Some historical background would be really interesting. Not sure if that would give the game away. But even just something about the type of bunkers, purpose they were used for etc.
@Wandy Wexler Weslon , as posted elsewhere on TH-cam, in Britain during the Cold War, some such air raid shelters were turned into homes. Soviet spies were always at work trying to locate the Cold War air raid shelters. Sometimes, the Soviet spy system succeeded. Sometimes British counterespionage would find out about various successes of the Soviet spies. If the British knew that the Soviets has come to know about a location, that location no longer had good enough Cold War value because it could potentially have become targeted by the Soviets, so the compromised Cold War air raid shelter and the land that it sat on was typically given back for free to the original landowner of the land that had been purchased by the government for unspecified use. The bathroom areas were typically poorly lighted, so frequently after return to civilian ownership, the new civilian owner would too often pay a some local construction company to knock a hole in the bathroom's exterior wall and put in a window so that the poorly lit bathroom would have enough light during the daytime for cosmetic usages such as shaving or applying makeup. Ideally, a larger percentage of the population would have had their own individual top-rate mechanically intact air raid shelter as a result of the cycle of Soviet espionage and British counterespionage. From the point of view of hindsight, unusually high quality foresight in bathroom lighting would have resulted in more civilian-owned air raid shelters being mechanically intact, rather than being mechanically compromised due to the civilian owners paying to have a hole knocked into the bathroom's exterior blast wall in order to have a bathroom window installed. If you go poking around TH-cam, you will probably find more details about what long ago became civilian-owned air raid shelters in Britain due to the old cycle of Soviet espionage and British counterespionage that occurred decades ago during the 20th Century. Also, the Cold War ended about 30 years ago, so some related British government Cold War documentation might have recently become public record under the 30-year rule.

This is a Lithuanian site, not Soviet. Lithuania broke off from the Soviet Union in 1990. The one large bulletin board is in Lithuanian, and is entitled "pagrindiniu civilines sauces veikshi", which means "key civil protection actions". The columns are "Name of Action", "Execution Time", "Responsible Actors", and "Execution Duration". with sub columns for "Starting Hour" and "Hours". So this looks like a civil defense bunker, possibly part of nuclear war preparations. It looks like primarily housing for government officials, with no actual command and control infrastructure, other than the simple manual plotting boards discovered.
The large sign with the bar graph at 5:11 says, ominously, "Harmful substances were released into the atmosphere in Lithuania in 1989" The graph scale is in thousands ("tukst") of units, so 431 thousand of something, possibly units of radiation. were released. That was the year Russia made its final push to clean up the Chernobyl site, so possibly an accidental, unrecorded (in the West) release happened that satellite states set up monitoring for.
Any Green Soviet gas mask filter have 0% asbestos. They used Charcoal filters after the 1970's. The Tan filters are the asbestos filters, and it isn't 'lethal' smoking 1 cigarette would be more lethal than using a 5 minute filter.
It was impressive that you were able to start the generator. It is also impressive that the air was breathable. This video, specifically the audio editing, was unintentionally funny. Shiey: I found a bunker with power Also Shiey: Flicks every switch. .... I swear, one Day Shiey’s gonna flick a switch and hear “Countdown initiated...”
Anything with any kind of count down initiated, would either be completely broken down, deliberately back when it was being abandoned, cleared off anything that could be activated by said countdown, or still used and heavily guarded.
The fisheye lense makes it harder to see close details in addition to being unstabilized, this is already interesting enough and doesn't need a fisheye to make it feel cooler
God damn. These soviets were smart af. They were prepared. So prepared, in fact, that large numbers of people would have survived any attack that any nation would have thrown at them, for a little while at least. They were ready with hundreds of secret bunkers and secret equipment, so secret that I'm sure that there are still many undiscovered bunkers. While we were teaching our kids how to hide under a desk properly, they were already prepared.
Watching these videos, I'm in awe of the resources devoted to cold war on both sides. I can't even imagine how much better our lives would be if those resources were applied to their respective populations

Showing you everything that was in the room frame by frame it would be a 200hour video if he didnt?
I remember first watching your videos 3 years ago when i was in high school, still rewatching them.
Awesome video as always!
On 2:10 you can see the door on the very back something passes by put it on .25x speed and you'll seee itt!!!
Good catch. I thought I saw something too upon my first time watching it. Wonder if some other people are down with him
I think it's just a reflection from the light he's holding
Bryan Garcia that’s just lighting from his flashlight
So, this is where my parents taxes went.
Templars are everywhere
@@ahslanabanana можно кстати и по русски
0:52 is how the movie should start if they ever film Metro 2033
Respect from ITALY!
Love these type of videos, keep up the great work.
Amazing ! Greetings from New Zealand
The diesel generator and quality of lighting is impressive.
Pretty cool.
I love the sound in the video! Sounded authentic and foreboding! Clip edits are great, too. Just could have focused on the machines for a few seconds, for us engineering-types to enjoy!
This seems moderately maintained. Have a hard time believing it’s been long time abandoned and has electricity, operable valves, flowing water, and operable electric motors...
Alexander Rullo don't quote me on this but I believe it's a tourist spot.
i mean Soviet tec built to last through a possible nuclear war
Alexander Rullo
Nothing gets seriously broken if you leave it alone.
From what i can read from those posters this is a lithuanian evacuation shelter in the case of nuclear explosions.
This is one of your best videos. I love the bunkers and with the cuts and sound editing, it makes it seem all the more spooky. Hope you are doing well......
1:09 at the moment i thought that shit gonna blow up
And also i'm wondering how the hell he finds places like that?
Nothing can scare this man. I know that if I flipped that switch and all of a sudden that loud ass machine turned on I would probably actually die from getting jumpscared so hard.
Youve done some mad shit over the years dude, i would love to go on these adventures. Madness
Ok this was around 1960,now i want see a powered underground command bunker in russia from this year 2019 !
it was 1989-1990
The large sign with the bar graph at 5:11 says, ominously, "Harmful substances were released into the atmosphere in Lithuania in 1989" The graph scale is in thousands ("tukst") of units, so 431 thousand of something, possibly units of radiation. were released. That was the year Russia made its final push to clean up the Chernobyl site, so possibly an accidental, unrecorded (in the West) release happened that satellite states set up monitoring for.
2:10 ghost
Carlos Acosta wtf
MELANIE SANCHEZ at the end of the hallway.
It's him breathing !
Great, well spotted
I see what you are talking about but there’s a light flare on the lens at the same time so it’s hard to tell
I would have nabbed one of those gas masks as a souvenir
Sarah the filters do but the masks themselves are fine
Any Green Soviet gas mask filter have 0% asbestos. They used Charcoal filters after the 1970's. The Tan filters are the asbestos filters, and it isn't 'lethal' smoking 1 cigarette would be more lethal than using a 5 minute filter.
Ehh, many filters are chemically treated and they have expiration date. Maybe not dangerous 😕
It was impressive that you were able to start the generator. It is also impressive that the air was breathable.
This video, specifically the audio editing, was unintentionally funny. You added creepy sounds, but it was done in an impatient manner so the creepiness never had time to sink in. I had fun watching it.
Shieys bunker exploring videos are all with gasmask, as i see.
@ 1:05 just casually walks towards a seemingly inactive grey robot?
that empty stare in his white eyes...
some of the coolest content I've ever seen, always love coming back and seeing what's new, what's old, what's popular
Can you please post an unedited version of this video?:)
" get out of here stalker"
This has to be one of the best channels on TH-cam. I’m hooked
Watching these videos, I'm in awe of the resources devoted to cold war on both sides. I can't even imagine how much better our lives would be if those resources were applied to their respective populations
It seems as if nothing has changed, especially with NATO and its US puppeteers whipping up the war frenzy in Ukraine and the South *China* Sea.
>free water
>free electricity
>uploads this video
Why? You could just live in there for ree
As a Cold War veteran, this is very interesting. Thank you for sharing.
