- Welcome guys and gals. So in this episode I'm really stuck on what to do, as after filling up the koi pond in the last episode, i was working away for a few days to come home and find the fibreglass leaks not really a surprise after the job that was done on it. What do we do now???

Keep going mate. You'll get it sorted.
Thanks bud hope so fingers crossed 🤞
Sorry to here you have a leak now don’t give up all the best 🙏🐟🐟🐟🐟🙏
Thanks Carol appreciate it 👍 🙏
Once the level stabilises you will know your leak is above that level mate so then you can look to repair above that level..maybe some more gel coat might seal it...just a thought😢
Sometime leaks only appear due to pressure mate,Id do the lot and have peace of mind..
Thanks bud yeh I found the leak in the end but because I'd put a load of ms300 on the pond I've opted for the ms300 liquid liner 🤞🤞
Never give up man, just think if you give up you’ve done all that for nothing. If you keep persevering the end will be so worth it and you have something to show off and enjoy 👍🏼
I appreciate that bud means alot 🙏 ❤️
@@keepingitkoi no worries my man, keep pushing 🤝🏼
Oh crap Jamie..
That's heart breaking about the fibre glass.
Honesty is best.... And if he didn't do the job right then you should mention it.
Is it possible to drain then silicone it yourself?
Fish in the main pond look absolutely awesome pal
@stubbsaquatics6080 thanks bud yeh I'm gunna try the ms300 liquid liner and see how that goes 👍😊
Good luck with the MS300 liquid liner Jamie…. 🤞🏼
Thanks bud 🤣🤣🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
I would have just found the leak then sand back, repair the fibreglass and re-topcoat it. That's the great thing about fibreglass - it's very easy to repair, once you have found the leak as long as you prep it properly
Thanks bud appreciate it but it was impossible to find I could see the damp round the back but that's not necessarily where the leak is as the water would have first had to find a gap through the kingspan and then the brick work could have been anywhere and I could find it. And last time I played with fiberglass I really made a mess of things😅 so gunna try liquid liner 👍
All Woow Jamie ❤.. pray u get it right bro.. which I know u will.. ❤
I really hope so bud and thanks 😊
Water pressure increases with depth, but it does not just act downward but in all directions, 0.465 (0.431 for fresh water)psi/ft, that is psi so almost half a pound for every square inch, i doubt that is causing your leak, but the drains are seeing more pressure than they were when sitting full of water with very little hydrostatic pressure acting upon them
No it's been fixed now it was the fiberglass leaking
@@keepingitkoi Glad you got it sorted, slight amendment to the water pressure, I gave the psi/ft for salt water, it’s 0.431 for fresh water that weighs 8.3 pounds per gallon.
Good evening jamie
When you do the ms 300 liquid liner would it be easier to do the back of the pond wall.Let it go off filled back up and see if it leaks.
Yeh could do but I may as well just do the whole thing then I know if it leaks its 100% the fiberglass and not the pipe work 👍
consider doing a coat of epoxy pond shield over the top. might fix the issue.
Thanks bud I've got some liquid liner now so gunna try that 👍
Sorry forgive my ignorance , but couldn't you dry it out and get it fibre glassed again? Or is that not a option?
@paulbarrett6093 I put loads of ms300 on it to try and patch it up so it would of had to be stripped right back and start again and I don't have the money for that 😞
Hoping the MS3000 liquid rubber version works for you! 🙏🏻
Thanks Maureen fingers crossed 🤞
Get a box weld liner in there ,
Thanks bud yeh I might do 👍
@@keepingitkoi I have a pond with 5000g in and never had a issue with box weld liner , also got window in , 2 bottom drains , and 2 returns
@@66koi yeh I have a boxweld in the main pond 👍
Did you ever watch mission impossible,Tom cruise scene where hs hovering a inch from the floor..😁😁
Haha yeh that would do it 😄
Drain it down completely, cover it over to let it dry out.
Sand it down and topcoat it again.
Surely the guy who fibreglassed the pond in the first place should put it right anyway.
@davidgreathead6109 thanks bud yeh if I hadn't put a load of ms300 all over it I might have 😅
cant you get him to come back and fix it.
No unfortunately not he wasn't impressed with my honest review of his shoddy work
@@keepingitkoi sounds like an idiot.
i had the same problem it need sanding back and 7 top coats of paint the paint is the water seal not the fibre glass looking at interior fibre glass walls they don t have enough paint on them this will solve the problem paint from the out side with roller
Yeh the fiberglasser was absolutely useless
ah so this si what you was on about on sunday. cant you get him back round to rectify it? hope so bud, be a shame to knock it down
@@Sharpeyskoi thanks bud hopefully I'll get it sorted 🤞
If you use the ms300 as directed by Carl I'm sure you'll have no problem. That's exactly the reason Carl invented the new version as he had the same issue on a sleeper pond he built at home. Worked a treat. Good luck
Thanks bud yeh I think I will 👍
@keepingitkoi good luck mate and keep us updated! Should name and shame the fibreglasser tho so none of us in the area get caught by him.
Leave it for two weeks and try to identify the final level.
@nikolaucznaum4312 thanks bud but because there is kingspan behind the fiberglass I can see several damp patches on the brick work and have been all over with a fine tooth comb but still can't find it 😞
@@keepingitkoi Good luck!
Just had the same thing happen to me last week. Had to grind out all the fibreglass on the floor then spend another few days re fibreglassing. Top coat now drying as we speak. Absolute nightmare. All my fish are in my grandads pond while I wait lol
Awww man sorry to hear that 😞 I certainly know your pain fingers crossed for us both 🤞
Just paint the whole thing with epoxy paint , 2 parts paint one part epoxy solved my issue 👌🏻
Thanks bud I'm gunna try this new liquid liner I think 👍
Sorry to hear this sad news Jamie 😢
I would paint over the fiberglassing with rubber pond paint Aqua Forte Impermax black pond paint
Thanks Cesca I'm gunna try the ms300 liquid liner see how that works 👍
Hi Jamie, it’s Luke the fibreglasser who did your pond on a gale force day. Instead of putting this on you tube, why didn’t you just contact me? And I would arrange a date to rectify it?
I have a really good record , top rated!
@lukejones1506 thanks bud unfortunately it's to late now but I'll drop you a message 👍
@@keepingitkoi not really answered my question. Why did you put iyoutube before contacting me? And basically slagging my business off?
Not cool at all.
@@lukejones1506Koitubers pull stunts like this. Avoid them.
If it was done right in the 1st place he wouldn't have done the video so only you to blame unfortunately
Call the gentleman back to redo the job free this time, sorry you have a leak, it must be very frustrating I know that from experience !
Thanks unfortunately he wasn't happy with my honest review of his shoddy work so that bridge is burnt 😅
@@keepingitkoi he is the one who lost out, if he had done the job properly, may have grown his business . Guilty as charged!
Don’t knock it down Jamie you put too much work into it ,so it would be a waste of money , liquid liner is probably the best way to go , just don’t give up .❤ 😊
Thanks Tina appreciate the kind words I'm not gunna give up just yet but sometimes I just feel I'm throwing money away on this 😅
Gutted for you Ikkle B buddy 🧁👍👍👍
@LeTwistedOne thanks vince 🙏 hope your well 👍
@@keepingitkoi still flying high from the weekend ikkle B tbh 🧁👍👍👍
Coat the walls with your liquid rubber, also doing around and in and around the bottom drain, then when youre out of the pond brush/roller on a pole do the floor, easiest way in my opinion matey
Just dont give up, youve invested to much money and time to knock it down.👍
Thanks bud your kind words mean a hell of a lot 😊👍
@@keepingitkoi we’ve all been there with our problems us koi folk, I’d rather help a fellow up than kick him whilst he’s down, you’ll get there 👍
@stevealexander6928 thank you 😊
Gutted for you mate, did you not have a guarantee with the glassing, guy I used gave a 25yrs guarantee, If that's not an option I think you will be good with the liquid liner, check Phil and Adès video out of when they done one last season, guy was in a similar situation to you couldn't find the leak the liquid liner solved it. Good Luck 🙏👍
Thanks bud yeh the guy that did mine didn't appreciate the honest review I did on here and didn't want any thing to do with me but then he shouldn't have done a shoddy job then the review would have been positive, but yeh gunna try the liquid liner 🤞🤞
Disheartening when you put so much work into building pond and to spring a leak at the end by someone else’s incompetence!
On a different note, have you ever found after fish have spawned they won’t eat?
@suemacdonald9623 Thanks for the kind words 🙏 and yeh they normally go off the food for a day or 2 but then back to normal as long as the water is good 👍
So sorry
Thank you appreciate it 🙏
Always something with these bloody fish isn't it mate if it's not the fish it's the ponds🤦🏽♂️really hope you get something figured out🤞🏼
Thanks bud your right there 👍
Name and shame that cowboy Jamie. he may start giving a toss about the job he is doing, when his custom dries up. I'm no expert but it Really does look patchy at the back. Hope you can get it fixed. I wouldn't trust him to do it though.
Thanks Carl once the pond is sorted I think I might just drop his name in again it is on the video where he actually did the Job but I guess people need to know who these cowboys are 👍
Just like cowboy fish dealers
@@dianebrandon1666 yep I've just experienced that. Going to try and get the video out on my channel today if not tomorrow.
You can do this Jamie, we all get fed up of trying sometimes but it will be worth all the headaches when your fish are in and you can sit back and think that looks great 👍. Gwen 🧓
Thanks Gwen I needed to hear that and your kind words are really appreciated 🙏 ❤️ 😊
Sheer determination 💪😁
