That's what they said about the existing Keystone pipelines... and if I recall, they have leaked over 20+ times thus far, with 4 being the most significant in terms of barrels. Great to know it's not what Faux News portrays opposition to the XL to be; a bunch of yahoo environmentalists and Native Americans wanting this shut down... but even die hard conservatives in that region who do not want pipelines going through their properties.

Getting angry about something doesnt mean someone else is gonna go fix it; there are so many videos with comments like, "activists said this would happen and it is!" but they fail to recognize that they didn't get anything done by talking about it. A real activist actively works against the thing they are against instead of saying, "I told you so, and that means I'm so smart that I should be the only one to have say in anything as all my feels are obviously the correct feels."

A pipeline easement does not "take the land". A pipeline easement only gives the right to install, operate and maintain a pipeline. A pipeline does not take away a ranchers ability to use his land. As part of the pipeline construction the right of way is compacted, leveled and reseeded. Within a year it is inspected by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to ensure the proper reclamation of the land. After the pipeline is put in service it is surveyed by air or ground as often as monthly mandated by federal regulation, these surveys are to monitor the condition of the pipeline right of way . The rancher drinking coffee and looking out his window will see no change to his land scape after construction is complete. If he looks very closely he will only see a few 3 foot tall pipeline markers placed every 500 feet along the pipeline. He complains about eminent domain but he doesn't complain about the eminent domain that allowed an electrical utility company to build a powerline to bring electricity to his ranch. If he doesn't like eminent domain he should heat his coffee water on a wood fire.

This Rancher is complaining about a pipeline that is going to built across his land because oil will be flowing inside the pipe that may or may not have a oil spill. However he is driving around in a pickup truck that uses gasoline to run on. It you don't want a pipeline being built on your land, then you shouldn't be driving a vehicle that runs on gasoline. The pipeline is needed if people like him are going to continue using gasoline.
