    He was almost over $100, but now he's at $222 after I pitched in $123 💖 I look forward to this project! 😁

    I bought my first NSPanel about a year ago. And then some more. Until now I didn't install any of them because my total renovation is still ongoing. I thought a couple of times that "now" it's time to learn the details. Good luck I never learned what I won't need anymore. I guess in a month or two I will really have to do it. Thanks to you and everybody else in the community!

    So two months later, how is this working out? Seems like this project is not going anywhere... Kickstarter failed to meet goal, and no new news I can find anywhere. Since you seem to know the developer, maybe you can make a video on this with updates on the status of this project.

    Hey,
    This may be an asset in the future but currently it is just a fancy control of lights. This is usually not what a home assistant user expects because there the integrations are quasi unlimited. I will replace my current NSPanel controls with that manager only when the capabilities of the HA blueprint and NSpanel UI are clearly surpassed in functionality. Right now, I don't see the advantage and a touch display that mostly sleeps (black) is a useless black box on the wall for housemates and visitors. They prefer mechanical switches that always work and don't need a manual.
    Regards

      Totally agree. I was quite disappointed. As for now this is just a fancy light switch. I use home assistant at my home and I dont control any lights so this is of no use for me. I use HA for energy monitoring, controlling heating, car charging, and controlling the water heater. The positive thing is that is was easier to install than installing the HA blueprint.

    I have done some fun stuff with my NSPanel, including fan/light controls, RGB bulb controls, coffee maker triggers, etc. Wish I had this a year ago, would have saved me many hours of programming/testing.

    This is the most amazing panel work done so far, I love what Erik and Tim are doing, I wish they will clone this for NS PANel PRO, days ago Erik told me it is not in the scope for now, I’m building my zigbee net. Here the WiFi is not great

    i love the nspanel running ESPHome but its brutal keeping it updated, this looks a far easier way to manage it.

      What’s so difficult about updating it? How often do you have to update?

    • @dpo2183
      @dpo2183 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would update inline with new releases as much as possible or else you would find updating HA could turn into a game of chance whthere or not the NSpanel would still be working@@charliemortonmusic

    I don't understand this. No use of the hard buttons? Interface looks old and outdated. No use of the internal termostat? In Home Assistant with the Blueprint you can easy upload the tft also. I look forward to what they will come up with tho. Nice of only two people to fix this! Keep up the good work!

    Love if they can add a tab for smart trvs, so in the set room it is in it can adjust it from the panel.
    I get thermostat controls but in many houses it doesnt make sense having them on all panels

    Would the thermostat also work? Just asking because i plan to replace my old stupid ones by this and it would be good to be able to control the heating in my home by this like it is mentioned in the standard specs

    I just started with HA a couple of weeks ago. Been doing homeseer for 30 years but now really happy with HA. I watched your previous videos on flashing the NS panel and then using the HA blueprint. I finally made that work after a little bit of effort to get the initial flash done. I now have an addition to the NS panel. I got NS panel Pro. I have two questions. 1. should I forget the NS panel pro and get the older panels instead? 2. Should I use this new manager that you spoke about in this video or should I stick with using the blueprint?

    Is there Portrait Version or this is made for 86x86 european landscape panels? All projects already have their portrait mode versions. You cant start without this, because you lost adherence from portrait owners. you can feel this perspective in other projects. When one project developed the portrait version, those who did not offered until than, lost adopters. now every project have it!!! Just a "simple as that" tip for you.

    I am watching the live stream but wanna mention a point I am missing cause I was thinking to use this as a switch and also nice display for HA function / switches cause I would like to show some data like W and kWh used today from a SonOff Switch called PowR Elite which also measures W, A, V and consumption.
    I want to use that next to the Wallbox to turn on the SonOff PowR Elite Switch which than turn the wallbox on. And if that charging will start I should see the W going up and also showing the kWh used today at least.
    But that would require to retrieve SonOff data to display or update them there which could / should be possible with the mqtt manager for sure at least somehow .
    If that would be impossible I would not wanna buy one of these cause I had thought about them as Manager beyond the pure administration of lights alone.
    I simply do not use SonOff for lighting tasks cause I have already XIaomi bulbs and strips and what not for years.
    Would be nice if that will be possible in the future for example new year or so cause I am not in a hurry, but I need a simple display at the wallbox cause currently I have no display for such data. I also might wanna use that to run different charging profiles like only surplus charging (which means solar power surplus available or SOC of home battery > 66%) or for example max. Charging which then would go up to 11 kW instead of 1,3 kW at lowest charging profile.

      There are plans for manually added entities through MQTT but as you can imagine, it is not a priority at the moment.

    Why is this a Kickstarter???? Why not open source this and have the commmunity jump in and help build it!!! Sucks this will never see the light of day, but It would be nice if some people could get together and start setting up the bones of this and have open source community to help... I am not a software engineer, so no idea how to start that process. I write scripts and some small, non complicated programs, but no where near being able to start this, lol.

    • @MarkWattTech
      @MarkWattTech  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are doing just one panel I think esphome would be better as you can more freely tinker with it. If you are doing several and just want easy deployment and control then this is the way 👍🏻

      I use a framing hammer to punch holes in the drywall a wire fish and a drill to pull Romex. The best trick is to use 20 minute drywall mud to fill the holes to just below the surface and regular mud to finish. Simple and no video required.

    maybe it is too early but ....
    1. UI is really bad. Sonoff did a better job with their UI. you can't go back
    2. All they show is light control. There is nothing "Home-Assistant"-y that makes you say "yes. finally. these guys get it."
    if you ask me.... NSPanel 2 should be based on the new TX Ultimate switch with features from the NSPanel. it should have bluetooth proxy WHICH IS EASY to include... and a light sensor.
    forget about the NSPanel and the NSPanel Pro. they were beta devices and Sonoff doesn't play well with others. they are trying to create their own "eco-system" in which they are failing terribly because no one cares.

      I've been a way for a while and not spoken with the developer for this project in that time. I imagine though that was a value he chose to make the time he has spent on the project worthwhile.
