The Steam Deck is a handheld gaming computer developed by Valve and released on February 25, 2022. The device uses Valve's Linux distribution SteamOS, which incorporates the namesake Steam storefront. lol They had a sale on Steam for a humble bundle for all of them for like $6.99. But pajama Sam is a point and click adventure game from 1996 to early 2000s . My favorite games to play on the Steam Deck probably vampire survivors Hades, Dave the diver, and my number one has to be armor core 6 the back buttons on the Steam Deck really come in handy for that game.

Just subbed! Super useful, informative, and concise! Hate to be that guy, but will it run Fortnite in this mode? Or does it still need to be run in windows because of the anticheat stuff?
Thanks for subscribing. Really appreciate the kind words. As for Fortnite, unfortunately, due to the anti-cheat system, it still needs to be run in Windows. I’m pretty sure that’s still the only option at the moment, but hopefully, we’ll see better support for the Steam Deck in the future.
Thanks for explaining all of this so well and with such patience for people like me who is not well versed in this multi universe of games. I wanted to install Fortnite and it is telling me that I have to tick to remove the "anti cheat" function or something along those lines, do you know how I can do that? For your issue on the Steam Deck with the Heroic games not appearing in your Steam library. Here are a few things you can try:
1.Check the Heroic Launcher settings: Make sure you’ve enabled the option to “Add Installed Games to Steam” within the Heroic Launcher on your Steam Deck.
2.Restart Steam in Desktop Mode: Go into Desktop Mode on your Steam Deck, restart the Steam client, and check if the games appear in your library
3.Add the Games Manually: If the games still don’t appear, try manually adding the game executables to Steam by using the “Add a Non-Steam Game” feature in Desktop Mode.

Regarding the Heroic Launcher, sometimes it might not show up right away in search results depending on the version or region settings. One thing to try is ensuring that your app store settings are up to date and switching regions if needed. Also, make sure you have the latest version of the store/launcher installed.
Additionally, some third-party applications can interfere with the search or functionality of the launcher, so if you’re running any other apps, it might be worth temporarily disabling them or even uninstalling them and then reinstalling the heroic launcher by itself to see if that resolves the issue.

Thanks for your kind words and for subscribing! Currently, there's no native way to play Xbox Game Pass games directly on the Steam Deck without installing Windows, as far as I’m aware. However, you can use cloud streaming to play Game Pass games via a web browser like Microsoft Edge on the Steam Deck. This lets you stream games without installing them.
Streaming games can be a poor experience unless you have a great internet connection. If you have a Wi-Fi router that supports Wi-Fi 6E, streaming games might not be as bad, but I haven’t tested it. I’ve only used Remote Play from my PlayStation 5 to the Steam Deck, which actually works surprisingly well for me.

Sadly, no the only way I’m aware of playing Fortnite on the steam deck is using a Windows installation to play Fortnite natively on the steam deck
followed like for like and all fine until i launch the game (fallout 3 aswell) and i just get an error message reading "we could not find the selected wine version to launch this title(default wine not found) we found another one, do you want to continue launching using wine-ge-proton7-27?" and no matter wether i say yes or no it just puts me back to my library?
Found a fix? I got another Wine and 75% of the Epic Games games starts. Not all.
If this is really that painless of a process and the games run aswell as steam games then I may just have to invest in a Steam Deck Oled. 😄
I definitely recommend getting the Steam Deck OLED. It’s my all time favorite device. The convenience really sells it for me being able to use remote play to play my PlayStation and having access to my Steam library.

I don't believe Fortnite's anti-cheat system allows it to run natively on the Steam Deck. As far as I know, the only native way to play Fortnite on the Steam Deck is by installing Windows on the device. Unfortunately, if you don't want to run Windows, your alternatives are streaming options like Nvidia GeForce Now or Xbox Game Pass.
Regarding other native options, I can't definitively say there aren't any, but I am not aware of any. If anyone has additional information, please share!

Know any way to get Cygni through EPIC games to work? It is, as of right now, a free game and I was wanting to play it on my deck but it wont load past the KONAMI screen before crashing .

To install games on the SD card using the Heroic Games Launcher on your Steam Deck, you’ll need to follow these steps:
1.Format the SD Card
Make sure your SD card is formatted correctly. Steam Deck uses a Linux-based system, so it’s recommended to format the SD card to ext4. You can do this from the Steam Deck’s Settings under the “Storage” section.
2. Open Heroic Games Launcher
Start Heroic Games Launcher from your Steam Deck.
3.Settings Configuration
Go to the settings in the Heroic Games Launcher.
Under the “Installations” tab or section, look for the “Default Installation Path”.
Change the installation path to your SD card. It will typically be something like /run/media/mmcblk0p1/, but you need to check what it is on your system. The exact path can vary, so you might need to browse or confirm the mount point of your SD card via a file manager or terminal.
4.Install Games
When you install a game, select the new default path you have set, or specify the path if asked during the installation process.
If the game launcher does not recognize the SD card or if you encounter issues accessing the newly set path, make sure that the permissions and mounting points are correctly configured. Sometimes, a restart might be needed after changing storage settings or reformatting the SD card. If you continue to have trouble, it might help to verify that the SD card is functioning correctly and is not corrupted. Please let me know if this works. Heroic games doesn’t show up when I searched it.. I had to download it through the internet browser. Will it work like this?
I haven’t tested it but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work downloading it through the Internet browser, But I would check to make sure your steam decks up to date because it should definitely show up when you search for it.

There could be multiple reasons for this, unfortunately I can not properly help diagnose your issue without troubleshooting it in person. If you have any other third-party applications installed on your steam deck, it might be interfering with it or messing with the game directories like EMU deck or any other emulation set ups you may have on your steam deck. But that is only a guess I really wish I could help you with this problem.
Tested World war Z on my epic games account , Game boots up perfectly but doesn't detect anything from the deck controller.

Fortnite doesn't work on Linux cause it uses anti cheat. Any software that has anti cheat on them won't install on Linux.
Do you mean to say, I've had this thing for 9 months now and shied away from putting Epic on it because I didn't think the huge rabbit hole was worth it, for nothing? This isn't even a worm hole... Or IS it? 🤔
Lol, yes that’s exactly it you’ve been missing out on some easy access to Epic Games on your Steam Deck. It’s not the huge rabbit hole you might have thought in fact, the process is pretty straightforward. So maybe it’s more of a convenient wormhole after all. I followed along and installed Heroic, but how do you change the install directory for games to an SD card? Also I got 1 game to work, but after installing Xcom2 it won't launch. It just says "launching" and doesn't do anything

I wish I could help you but there is no way for me to properly provide help without actually being able to troubleshoot it on site.
It might be another program that didn’t come on the stock Steam Deck operating system but I don’t know if you have installed any other 3rd party software
or
Maybe something went wrong with the installation process when the heroic game launcher was creating the directory location for the games.
But this is only me guessing what it could be.
The best thing i could suggest is to factory reset your steam deck, and make sure there is no 3rd party software that was left behind the factory reset. Then I would retry setting up the heroic game launcher.

I’m just a little confused what you mean by UMFF. The UMFF / Unified Mean-Field Framework, which is a framework that unifies and generalizes existing mean-field approximation methods. The UMFF is an approximation of the exact Markovian SIS equations on complex networks. The framework is described from the perspective of the isoperimetric problem, which provides bounds on the UMFF approximation error. I do not know how this applies to my voice.

You could try either of these two options, though I can’t guarantee they’ll work. First, you can check the Heroic Games Launcher community to see if there are any known issues with the game you’re attempting to play
1.Delete the Epic Games Store folder:
Go to the game's folder in the Epic Games Library, click the three dots, and delete the EGS folder. Then, restart the launcher and relaunch the game.
2.Clear the Epic Games Launcher cache:
Deleting the cache files can fix issues by allowing the launcher to rebuild them.

I do not believe that it will allow you to with the anti-cheat for Fortnite, but it does provide you an indication through the heroic game launcher if the game will work.
Works great for other epic games but not fortnite :(
