  • Not entirely intuitive when you first look at the fixture. But not as difficult as it seems if you have the proper tool. Only slightly more difficult if you don't have the tool but use your fingers instead. Do this at your own risk, be careful.

    Splendid. This is a perfect step-by-step tutorial. I can barely turn doorknobs, but this tutorial has let me do the job myself.

    Omg I’m a not handy person and found this video super helpful! Four of my track lights came with my house died and I thought I had to replace the entire track head for each one of them and I have no idea how to do it (could be easy). So I’ve been procrastinating to fix it and have been living with the darkened lighting situation for a few months. Finally, today I started to google how to fix this, and now I know I just need to replace the bulbs and it’ll be a really easy fix!!! Being a not handy person with no handy friend sucks, but I’m glad I found your video and thank you soooo much!!

    Hi. Thanks for this great video. We have these lights extended down from a track over a staircase. Is there an extension tool that would enable gripping the fixture while applying the turning torque needed to loosen the bulb? Or otherwise how do people like us levitate up to the bulb? I wonder too if Livonia will sell the tool to us.

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not that I know of. You'll probably have to use a ladder or rig up a scaffold of some sort depending on the height and difficulty factor.

    Do you have another video on how to take the light off of the track to get to the point of handling the fixture?

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fixture twists out of the track. Grab the base, gently pull down and twist 1/4 turn

    What about a Hamilton Bay track light? The bulb to be removed

    I have this same fixture, except mine has glass cover over the bulb. DO you have any suggestions? Thanks for the video!

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wesley Wooten Sometimes a glass cover over the bulb is secured by a spring clip. If that’s the case, you would have to carefully and gently remove the spring clip from between the glass cover and the metal frame surrounding it.Needle nose pliers might help but you have to be careful you don’t break the glass.

      I do not know whether that part is available separately or not. I imagine it is but don't really know where. Your best bet is to contact Lithonia and ask.

    My problem is the glass attached to the bulb comes away on the suction leaving the bulb stuck in the fitting. How do i get the remains out i cant get enough grip on the sides?

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a tough one. You may have to get a new fixture.

    My bulbs are just smooth glass, they will not turn out. This has the making of a great joke

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They will. You just need to have the proper technique.

  • @debb3739
    @debb3739 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, the problem is most people lose that suction tool and then it's virtually impossible to change them

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not suction, it's a disc with several nubs that fit into the edge of the bulb assembly. I am sure that people lose or misplace the tool. As I demonstrate, it's not impossible to remove the bulb without the tool.

      Michael, it is a suction cup if you have the halogen bulb version of the fixture. Yours is specific for LED bulbs. This is a miserable design- I can’t believe they have stuck with it for so long. But thank you so much for this video.
