    Woah the part when she said that we made up gender and we can un- make up gender, and how we make up race, and we can un- make up race. It hurts how true that is.

    I was surprised to hear Gloria accept the notion gender is a social construct when she was called out for saying trans people mutilate their bodies. If believing gender is a construct is part of feminism, you'd think she would've agreed to that a long time ago. I also didn't really get what Amadla meant when she said feminism is more than just fighting for women's rights, it's about taking apart the "system".

      Yeah my bad I was writing fast, like breaking stereotypes and gender roles and making it so that people can just be themselves without fear of judgement and discrimination

    Straightening your hair qualifies as hating yoursekf these days? Jesus.... it must be hard for Amandla living with that much privilege....

    • @lorrainemakasini137
      @lorrainemakasini137 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Listen to what she says. It’s not the fact itself that she was straightening her hair. It was the reason behind why she did it.

    Gloria Steinem? The same woman who said if we don't vote for Hillary Clinton we're going to hell? Can we do Amanda an honor and get her in a room with people who are actually great??

    • @labyrinthine24
      @labyrinthine24 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Charlotte Sanchez get over yourself. The work that Steinem has done is worth more than her silly comment. Nobody is a perfect feminist & that includes you. Plenty of great civil rights leaders have been problematic af such as MLK with sexism & Gahndi with racism.

    • @charlottesanchez8562
      @charlottesanchez8562 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rodriguez Lyanne Yes I agree with everyone has their flaws. I just found it odd for her to talk about white feminism in this video when she advocated for a candidate whose administration went after black communities dismantling thousands of black families. But I digress, I'm just suprised that she's still honored as this great fighter for women while still being transphobic, a former CIA agent who recruited anticommunists, anti- sex worker rights, and loves the oppression of the global south (only if its done by white women of course). Idk not my cup of tea. Not my type of feminism either.
