It is so thoughtful of you to minimize dishes for your boyfriend to wash! The arrangement in my house is that I wash the dishes 98% of the time because if I didn’t they would be sitting in the sink for weeks. If I had a house elf I would treat it soooo well.
I did not have Rhinebeck FOMO. I went to Wisconsin Sheep & Wool in September, and there are a number of popular vendors that go to both. Much cheaper and easier for me to go to the one that is more local! I will say that the attendance at WI seems to have increased exponentially since 2020, and I am a little nostalgic for the prior years when it was a better kept secret.

@@selfishknitter The BF doesn’t always get off so easy, but it’s definitely nice to have some help!
I would love to get out and explore more fiber festivals in other states. Going to Frederick Fiber Fest today helped quell the lingering FOMO for sure!

I really like the look of this year's MKAL shawl - can't wait to see what clue 4 will bring!

Oooh I want to look up the Frederick Fiber Fest! I forgot about that. I know I’m coming to the Hbg area either next weekend or the one after to visit my son in Mechanicsburg and some of my Hbg friends. I saw Flying Fibers at the festival yesterday. 🥰. It was fun but not a festival I need to attend every yr that’s for sure! I adore your color choices for the MKAL!

I love my Instant Pot! To me it makes life easier because I can use it to cook separate meals for me and my husband. I'm a vegetarian and he's not. For me, being able to cook 2 things somewhat simultaneously is better than cooking 2 meals back to back because they both need the oven. I also like that it's sooo much easier to make risotto in an Instant Pot than on the stove.

@@karchermakes I tried to post a link to a pressure cooker/instant pot risotto recipe from the NYT Cooking website and I think my comment may have gotten censored 😅. If it did, google: Pressure Cooker Porcini Risotto. It will be recipe from Lorna Sass, adapted by Mark Bittman. This is not the recipe I usually use, but I feel safe recommending it because Lorna Sass is a pressure cooker recipe legend. I love her "Great Vegetarian Cooking Under Pressure" (which has 2 risotto recipes that I've made and would recommend) and also "Cooking Under Pressure" (not exclusively vegetarian) books. My copies of both books are very well loved.

@@karchermakes You're welcome! I actually plan on making the NYT recipe soonish (prob this weekend). I picked up some dry wine for cooking and prob just need some more dried porcini to make it

@@karchermakes I tried the risotto recipe from the NYT Cooking website. It was good. If you have large pieces of dried porcini mushrooms, it would prob be better to use kitchen shears to cut them into small pieces. I just tore them up and it was hard to get them into tiny pieces. I actually found an 8 oz. bag of dried porcini for $11.25 from the Atlantic Spice Company website. I can highly recommend them. They have great prices on spices and other items, like dried porcini.
