    Raise your free shipping. I followed in your footsteps and started at $35. My free shipping is now at $75. Surprisingly a lot of large $75 orders come in for the free shipping.

      It is always a risk buying so much at once. I have found errors but also errors in my favor. Most buyers on Bricklink are understanding and glady accept a refund. If they don't, then you just block those buyers and never deal with them again.

      @@PopsBlockShop I’ve had good luck with almost all our buyers too. Mistakes happen. Congrats on the purchase!! If we didn’t have two full time jobs I know we could get to over two million parts. I’m working on minifigs for our next show in October. C u at brickworld Grand Rapids and detroit

      @@PopsBlockShop no kidding. Wow. Yeah your prices are hard to beat. They shouldn’t gouge the vendors so hard. That’s part of the reason the public comes. $200-$300 for a weekend is reasonable. You get to $500 or more for a booth and you have to sell way to much product just to break even. Not to mention gas, food etc. anyway c u soon

    I was surprised how fast you added the new inventory and was thinking that you were pretty trusting of the quantity. Also the odd numbering system would drive my crazy but I see you set it up to move quickly.
    That “leave in mailbox” message made me laugh. I don’t know what some people are thinking sometimes.
    I’ll be curious to see if you can tell when people are riding from the Bricklink moc popup store. Those make for some time consuming low cost orders I think

    • @PopsBlockShop
      @PopsBlockShop  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      The three main factors that had me pull trigger. 1. Cost 25% of value(so I could price a little lower) Taking on all risknto sell the LEGO 2. Ease of transition (I know some quantities will be off) I researched the stores feedback and seemed really good, so that helped me to trust it will be OK in the end. Also same Stackons I already had was a major plus since they do not make them anymore. 3. Location to me. Just a three hour drive each way wasn't bad and I didn't have to drive through Chicago traffic. Although I still had that slowdown HAHA.
      I did see that MOC store and tested on a few. At this point, I'm used to thoselow-cost, high lot count orders. I just changed my free ship deal to $40 as I was paying on averag, nearly $2.00 out of pocket per order to ship. I need that to be under $1.00 or break even at this point.

    Drool! I would love to add a van load to my collection! Would kill to know what that cost! I'm having to start from scratch replacing my entire Lego collection. My folks confiscated mine for the 'kids' to play with and there all now dumped in three large tubs in the corner of there living room all lied for when they have friends come over with kids....
    So yeah... I'm starting from scratch and buying all over again...

    Congratulations on the new store! By removing cost in the file, do you mind sharing how people usually calculate the cost of goods sold? I can’t recall if I’ve heard anyone discuss that.

    • @PopsBlockShop
      @PopsBlockShop  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe my accountant uses the LIFO method. I just report the total amount spent on inventory every year etc. I've stated this before that I'm not going to go into details on anything tax related. I pay an accountant to make sure I do everything correct and leave it at that.

    • @donm2255
      @donm2255 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PopsBlockShopDo you send the accountant an inventory count at the end of the year? LIFO would require tracking/calculating a cost per sku. I doubt he does that. I bet he just looks at inventory in total and guestimates ending inventory and COGS. Managing actual cost per sku regardless of the method would require a lot of input into the accounting system.
      @JagsMartin - COGS can be done monthly or yearly in total. The formula is dollar amount of beginning inventory + purchases - ending inventory = cogs. The ending inventory can just be number of pieces times average cost per piece (historical average in aggregate). Assigning a cost per sku would be tedious. Assigning an average cost per piece for the entire inventory is much easier.
      BTW, I love your Bricklink store. I've bought from you before and getting ready to do another order.
