend to be more open books and a lot more emotional

(Also, I think this story gets funnier if I clarify, this happens with I was 19)
If Mabel has a million fans, I’m one of them, if she has one hundred fans I’m one of them, if she has one it’s me, and if she has none, I’m dead.

Alternative title: God Forbid Women do ANYTHING
Well... I mean...
Gwen and Mabel when it comes to being flawed characters that are involved in making the apocalypse (albeit indirectly) and doing things that they regret 🤝
I’m a Mabel hater and I’m confused as to why you’re turning this one into a gender issue
@@jackhanson3856 “god forbid women do anything” is a somewhat common line on the internet. It’s just a joke.

Mabel and Dipper both have negative traits but dippers are minimized while Mabel's are maximized, because unlike dipper she committed the crime of being a 12 year girl

That life is unpredictable and can be difficult, but so long as you got each other you can make it through
@joelsasmad I'm talking about fan reaction lol
i always loved mabel. she was sweet, and genuinely supportive of whatever people thought would make them happy (even when it was kind of a toxic chase). she just wanted everyone to be happy.

As Cartoonshi said: Dipper has his selfish moments just like Mabel, but the audience overlooks it because of Dipper's goals.
It'sso weird when people say that Dipper isn't selfish and is just a little cringey. It's giving favorite syndrome when people just conventiently forget Dipper's flaws and go "Why can't you be more mature?"
That's what it feels like, some people just look at Dipper and go, "Wow, he's pretty smart and has some really good points and is doing a lot of adventuring and actually solving mysteries! And awww, look at his little crush! He's not doing anything wrong!" And then suddenly look at Mabel and go "Why can't you be more like your brother?!! Why can't you be normal?"
They are unintentionally making the exact same scenario that the Stans' parents made by favoriting one child but then ignoring the other because they "Don't have much value"
It's so weird!!
@bluewolf6323 that's exactly what I was thinking. Damn good parallel too.
@@bluewolf6323The difference is that Dipper is always punished for his mistakes in the episode but Mabel usually gets away with a slap on the wrist.
This type of video going through the steps and assigning blame would be really interesting to see for Watchmen now that you mention it.
Yeah I’ve been around since day one and I get the idea that this whole “discourse” popped up a few years after the show ended
No, people were real mad. About Mabel saving she should have died and stuff. It was not nice
no, they were active back in the day. wasn't the whole fandom, but lord were they annoying and loud
How dare Mabel be a 12 year old girl who wants to fit in, the audacity! 🙄
We need a Haley and Athena p crossover y’all would be such a chaotic duo
GOD THAT WOULD BE SO GOOD

You are so right. She didn't even know! I don't understand people
I think for a lot of people it's the fact that Mabel never acknowledges her mistake.
It's good to reiterate that failt and blame are different things
it is her fault that the event ultimately started but blaming her for being taken advantage of is unreasonable

Actually, the people demand this. Turn those rants into their own video. We love it.
People forget that Blendin was also heavily involved in the start of weirdmaggedon. People don’t seem to realize that simply getting his hands on the rift was Bill’s last step. He could have tricked soos, or even Wendy, anyone who was around or closest to the rift. Heck, he could have just walked in as blendin and brute forced getting the rift in a physical form (although I know that wouldn’t be very good plot-wise, but still)
Basically, don’t think that Mabel was the only option for Bill.
As a twin, I can confirm that if the backpacks weren't identical a double tantrum would commence
Also, Dipper and Mabel had befriended Blendin by this point, so that’s even more reason for her to think she could trust him
Not going to lie this is the best Gravity Falls video I’ve ever seen. Glad we can all come to the shocking and unreasonable but ultimately unavoidable conclusion that Bill Cipher, the little fellow who planned and executed and thoroughly reveled in the apocalypse, caused the apocalypse
"thank you haley", we all say in unison
My best friend’s niece just turned 12 and I got her the first few Sisters Grimm fairytale detective books for her birthday, and the main character is an 11/12 year old girl. And I’m rereading them now so I can talk to her about them, and just the whole convo about being a 12 year old girl here… my inner child is screaming because all of this is coming together and so familiar. Justice for Mabel ❤ justice for 12 year old girls
I’m gonna have to rewatch gravity falls now
Watching this video made me realize just how FRICKING TRAGIC the Pines family and the plot of this show is JESUS CHRIST
wow not directly interacting with a media for over 5 years really changes how you view it huh...
i think the deal that bill made with blendin was to give him a less awful voice
No the deal was to have timebaby never bother him again. Its shown in journal 3
no kidding, this video popped up as i was finishing a 2.5 hour video on gravity falls, which i watched after another 2 hour video on gravity falls, which i watched after a FIVE HOUR video on gravity falls. the book of bill is so damn good and i'm so delighted that this show is being talked about so much rn!!!
anyway i'm 3 minutes into this video and i already know you're about to eat, thank u so much
i saw the internet turn in Mabel in real time and it was honestly really weird
she was very clearly manipulated by Bill in her lowest moment, like... idk and then there's Ford, he was partly to blame
I remember everyone saying Mabel was selfish throughout the show, and that apparently made her irredeemable, while they completely ignored Dipper's flaws.
Are those the lae’zel contacts 👀 they’re giving big bill cypher energy
I’ll take any excuse to wear colored contacts 😔 (yes)
I kept thinking do her eyes usually look like that? Cause I'm always multitasking when I watch youtube so I wasn't sure
I know the yellow contacts are to evoke bill possession but it’s just giving me Whipjacks shadow self
Personally I am SO DOWN to hear the Stan and Bill rambling that sounds delightful
stan and mabel guilty for loving their family, i’ll keep saying that til my graces
i’m ngl i used to be a mabel disliker (never blamed her for the apocalypse, that’s entirely on bill and ford to a lesser extent) but i’m happy to say that on rewatch, i like her a lot more! really my only gripe is her tendency to decide what’s best for people (locking dipper and wendy in the closet, the truth teeth thing, and i think most significantly slipping the love potion into robbie and tambry’s food) but honestly, she pretty much always learns her lesson. also it’s just a fact of writing that sometimes characters need to have unlikable traits or make questionable decisions to move the plot along and give them a place to develop from
this is so wildly timed because i JUST finished a rewatch of the show last week!!!! i love Mabel and she is wonderful and i'll defend her until the end of time they're TWELVE
I think you’d really like “Into the bunker” if you haven’t watched it (it’s a fan episode on youtube). It focuses on Ford and Mable
Your cat is always so cute, but just leaning into your face like that is just a whole new level of adorable
Bro, the cat nuzzling you. I can't.
I didn't know this video existed, I didn't know it was in the making at all
But when i saw the thumbnail
I was not only unsurprised, I thought I had watched it already
Gravity falls is so WhipJack coded
Breaking News: Guy who planned apocalypse found to be responsible for apocalypse. Details at 11.
Totally agree with blaming Mr. and Mrs. Pines. I would never buy my kids anything matching that is important as a backpack. How often are they getting in trouble at school for having the wrong homework?
normally I hate it when youtube commentary ppl make videos about animated shows but holy moly you might have the best commentary/analysis I have seen since Lindsay Ellis!! love it!
a Haley Whipjack video on Gravity Falls? And it isn't even my birthday!?
I see so much of my twelve year old self in Mabel's fear of the future and change and growing up. She is so real!
Glad you didn't steal human beings, mind controlled people, bullied your brother or tried to mess with time line on purpose.
@@Koranimorirwhen has mabel mind-controlled people. Also you are forgetting dipper also has manipulated time too to get with wendy.
@@royalxprincessbaka6875 To answer your question
1.In episode "Bottomless pit" she mind controlled Stan with golden teeth, in episode "Love God" she roofied two teenagers, that is kind of mind control, kn episode "Stanchurian Candidate" she and Dipper mind controlled Stan with "mind control" tie, in that episode they also mind controlled Soos, after Stan find out that the whole time he was mind controlled by kids.
2.Right, but he didn't mess with time kn purpose, he had his goal 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙮, but Mabel, even before she lost Waddles, wanted to make 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙙𝙤𝙙𝙤𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙩, and after she lost Waddles, she started to throw tantrums, and started messing with time just 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙞𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝘿𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙧, because of her actions, another innocent person lost his job and was sent to jail.
this video is so fucking beautiful the ending made me sob profusely and healed a bit of my inner child. thank you for this haley - the 12 year old, gravity falls obsessed 12 year old girl who is now a 20 year old adult knitting sweaters and watching youtube :)
haley talking about once upon a time and gravity falls it was decided i needed middle school flashbacks apparently
okay i was expecting happy nostalgia to distract from being a busy college senior who has to do life soon. instead i got further catapulted into an existential crisis. thanks!
36:42
Honest to God, same feelings
This show has possessed me in ways that I did not think we’re possible
What a lovely surprise to see this morning before work! Mabel is my favorite character and I hate hate haaaaate the "mabel caused the apocalypse" accusation. Please keep following the dopamine!! Your videos releases are like nanny mcphee, there when you need it, not when you want it 😂🩵
Yes, technically, but it really wasn't her fault.
-She had no idea what the rift was or why it was so important, because Ford wouldn't tell her.
-She had no reason to distrust "Blendin"
-She was in a terrible state of mind and couldn't think rationally.
