“It Looked Different On the Model” could be the title of my memoir, but Laurie Notaro has already used this for a hilarious collection of essays. <sigh> I am learning as I go with sweater fit. My two most-worn pullovers are round yoke designs. I fear that sweaters knit in pieces and seamed together may end up being the best fit for my body. It is also disappointing how much swatching has actually saved me on a few occasions. 😅

I also don't like a lot of positive ease if any on my sweaters and tops. I'm busty, so adding extra inches just turns me into a blob. I do think that Weekender looks great on you though! Andrea Mowry has a Crew version of the Weekender she released last year- that might help with your modifications in the next one.

What is your opinion on using 100% acrylic yarn for knitting mittens?

Seeing all your colorful socks in your lazy way to care for handmade socks really made me want to learn to knit socks. I'd love to see a tutorial on making patterns. Now, I just need to learn the basics so all that makes sense. I've got to finish some crochet stuff first, but I'm determined to learn to knit some socks and hats.

It’s not the lazy way to wash socks, it’s the most time efficient so we can get more knitting in. Thank you for sharing how you do it, it makes things less scary for the new knitters 😊

Finish the shawl, but don’t let it rule your life. Maybe you could try to work on two rows per day, or 30 minutes, until it is done. I think a medium gray border would look nice around the blanket, but chartreuse would be more fun!

For your Stephen West shawl: will you wear it? Seems you may not be loving the process so if you would use the product, then finish, if not, I’d frog. Time is our most precious material.

Great color popportunity socks!! Your weaving is incredible! Congrats on the new sewing machine!! Very high tech. As for the SW shawl-I did power through and finish mine…I hated every minute of clue 4! I love the shawl and I think your colors are amazing! If it were me…(and of course it’s not! 😀) I would finish clue 3 and do an I cord bindoff. I would use it as more if a neck scarf vs a shawl! I think it would be very versatile that way and you could wear it every game day! Go Ravens 😉

For your Stephen West Shawl- I did the Twists and Turns and lost steam on clue 4. I powered through and finished it. Now I almost don’t even want to look at it. But I think I would have regretted ripping it out because I was almost done. I don’t regret finishing it. I love learning new things knitting Stephen’s patterns. I vote finish, but don’t do the large version. Your End Times Cardigan is growing 😮. You’ll have it finished in no time. Go with a neutral for the finishing.

Finish the Westknits shawl; I finished mine in April and you still have the rest of this month plus September before he comes up with the next one. I still need to finish the one from 2022 Lol. Thanks for sharing. idaknits27

1. I'd love to hear how to use a stitch dictionary to add variety to projects. 2. For the sweater I think a dark gray would provide a great frame for all the colorful triangles in the sweater. I think a color pop would drag your eye away from the triangles! 3. Finish the shawl - those colors are beautiful. I managed to finish clue 3 but got didn't start clue 4. He suggested doing some practice for that one and I got distracted and didn't start that. Will you join this October's MKAL? I'm considering it but haven't made a final decision. Your socks are gorgeous! (better color choices than Stephen's IMO).

I've always used my "wool"/delicates/cold wash cycle to wash my hand knit socks and then I just hang them by the toes to air dry or used my stacked mesh sweater dryer. Your End Times cardigan is going to be so beautiful! I'm torn between thinking a grey or a pale mauve/cameo/dusty rose as the contrast. With the SW KAL shawl, I love the colors and would finish to wear for game days. Your woven placemats are amazing! Great job on the gingerbread project bag - I love a really big project bag! For the sweater I would do a grey border, medium or light. For the shawl, if you would use the final product, finish it for sure. If you don't really like it or wouldn't use it, frog it, life and crafting time is too short and valuable to waste time doing something that doesn't speak to you or bring you joy. I enjoy watching your videos with all the different crafts you are in to. Looking forward to more content.

The shawl is beautiful. If you are leaning towards finishing it, do it. Another option is to see if anyone wants to finish it for you, maybe? For your sweater, a gray boarder would look good against all those colors. I love the gingerbread man bag!!

Would definitely be interested in a video on stitch dictionaries and how to incorporate them in projects. I think a charcoal grey or even a lilac grey would look good as a border for your sweater. You should finish your shawl because the colors are so beautiful and I think it will look so nice on you!

I love love love the End Times cardigan you are knitting! I think a medium to dark gray would look great for the finishing touches. Black would look great, too, but black is so hard to knit with.

I found that putting a stitch marker in the centre so I had 25 stitches on either side made it easier to catch glitches. I also counted the K1, YOs religiously cuz it’s so easy to miss a yarn over.

I bought the pattern, read the first clue and didn't want to do it. Thank you for the inspiration because now I do want to make them. I LOVE that triangle thing, I have so many scraps and need to make it.

Love the colors! I had to reacquaint myself with lifelines. I had lots of mistakes around the peaks of the chevrons that I just could not get back on the needles

I absolutely loved you going through your stash. I think you should have a video showing all of it off lol. As far as socks if you want to go with the theme Christmas in July, that would be a great one. But my favorite is the yellow with those purple minis. That is amazing.

I really liked your stash diving and thought processes Option 2 with your hand dyed bright yellow would be my first choice 💛 Second choice would be option 3 with water lilly,💙 and I also think the pink would be great, but as it's your favourite skein, I would keep it for something you know you'd love and wear alot 💗 I feel an MKAL is a bit hit and miss. The Christmas ones just don't pop as much and the neutral didn't really call Stephen West MKAL but that's just my opinion. Hope you have a great time and love the process and finished object🎉

The Pink would be my first choice as well, but the yellow would also be wonderful.
