I was passing by your channel and I discovered your wonderful place…. It’s very refreshing to the soul and mind to see the evolving garden… Many people with projects similar to yours…hide important parts of the process…like…tadaa!!here is the garden out of nowhere…. Congratulations to you and your husband for the enormous amount of time, effort and resources gracefully set in motion for a beautiful place like this… Thanks and blessings….
Love how you added the whimsical willow to the cattle panels! Absolutely brilliant! Lovely deer fence and cedar accents. Thank you for sharing your beautiful gardens. Blessings from zone 3 Canada.
Well I finished watching the video and see how it’s full sun. It’s breathtaking, absolutely gorgeous! What a view. I can just imagine those bears coming up. The little flower room is so adorable! I love everything about this.
I have just discovered your videos and they are lovely! I am in the process of designing our garden and I want it to grow food but also be full of beautiful flowers and I love how you have combined the two in your kitchen garden. I am inspired and I can't wait to see more! P.S. your dress is also beautiful! 😍
What you’ve done is beautiful & I think the terracing you’ve created with the large rocks is far more attractive than the smaller stones you mentioned, it looks like part of the land.
omg, just found you & I am drooling over your garden & the stacked stone feature!!! Holy cow... your daughter's sweet custom-built flower shop and those arches in your garden!!!! gorgeous! had to subscribe. need to watch more of your videos! will definitely share your channel with my friends. i am eating breakfast and typing with one hand... because I could not wait... HAD to tell you how much I LOVE your video and design ideas!!!!!!!
Yes, I too have an earwig infestation. I buried a small container in my garden bed with 1/4 olive oil and the rest soy sauce. The earwigs love it - go inside - get covered with oil and die. This method is working for me. Some youtube videos suggest that you cover the top - like a small yogurt container - and cut small holes. I live in S. CA and so not too worried about rain, so mine is lidless. I found this info on youtube. Oh, some gardeners used tuna or sardine oil. I guess the earwigs go after strong smells. Patti
I used the same method in a few places, and it did attract them like crazy! Last year they were just so bad I still found them everywhere despite my best efforts to control their population. Hopefully this year will be better for both of us!
I have recently discovered your channel and I am crazy about your style! Everything is just so pretty! I LOVE that stone wall it looks perfect and when the flowers all kick it it will be amazing! The Tuteurs that you father build are beautiful! I just built 2 myself and they are not as pristine as yours but they look nice! I they are not easy to make alone! I also love what you did with the willow arches in the kitchen garden!
Hi Pat, thank you so much for the kind words! I’m so glad you are enjoying my garden, and I’m very impressed you made obelisks yourself! I keep trying to sync with my dad to teach me to do it myself. I need more of them and have been hesitant to just go for it.
I feel like you need 2 people because getting the tops together neatly is tricky when there is only one person! BUT I don’t think I have ever seen them so pretty as yours!
Just found and subscribed to your channel this morning. This was a wonderful first video, your home is amazing! Going to spend time on this Sunday morning with a second cup of coffee and a few more videos.
Beautiful! I dream of the day I have a kitchen garden ✨ new subscriber here. I look forward to more and seeing the progression of your terraces, I agree with your other commenter that the large rocks look incredible and like they belong there, it'll be so pretty once you have thyme and such planted in all the crevices!
What a stunning kitchen/cut flower garden 🪴 so pretty and any little girls dream playhouse 💕 I cannot wait to see the terrace area take form it’s exciting watching transformations 🌸💕🌸
We had earwigs really bad one year. I found a good control is to make shallow pitfall traps with vegetable oil and soy sauce in them. We caught hundreds! They are not native in our area so I did not feel too bad. You do have to check the traps everyday though because lizards can get stuck in them and you would not want them to die.
I’ve used that method as well, it really does catch a lot of them! Thankfully we don’t have lizards so I wouldn’t catch those, but I’ve caught some grasshoppers too.
I am in New Zealand so our growing conditions are different. I have a potager and i have thornless berries and blueberries as well. I have to give them many times more space than you have done because the growth rate is so much more. In one season one of the berries could smother both tuteurs. I have to grow them down a fence to give them space. Your garden is sweet and pretty.
Can you share what color/type of wood or exact stain/sealer you used for your fence? I love the cool tones!! So many of the pressure treated wood has that warm, red/orange hue. Thank you!!!
May I suggest alpine strawberries for flavor…they are small, the size of your thumbnail, but the flavor….so sweet, so prolific, tastes like candy. And I keep finding ti ny plants popping up in different areas…love it
Excited to here your vision and plans for your gardens and property. Definitely subscribed and looking forward to seeing the progress. I love that dress. Would you please share your favorite seed and plant sources with us? What type of stone/gravel did you use in your potager garden pathways? I’m trying to decide on the exact product I want to use in my potager garden. Do you have a dedicated cut flower garden or do you cut flowers from all your gardens? Thanks
Thank you for subscribing! I made a couple of videos going over seeds that I’ve purchased for my garden and my favorite seed sources. I have several videos in the works going over my favorite online plant retailers. I always try to buy from local nurseries first, but if their is a plant I really want I’ll search for it online. My gravel is called Tuscan Pathway, and is locally sourced. Yes I plant cut flowers all over my garden at the moment. I love seeing them all around as the permanent plantings mature, and they are so beautiful I enjoy seeing them outside of a dedicated space. Last year my potager was planted heavily with vegetables, and this year I transitioned the space to perennial fruits, and more cut flowers that I wanted to protect from the deer.
Love your garden and love the terracing. We’re looking for bigger property and it looks like it’s not impossible to terrace a hill. What state and zone are you in?
A kitchen garden are any plants that have produce that you use in the kitchen. It is also located very near to the kitchen. Snobs and overly opinionated persons will add their own rules are what kitchen garden is. You can make a kitchen garden however you like and add other things to it like she added flowers. Her garden is a potager and kitchen garden at the same time.
Lovely! I save my finished sunflower stalks in the garden...they are very strong and are quite useful.

Two best ways to handle earwigs, Sluggo Plus or shake/tap the dalia blooms over a bucket every morning. Cheers

If we looked “too” closely we would sew our own garden problems. Your garden had challenges but you made a beautiful place!
So beautiful
I cannot even with this woman and her dress but also you go gurl Dayum that property is fucking fire!

New here and this is a beautiful garden
I like the big rocks , i think it looks more natural than the stacked stone. i do like stacked stone though.
Wow so charmed
I loved your video, you are a charming person, new subscriber, cordial greetings from Mexico City.❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!

Yes you may! I'd love to grow them, I think I have seeds around here somewhere... Thank you so much for the suggestion!
Love your garden! Where did you get your dress?
綺麗!!
So beautiful! 😻🌟🧚
I would have loved to see more of the plants.
Follow up video detailing all the plants in the kitchen garden and an update on the terrace coming soon!
I am so inspired! Everything is so beautiful. I also just have to know, what kind of grass do you have?
Thank you Samara! It is a mix between Kentucky Bluegrass and Perennial Rye.

A bit of Sluggo Plus once a week will save you much trouble with those earwigs. It's OMRI rated.
Where is your dress from? Gorgeous!
Love your garden and love the terracing. We’re looking for bigger property and it looks like it’s not impossible to terrace a hill. What state and zone are you in?
Thank you! We are in Washington state, zone 6b.
Those are some beautiful views! 😍 Where is this located?
Thank you! We are located in eastern Washington state.
@@HoneyHill Gorgeous!
How do you spell the wooden obelisks that your dad made? Tertour?
I need my nephew to build some! So beautiful!
Thank you so much! It is spelled tuteur.
How did you make the fencing for your garden? Its so pretty
Thank you! It is made from untreated cedar and wire mesh.
Hi! Where is your dress from? I just discovered your channel and who knows if you can tell me but I thought I’d ask anyways
parabéns que coisa mais linda de ver 🥰
Muchas gracias!
I couldn't discern what clematis, w the trumpet-shaped blossoms, you said was growing over your willow/vine arch support. Please, which is it? TY.
It is Clematis Betty Corning. 🪴
I love your dress! Where did you get it?
Thank you so much! It is from Doen a couple of summers back.
Did the diatomaceous earth work? Beautiful garden.
Thank you so much!
I didn’t notice a huge difference, unfortunately. I used oil and soy sauce and that seemed to work better.
Where did you buy your dress? It’s a beautiful dress
Thank you! It is from a brand called Doen.
Where do you live? It looks so beautiful!
Thank you! We live in eastern Washington state.
Very nice gardening, thank for sharing
I just subscribed and long-term interaction 🔔
what are the dimensions of your enclosure? All beautiful
Thank you so much Eileen, I can’t remember exactly, but rough estimate 16’x30’
💖💖🌞🌻🌞💖💖
I thought earwigs ate aphids, why do you want to get rid of them?
Earwigs chew on young foliage destroying seedlings and blooms.
😍😍🥰🥰🥰
I thought a kitchen garden was of mostly edibles and herbs not 90% flowers ? Am I wrong ?

I like your dress! So pretty! Where do you shop clothes?
The view will be gone from that beautiful space you made with 15 feet trees.
Unfortunately Diatomaceous earth harms beneficial insects as well including bees
Yes you are right, I’ve learned that since then. I no longer use it. 🐝
I’m terrified of earwigs. I will NEVER grow dahlias.
I am terrified of them too!
You're just so cute and darling.
So beautiful madam thanks for sharing 💕💕💕 i am your new subscriber hope you will also happy to join with me❤❤
