Even with the rain a goodnight was had by all. When I was about 12 myself and some friends. built a bonfire on a green opposite my house. The bonfire we constructed had a cavity in the centre which we used as a den. One night, before the 5th November we thought it would be a good idea to sleep in the centre overnight. Halfway through the night we suddenly smelt smoke and realised the bonfire was alight. We assume some drunken soldiers set it alight on their way back to barracks. It was a very close call that we didn't end up as Guy Fawkes effigy did.
People were advised not to travel to Lewes (pronounced loo es) as now gets too crowded, for a few years now the train service to the station has been suspended at 17:00 hrs. Hiking boots a better choice than wellies for walking any distance and muddy/wet ground.
@@gmdhargreaves Hi ! I`ve never been to the festival in San Sebastian - but can well believe what you say. I`ve never been to a poor one yet. The most `riotous` one yet I`ve been to is Las Fallas de Valencia. The largest in the country - but not the best I`ve been to, in my opinion.
Great video Yvette !, i would highly recommend the spectacular torchlight procession ( around 40,000 with all profits going to charity ) in Edinburgh at Hogmanay (3 day celebration at New Year) as seen in the thumbnail walking down the Royal Mile , there can't be that many bagpipers in Cranleigh 😂
We were there yesterday, my Mum and I, i thought the display was absolutely fantastic, first time we went, and will NOT be our last, amazing it was a free event! We were lucky with the weather, during the display no rain at all! :D
You are the best.❤️

Anyone outside the UK must think this is mental! And it is!!!!!
Except, perhaps, in Spain - where this would be laughable.
@@dogwithwigwamz.7320 San Sebastián has a week event that is the best in the world in my opinion

The past three videos of yours have been locked to 480p or 360p, is this an issue you are aware of?
It’s pronounced Loo Wes, also Firle is a very good one just outside Lewes.
Ah yes, bonfire night, celebrating the last time someone went to Parliament with any honourable intentions. :)
I live in Guildford and it was pouring. I felt sorry for Guy Fawkes celebrations as no one would turn up.
