I’ve been playing fighting games for a bit and I think this is just about the best get-on-your-feet character guide I’ve seen. The way you explain the use of her combos, the situation she creates, and how to move forward from there is so clear. There’s no holes in it. You don’t just show her combos, you show what they *do*-how they build the first layer of her gameplay, and lay a groundwork for people to start thinking of how to add onto it from there. This is a really impressive video. You can tell it’s made by someone who cares about teaching people to play the character. Good shit.
One question I do have though-is it better for scaling to substitute dumping stocks (lmao) for DRC early in the combo, or as late as possible, like you do here?
This was probably the best fighting game guide I've ever watched. Simple to learn combos and progressively taught. Teaching how to setup and practice for oki is also great. I will probably take what I learned here not only to get better at Juri but other characters as well.
Man as a new player, these kinds of comments are so discouraging 😂. It took me like 3 days just to be able to 2mk into fuha consistently. I’ll just try to slowly chip away at this guide!
This guide is super helpful. I really struggle with maintaining pressure and tend to just reset to neutral to go back to fish for punishes, but that can get me blown up against players who can revert the pressure on me. I really appreciate you explaining WHY you would use these combos and not just showing them off and adding the notations, it really helps me understand the general oki/wakeup gameplan for every character, not just Juri. I mean, if I'm gonna be looking to get these combos off to keep pressure on them, they're gonna be doing the same with their similar combos, right? Appreciate the effort you put into these Kail, they really help a lot
I've been trying to find a main and played around with Juri today for a bit... popped onto youtube looking for a tutorial to get some sense since the combo trials aren't great for really learning a character. This is one of the best videos I've seen to really teach a character. The practice routes and suggestions for learning the basics and how they build upon each other is amazing. Well done.
Finally a good fucking video for a Juri guide, everything else that i've found just spits out combos with the notation without explanations, or without even telling me how am I supposed to even start the combo, and what to do afterwards. Also many many other videos just say "forget combos, practise the basics" and yeah, I understand that, but even when starting, at low level, if I just learn the basics, and I get pitted against someone with the same basics as me, but he can do combos and I can't, I'll probably lose. As an absolute noob that just started the FG journey with SF6, this video has been an excelent guide, I'll save it and come back to it regularly to practise the more advanced drills as I get better. The only thing left after this is what the fuck do I do with the level 2 super.
I know what helps me learn, and "just dont do combos and learn the basics" is great advice. My next question is: "Well...whos gonna teach me the basics?" haha. I need very concrete advice and instruction so thats why I made this video. "Do these combos, practice these pressure options. This will get you started!"
Dude. I love the way you break things down. I’m not trying to blow your head up…. But you completely changed the way I look at training ANY character in this game. THANK YOU! I wonder….. Maybe other character drill content? You are the SHIZ!
I normally don't comment on videos at all but this guide right here? Chef's Kiss. Excellent. Well thought out, clear notations, real fight examples, the whole nine yards. Thank you!
I never played fighting games before but something about SF6 drew me in but I wasn't sure if I would enjoy playing, about two week ago after seeing other people play the game I decided to get it myself and just try. I really loved Juri's design from the start so I wanted to try and learn her, first on modern controls since I thought I wouldn't get classic but a few days ago I jumped into combat trials on classic and to my surprise it didn't feel that bad, I'm still building up muscle memory but I'm having fun and it feels satisfying to learn. I saw your videos being recommended to me a few times before but always thought I was not ready yet to even think about improving my combos when I am still learning. But really just watching you do them and explain things just motivates me more to get to that point myself! So thank you for making videos like this!
I was super intimidated to try this character out, being new to the street fighter series, but the way you broke this down was perfect, managed to get down most of the combos first day .
Man this is the first street fighter that Ive been consistenty been able to complete all the combo trials. Glad theyve eased off the plinking and the 1 frame connect window between hits. This combo guide will definitely come in handy.
I haven't got the hang of everything in here (still working on the L.dp in the corner and framekill stuff), but this substantially upped my game. The best Juri guide I've seen!
Dude! I used to watch you back in SF4 for the Juri Content. Happy to see you're still doing your thing, and most of all, that you're still playing Juri!
Man I usual don’t comment on videos This is THE VIDEO that made everything click for me. Despite being a bit familiar with fighting games, this is my very first Street Fighter game. I decided to want to main Juri because people said she was good and also for OTHER reasons. I was overwhelmed with what moves and combo routes I was supposed to choose This video did an awesome job breaking down the combos that I used to be confused with. Now i’m also able to extend combos easily and put a lot of pressure in the corner
Great vid! Really appreciate how you decided to showcase combos that use very little or no resources first. Of course I know I can get big damage by using 6 drive bars and an SA3, but getting 20-30% that leads into good strike/throw oki is so much more useful. Also for beginners reading that don't know, you can cancel into e.saihasho from her other qcf moves to set up a meaty fireball automatically.
That’s something I never really looked to explore since I’m always afraid of not having stores. But since we can build stores and frame kill I should think more about it!
@@BigNastyKail I think I'm too low rated for not having stores to be an issue yet lol. No one in mid-Gold seems to try and punish me for stacking them.
I finnally did it!!! After a month! I mastered everything in this video. I took it slowly breaking the video in parts. I also kinda had too restart by buying a hitbox but man was it worth it!!!
Glad I could help! A lot of people have been asking for something like this. I always want to make content that people actually want to watch or need to improve their gameplay!
Blanka is my main character and has been since the start, but really liked Juri after testing and training abit. This really helps alot, thank you sir.
I started as Ken, struggled my way up to Platinum and loved it, then I decided between Cammy and Juri and took Cammy but not enjoying it that much, and NOW when I'm struggling to make any sense of the combo notations from supercombogg I find THIS masterpiece of a guide many thanks for this vid, I'll practice my fingers off with all this stuff, and bet it'll help me improve my Ken aswell (cause im totally gonna be going back to my main boi xD) as it gives a real good look into how OKI really works, normally I would just mash my way through OKI xD
Damn! Gonna main Juri now based on this tutorial alone! It's done so well... Haven't found anything close to this for other characters on YT (if anyone has, please link them) Thanks so much man!
Just picked up Diamond for the first time bro, huge thanks for these. Getting so much damage just on understanding a couple frame traps. If I learn better defense, we'll really start climbing.
glad it helped! I like to think of combos as functions of use or "Shells". Need to safe jump? I got a shell for that. Need to safe jump but need to push towards the corner? Shell 1 > Drive Rush > Shell 2. It helps organize my intentions and turns it into "action 1 > action 2" rather than fhp xx anken > fmp smk(2hits) xx drc (decide safe jump or double overhead after the knockdown) > chp, smk (2hits) smp chp shk xx hfuha.
this guide is fantastic! I've been trying to figure how to be more efficient with her and find out more things to practice and the youtube gods served me this masterpiece. Thanks so much for your guides Kail! They are super helpful and informative on leveling up
Always trust the algorithm! Make content people want to see, and YT will do so! With this guide in mind, if you ever catch any of my shorts you'll see me doing exactly these things to great effectiveness.
This is very helpful ive been trying to find different ways of working on my execution with juri. Time for me to get back in the lab and hit these up TYSM
damn clean guide ! now i just need to get more then 3 moves in my brain and and practise ..... i always feel so dumb that i cant keep track of combo strings at all xd
it took me probably a whole day to actually get the timing for that dash micro walk spacing for mp meaty but its already helping me in my game, i havent been using drive rush and drc in my game play much bc it aggravated my rsi but with the input change, its so much easier to implement for me into my game play now.
Subbed at 2:43. Thanks for this guide. I am Silver 4 with her and as a Ken main who is used to just Chin Buster into anything Juris combos can be a bit intimidating. Also thanks for all the Oki stuff i started working on this the other day and these drills really help a lot.
I usually pick good guys as my mains, but for SF6 I always find myself coming back to Yuri even if I suck with her xD Glad there are guides to improve on the internet
Thank you so much, such an interesting video between combos, situations, oki and pressure. I am learning Juri from you, other players and combo guides online. I kind of came to the same conclusion regarding oki etc however I had no one to confirm my thoughts. This is such a gift, it is Sunday morning in Australia and I know I am going to lab this today. Thanks so much! You legend!
Oh interesting I was scared to drop a video so late in the day (4pm in the states). Glad to see Australia is watching! Hope it helps, any questions hit me up
Very clear, well thought out guide. I’m a diamond Juri who got there based only on fundamentals and some juri basics, and I can definitely use all of this to take up to master. Thanks!! Liked and subscribed
Hey I've been watching your videos and really think you are doing a good job trying to understand what people want to see and give good tools for people to grow with! Thanks for your good work you do, and hopefully you will keep growing as a creator, you rock!
Love this guide, as a new player I've been struggling to do most of special moves consistently and have switched over to modern controls as a result. Can you please make a modern controls guide for this!
It’s 5am I’m currently up at night still try to finish this video I haven’t even gotten through the intro yet but my determination drives me to keep pushing
Thanks for getting this i fo out! Another good setup after a M. FUHA or L. DP you can do in the corner (or if the oponent doesnt wake backwards) is 6 MP -> 2 HK, which opens up to good hurting combos
Just what I needed! I doubt I'll be able to use or apply all of these but I'm def taking notes from this video to improve my Juri game a bit, thank you!
You got this! Take one thing at a time. Start off with the first combo and then work your way up to dashing after it. After that, try the next combo...then work your way up again. You'll grow, struggle, grow, struggle...its part of the process!
@@BigNastyKail I also wanna say that I like how these are definitely doable since the combos seem simple enough, as well as the fact that most of these are setups as opposed to like extremely long combos. My biggest hurdle would probs be trying to get the timing right for anything related to Juri's medium punches tbh lol
@@Lexicon865 I like to think of these combos as pieces to a bigger picture. You can take any of these combos and augment them based on the situation. That’s why I think they’re a great way to build up to
And even after you get all this down, there is just so much someone can do to make it unique to themselves :0 Truly an amazing guide that has points that can be applied to characters besides Juri- not like I’d ever do that, though. Juri = better I know I say this every time, but I’m actually going to sit down later and just go through a bunch of Juri stuff. Her guide, her combo trials, and a bunch of your videos. I’m learning Juri this time, boys 😎 No more Cammy, Jamie, or Luke. It’s time for the Queen whom almost killed me because I gave her 16 wrenches :D
Now this is the kind of beginner video I was looking for. I had searched "basic juri combos" and got some level 2 madness lol. This is great work man. This is going to help me a lot. I guess this probably goes without saying but what you're showing is just a strike/throw mix, at what point would you consider adding in 2MK or jumps to add a high/low factor as well? Or is the strike throw just more than enough?
Strike throw literally is enough to get you to diamond… but it is the beginner side to it. I have a few ideas on the next part but I’m always thinking about the best way to present it. I like my videos to expand as you watch so the concepts can stick with you. It’s how I learn personally. So strike > throw > reversal > shimmy is how I like to think of it. It’s not always a guarantee in flow but if you strike and you counter hit them they block. If they block they can be thrown. If they can’t do either they reversal. When they can’t reversal they go back to start. If they want to throw you shimmy!
I can see now thay i was doing sub optimal damage with her, because i never cash out on the stocks, but this gave me a good idea on how to mix your options to keep stock both in use and charge it back mid offence instead of walking back to charge, imma do this drills at least twice a day from now on
Hahaha. I was really worried about this thumbnail and was like "good enough". Then I looked at it on youtube and went "oh hey, you know what...not bad...". The other version had blood stains on the greenboard but I was afraid youtube wouldn't like that!
So glad I found this guide I was getting my ass whooped at this game and I was so close to being knocked off of silver 2. Now I just got my first double perfect victory and I'm only gonna get higher. Finna train these combos so I have more tools.
Great video! Really appreciated as a low rank player :) AT 4:05 is it just me messing things up or sMP > cMP xx M.Fuha > LFuha (whiff) corner setup doesn't let you throw afterwards? I find myself spaced too far and my throw whiffs, but sMP still hits meaty.
thanks for the video, I discovers lot of the things you explained while labing but it's still good to see some variations like usage of full fuha stock that I didn't cash out like this... but I saw you can cancel jump HP with jump Hk within the same jump in FSE at the end of the vids... that's some kind of techs I want to learn, could you do a video for more advenced techs please? thanks
Ah yea thats a staple combo for Juri. Jmp, jhp, jhk. I have a video on basic fse combos. Its from the beta, but mostly still applies. th-cam.com/video/EiMaHqU21mc/w-d-xo.html

Blanka is my main character and has been since the start, but really liked Juri after testing and training abit. This really helps alot, thank you sir.
I started as Ken, struggled my way up to Platinum and loved it, then I decided between Cammy and Juri and took Cammy but not enjoying it that much, and NOW when I'm struggling to make any sense of the combo notations from supercombogg I find THIS masterpiece of a guide
many thanks for this vid, I'll practice my fingers off with all this stuff, and bet it'll help me improve my Ken aswell (cause im totally gonna be going back to my main boi xD) as it gives a real good look into how OKI really works, normally I would just mash my way through OKI xD
Damn! Gonna main Juri now based on this tutorial alone! It's done so well... Haven't found anything close to this for other characters on YT (if anyone has, please link them) Thanks so much man!
I wish I had the time to do this for other characters!
for sure the best combo video I have found so far. Everything is optimal and gives a gameplan. Legend
Thanks bro fr, love guides like these
Just picked up Diamond for the first time bro, huge thanks for these. Getting so much damage just on understanding a couple frame traps. If I learn better defense, we'll really start climbing.
This is guide is sooo good.
glad it helped!
Take it one step at a time. How do you walk 50miles? 1 step at a time.
I can't believe you don't have more subscribers, this guide is REALLY good
At the same time i'm praticing to play as Juri, i'm praticing my english because my ADHD won't help me to pay attention...
Man this is sooo helpful, been struggling with meaties in low plat, will absolutely train all this stuff !
If you’re having a problem timing your meaties start off with these and then work your way up to manual timing situations!
@@BigNastyKail Yeah i'm still wayy too bad for manual timing :D
@@huibiit lemme offer a different outlook: you just haven’t practiced them yet!
@@BigNastyKail Absolutely ! Thank you for your positivity!
Bro... Fantastic guide; thank you very much! The editing, examples, and explanations are on point. You nailed it with this.
it took me probably a whole day to actually get the timing for that dash micro walk spacing for mp meaty but its already helping me in my game, i havent been using drive rush and drc in my game play much bc it aggravated my rsi but with the input change, its so much easier to implement for me into my game play now.
Once you get it, you’ll have it. But drive rush if you need to!
Eventhough is frustrating to do the combos, this training method is really helping me
Subbed at 2:43. Thanks for this guide. I am Silver 4 with her and as a Ken main who is used to just Chin Buster into anything Juris combos can be a bit intimidating. Also thanks for all the Oki stuff i started working on this the other day and these drills really help a lot.
This is peak content man. Good job.
Kind words! Thanks friend!
I usually pick good guys as my mains, but for SF6 I always find myself coming back to Yuri even if I suck with her xD
Glad there are guides to improve on the internet
ik this comment old as shit but she’s korean so the j in her name is just a normal j, so not pronounced like russian juri but “joo-ree”
Thank you!! This is genuinely so useful, I can never time meaties on my own
Hey I've been watching your videos and really think you are doing a good job trying to understand what people want to see and give good tools for people to grow with! Thanks for your good work you do, and hopefully you will keep growing as a creator, you rock!
You're the GOAT, Kail! Keep that top tier Juri content coming man 😄
You already know! I'm tryna keep them coming but life is wild!
Love this guide, as a new player I've been struggling to do most of special moves consistently and have switched over to modern controls as a result. Can you please make a modern controls guide for this!
You would be better off practicing modern controls
Ill definitely take this under consideration!
When I play fighters, I go for the optimal max damage conbos for each situation. Gotta make their mistakes hurt hard. Good stuff!
Can’t make their mistakes hurt hard if you can’t do the combos. This guide I hope helps with that!
this is the best Juri guide i have found so far, thanks!
I'm gonna have a field day with this, buddy 👀
Thank you
I really hope it helps! It was kind of messy… but I’m glad it’s done.
@@BigNastyKail messy and done is ALWAYS better than perfect, this is a great resource for learning Juri, my man! You did great 😃
Bro u are actually my inspiration, i've learnt so much tech just by watching ur vids, awesome work dude!
Thanks, gonna be checking this out and labbing
Any questions lemme know!
@@BigNastyKail yup , I appreciate you. If you ever wanna know Chun stuff I’m pretty knowledgeable. Just an old head 💤
You're a really good teacher/coach Kail!
Kind words dude, I'm trying. Its hard these days tho...haha
It’s 5am I’m currently up at night still try to finish this video I haven’t even gotten through the intro yet but my determination drives me to keep pushing
go to bed!
@@BigNastyKailthank you but I will not give up 🙏🏿
Don’t give up. Just allow your brain time to recover like a muscle after a work out.
Just got to plat so stumbling upon this is gonna get me out in no time . Thanks G
Great explanation of fuha setups and which normals to use even on slight distance differences. Well done!
Thanks for getting this i fo out! Another good setup after a M. FUHA or L. DP you can do in the corner (or if the oponent doesnt wake backwards) is 6 MP -> 2 HK, which opens up to good hurting combos
6mp > 2hk? Did you mean 2HP?
That’s why I think they’re a great way to build up to
You make it look so easy. All these take time to master.
The recording for this video was over 3 hours. Trust, it’s not easy…. But you can do it!
I really appreciate your reply and this video. I'm going to Evo so hopefully I get to meet you.
@@thegamingniceguy3181 I won’t be at evo. I’m gonna try and make it to ECT tho.
This is one of the best guides I’ve seen. Please do the modern control version that would be amazing
Thank God
I benched Juri thinking I won't get anywhere with her due to laziness in execution 😤
Very good guide. I just started playing Juri.
And even after you get all this down, there is just so much someone can do to make it unique to themselves :0 Truly an amazing guide that has points that can be applied to characters besides Juri- not like I’d ever do that, though. Juri = better
I know I say this every time, but I’m actually going to sit down later and just go through a bunch of Juri stuff. Her guide, her combo trials, and a bunch of your videos. I’m learning Juri this time, boys 😎 No more Cammy, Jamie, or Luke. It’s time for the Queen whom almost killed me because I gave her 16 wrenches :D
Great guide! Just bought sf6 today and picked Juri up. Will try your drills tomorrow! :)
This video helped me out a lot im new to SF and these drills saved me a lot of time. Thank you
Juri combo practices.
I call that “Juri Duty”
😀
Bars!!!
Incredibly helpful guide. Really appreciate the hard work that goes into this! Thanks a milly.
Just downloaded this game and I’m so excited to learn. I appreciate you Kail. Got a new sub.
Dude thank you for this ive gotten way better with her now
This is great content. Next you could talk about safe jumps and punishing reversals with optimal DR starters :)
Oh interesting. I made a video on SF4 Juri a long time ago about how to punish every special move...maybe I should do this?
@@BigNastyKailwould be a sick idea, you are a 🐐 Kail to all the Juri players out there
I can see now thay i was doing sub optimal damage with her, because i never cash out on the stocks, but this gave me a good idea on how to mix your options to keep stock both in use and charge it back mid offence instead of walking back to charge, imma do this drills at least twice a day from now on
Best thumbnail Best content bro
Hahaha. I was really worried about this thumbnail and was like "good enough". Then I looked at it on youtube and went "oh hey, you know what...not bad...".
The other version had blood stains on the greenboard but I was afraid youtube wouldn't like that!
Very nice video. I am currently at plat4 with juri and was looking for something like this. Thank you.
So glad I found this guide I was getting my ass whooped at this game and I was so close to being knocked off of silver 2. Now I just got my first double perfect victory and I'm only gonna get higher. Finna train these combos so I have more tools.
The tutorial everyone needs to watch!
This is the best type of video.
Thank you master you and JAk doing God's work
QueenJAK is too goated
exactly what i was looking for, and very well structured. thanks
Great video! Really appreciated as a low rank player :)
AT 4:05 is it just me messing things up or sMP > cMP xx M.Fuha > LFuha (whiff) corner setup doesn't let you throw afterwards? I find myself spaced too far and my throw whiffs, but sMP still hits meaty.
Ah that may be the case huh? I’ll try it out when I get home. Even more of a reason to use tensenrin. Haha
Guide with modern controls would be awesome I use both but I am leaning towards modern
Whichever you choose, give it your all!
thanks for the video, I discovers lot of the things you explained while labing but it's still good to see some variations like usage of full fuha stock that I didn't cash out like this...
but I saw you can cancel jump HP with jump Hk within the same jump in FSE at the end of the vids... that's some kind of techs I want to learn, could you do a video for more advenced techs please? thanks
Ah yea thats a staple combo for Juri. Jmp, jhp, jhk. I have a video on basic fse combos. Its from the beta, but mostly still applies. th-cam.com/video/EiMaHqU21mc/w-d-xo.html
This video rocks man thank you!
Appreciate it! Hope it helps you!
yea, we gonna add this to the favorites so that we can come back every training session
